Today's pizza wasn't that good, but worst part was the unpleasant hair finding. Sucks! Below average plus hair. Last time visiting this spot.

    Like I said, it's a muffin party.

Still great but my frosted cinnamon roll was a tad dry. I've been coming here so long that I now qualify for the senior discount!!

10/10!!! this is a must eat if your ever in oakland! I would argue one of the best/unique pizza joints in san fran. Always has new and exciting "pizza of the days" and never fails to hit when you really need it to. i've been going here ever since i was 4 and it's consistently been the place to visit each time i come back to the bay. The workers are very sweet and positive! location wise, the area has gotten better but you are in oakland so never let your guard down imo. But that's just the outside, in the inside, that has multiple bakery sections for different breads and it's very cozy. It gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling:)

We picked up some food here to take to Fairyland. The area is busy on the weekends and we had to park up the street. Absolutely do not try to park in the Trader Joe's parking lot. You will get stuck there! The store is small and crowded. I docked them one star because of the layout. The line for the cash registers is right next to the display of pastries. It is kind of chaotic with everyone reaching over each other to get pastries in a small space. Fortunately the other patrons were very nice and let us back in line after we picked out our items. The pizza which is vegetarian is definitely their best offering. Toppings change every day and they only make one kind of pizza. You order at the cash register and wait about 5-10 minutes for them to finish baking it. We shared a bench table with another patron while we were waiting. They don't have a lot of seating, so it's probably best to take the items to go. The pizza we got had bell pepper, onions, Gouda cheese, mozzarella, fennel oil. The crust is thin and crunchy. All of the flavors worked very well together and we all ended up eating much more pizza than we wanted. Even the meat eaters ate a lot of the pizza! Pizzas are very reasonably priced at $25, however, they are thin and on the small side, so definitely order more than what you think you need. They also keep and reheat well. We also picked up two boxes of salad to round out our meal. I am very thankful that they have some healthier options. Salads were very fresh and the vinaigrettes were absolutely delicious. They had some interesting toppings, like watermelon, radish, and Kalamata olives. We got a couple of other things such as the chocolate chip cookie, peanut butter, cookie, blueberry coffee, cake, corn muffin. These items are rather large and a little bit more expensive, so you might think about sharing them. Baked goods, have a very "rustic" quality to them. Sort of like if you made it at home from scratch. They are the exact opposite of the super light and fluffy things you'd find at a Korean bakery. For example, the coffee cake seemed a little dense and had some chewiness to it. The cookies were hard on the outside and a little soft on the inside. This is not a bad thing. It is just different! Overall, I highly recommend this bakery if you are in the area. Just be prepared for the crowds and a little bit of chaos before you get your tasty treats!

We started with the pizza which is amazing! Don't fret about the line outside as it moves quickly. We purchased the seeded loaf and walnut sourdough for home. Their bread is some of the best bread you'll ever have

Parking is a bit hard when it's the weekend. But line moves pretty fast. Came on Saturday. Ordered a half baked pizza. Warmed it up when we got home and it was delicious. Today was potato and red bell pepper and yummmmmmy! We've had a couple others before and all were good. Love coming by when we're in the area

I was in the area of Lakeshore and stopped into Arizmendi Bakery. They have delicious baked goods and pizza! There is always a line of people going into this bakery. Though, it moves quickly. It's a self-serve and then pay at the cashier. The bakery is small. No seats or tables or restrooms. *Ginger & Stout Loaf (4/5) - moist, gingery spicy and zesty with full bodied stout richness. I liked this! *Cherry & Corn Scone (3.5/5) - corn meal mixed in with dried cherries. My wife loves scones. I need something to drink whenever I eat one. *English Muffin - will update later. I like coming to this bakery whenever I am in the area. Support your local business.

IT WAS SO GOOD. I was stopping by trader joes when I noticed a line of people going into Arizmendi. I stopped by to take a look and found that people were lining up for.... Vegetarian pizza??? I wasn't sure why there were so many people but my bf and I decided to try it and we got a half pizza of their daily special and it was SO GOOD. So crispy and flavorful it was amazingggggggggggggggg I am constantly stalking their instagram for their daily specials and can't wait to go back again!! Limited seating inside and slightly crowded!

Arizmendi is a staple in Oakland! I found this place years ago and when I lived here I was a weekly customer. My favs: Daily Pizza Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie Zucchini Bread They provide a daily pizza menu and I can say every one tastes great! My fav is the pesto and zucchini combination. I also get a fresh side salad and iced tea. This is a CoOP.,, they are quick and efficient. They make the pizzas one after another so you always receive a fresh slice right out of the oven. The dough is so good, I'm unsure if it's a sourdough crust but it's definitely unique. The pizza is thin with high quality toppings. The bakery items are also fresh and meet various dietary needs. This location is smaller but they do have seating outside. Parking is challenging so you might have to park on the street behind. During my visit this week, we ate here twice!!! I love the fact they shut it down for staff vacation. Which is well deserved! I love you guys:/ I wish I was a staff member.

Arizmendi bakery is our local go-to place for the best pastries. In addition they also have special pizzas and soups. You walk in and it's a grab and serve yourself from dozens of goods on the rack. We went this morning and got a wide variety of pastries. First off is the Chocolate Thing, which only is made on Sundays, likely because it's so complicated to make, but nonetheless very delicious. It's a soft bun with large chocolate chunks. Very unique as it's not sweet bread but regular. Then the Cheese Rolls are also delicious, very tangy and strong in cheese. If you get the special version, which I suggest, it comes with roasted vegetables too. Scones are always a treat. Anyone driving or walking by should poke their head into Arizmendi, they will be delighted!

Ask the Community - Arizmendi Bakery

    Do you deliver?

We do not. We do currently offer same day online ordering for in-store pick up.

Will Arizmendi start offering espresso drinks again?

    They do offer espresso drinks

What temperature should I bake the half baked pizza and for how long?

400 degrees, 5-10 minutes. I always buy light baked as we only heat up half of the pizza at a time. And they don't charge sales tax since it's cold.

There are glass cases full of breads, cakes, eclairs, tarts and other delicious looking baked goods. On the top of the cases are jars with a variety of cookies to choose from, as well as, one of my favorites, their lemon shortbread bar. The lemon shortbread bar is amazing. They stack the wedges in a large lidded glass jar, each wedge separated with a sheet of white parchment paper. I believe this is one of the hidden gems at La Farine. The shortbread crust Is tender and buttery and hold holds it shape well when you bite into it. The lemon curd is creamy with the right amount of tang, and there is a thin sweet layer of crunch on top of curd that puts this bar over the top. The balance of textures and flavors is perfect. I also highly recommend the chocolate eclairs. Each one is filled with a generous amount of piped whipped cream, a pate choux with good flavor and texture, and topped with a rich, silky layer of chocolate ganache. Overall their prices are reasonable -lemon shortbread bar $3, and chocolate eclair 3.50. I decided to give La Farine four stars because on a previous visit I had a slice of the Moka cake, and was not impressed. It is an attractive and delicious looking cake with lovely pale moka colored frosting surrounding layers of dark chocolate cake, however, the frosting lacked the coffee and chocolate flavor combo that I was looking forward to, and sadly the frosting was more waxy than creamy. That being said, I will definitely be back to search for the next delicious gems at this very lovely bakery on Piedmont Ave.

My Eval in order of likey: - Okonomiyaki Danish, if you like savory, get this, similar to Chinese Pork Sung Bun but with Bonito Flakes, Seaweed , Mayo, Furikake, on a crispy layered flaky Danish...my fav - Yuzu Meringue Bun, an ode to lemon meringue pie, complex combo, the yuzu is really tart and still sweet, bun is flaky, interior gooey, and the dessert is good if you like sweets, just a bit too sweet for me - Leche Flan Milk Bun, simple, not overly sweet, just enough milk cream filling and has a crunchy, exterior topping, tied for second, but simple creation compared to above two - Ube Milk Bun, same as above but I'm not a big fan of Ube this is last for me. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the first one. Not cheap pastries but worth the splurge on occasion.
