3.5 stars overall Deduced 1.5 stars due to the saltiness of the pizza; the crust was delicious and super crispy but the pizza itself is way too salty (I think it's from their sauce). We tried their pepperoni pizza, it was good overall, but the salt was a lot for me to handle. I did love their chicken wings. My husband loved their pizza too. We got it to go, so can't comment on service

Located on California Ave, there's parking available in the parking garage. There's plenty of seating for small groups but can seat up to 10 in a row (20 in total). So the seating arrangement makes it very flexible for groups of all sizes. Wait for the food took a while, but man was it delicious. 2 slices (1/2 pie) were just enough to fill me but could definitely have eaten a 3rd slice. The flavor was amazing. Toppings were fresh and the crust was done very nicely. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Square Pie Guys is a great place for some delicious pizza. The flavors they have have a good mix of your generic flavors but also some unique spinoffs.

Pretty good pizza! Got the seasonal special, it was a thick bread crust, topped with oodles of cheese and spicy ranch sauce, and Philippine pork sausage. Quite an explosion of flavour. I think the highlight was the pizza crust, which was beautifully caramelized cheese, unlike the boring bready crusts of most pizza (including especially the stuff you get at expensive Italian places). We wanted to try the crispy brussel sprouts but they were out, so we instead got the lemon pepper wings, which were substantial pieces of juicy and tender chicken, well-seasoned and very crispy. The interior is rather nicer than I would have expected for a pizza place, somewhat spartan like a fast-casual joint at the front, but remarkably cozy around the back. We ordered through the app, which gets a discount but means you end up waiting much longer for your meal to come out (we waited 35-40 minutes, and it wasn't particularly busy). Not sure if it's worth waiting the extra time for that discount.

After checking out the Campbell location (see my review) I had to check out this location. It is very new, but the food and service was wonderful. We sat outside on the patio with our fur child. It was a bit chilly because they don't have heaters, but it was well lit. We ordered 2 pizzas and a salad. Both were sooo good and fresh/hot. I do wished they had drinks on tap. Only bottled sodas and no alcohol, yet. Service was so friendly! Many vegetarian options and pet friendly patio.

For a square pizza, this is bomb. Baked perfectly and the mushroom + pepperoni + honey was a nice combination. The only critic I can give is that the ranch was lackluster :(

Love how clean and modern this location is! Great for date nights or a family outing. Highly recommend the Mush-O-roni! Well balance in flavors with mushroom, pepp, cheese, and hot honey in red sauce. Making my mouth water just thinking of the flavors . Will have to be back again to try the other flavors!

Square pie guys never disappoints me. Pizza crust was crispy. I saw they had a new intriguing flavor, so I got the lemon pepper chicken. It was good to try, but I'm not convinced that lemon pepper chicken belongs on pizza. I would totes come back to get the classic pies. They have lunch deal where you can get half a pie for $12.97.

Overall, a very solid Detroit style pizza. This is my first time visiting since their soft opening. There are many poorly rated review from that soft opening that I feel is unfair, so I decided to give it one more shot before I made my judgement. I had tried the musharoni and the pepperoni pies. Both were solid, the pepperoni crisp was spot on. The cheese was a good ratio. The crust and dough were fluffy and crispy on the edges. The main downside though, was how variable the amount of sauce applied was. The mush a roni had way less sauce than the pepperoni. I think in both cases, they were lacking sauce and could use a little more, but the flavor of the sauce was quite good. Overall, it's a decent Detroit style pizza. The employees there are very friendly. The pizzas are pricey, maybe check their app for any deals going on to make it worth going.

Solid pizzas, would come here again if I crave pizza. Kind of strange I can't earn reward points for purchasing in store even if I have an account. Service is a bit slow because everything is made super fresh, so keep that in mind if you are looking for something speedy. We ordered 2 diff pies and 1 order of sze Chuan wings that had a nice numbing sensation but really not spicy. Between the two pizzas, the hot honey one was so good. I would get this again! Overall, cute vibes and yummy food. I would come here again! PS: sign up for rewards/texts! They seem to run a lot of deals

What do people go wild for? New openings. Discounts. And, free stuff. One customer went hella wild at Square Pie Guys. They purchased SO much food, all the takeout boxes were overflowing from their cart. Soft launching yesterday is Square Pie Guys' 5th location in the Bay Area. They took over their ghost kitchen location inside Local Kitchen (next to Zareen's). In 2018, Square Pie Guys started as a pop up in the city and in 2019, opened their first brick and mortar in SoMa. While they weren't the first to bring Detroit style pizza to the bay, their brand def started the trend. While I was running an errand in the area, I tried to place my order on their app but it didn't work. Placed my order in-person and there was only two people in line. M E N U Specialty: Detroit-Style Pizza. GF and vegan options available. They also serve salad, wings, and dessert. P R O M OS *Soft Launch Promo*: 50% off the entire menu on 9/28 + 9/29. I overheard they'll also be having promos for their grand opening on 9/30/25 and BOGO for their Pepperoni Pizza, I think for the entire month of October? F O O D * 6 pc Lemon Pepper Wings (Reg $15/Promo $7.50) Crispy, juicy jumbo wings coated in a lemon butter and lemon pepper seasoning. Great citrusy tang and warming pepper. Flavorful not overly salty. Served with their creamy housemade ranch and crunchy carrot sticks. * Ellen Supreme w/ vodka sauce, pepperoni, italian sausage, grilled onions, pickled peppers, and mushrooms (Reg. $24.50/Promo $12.25) - Missing mushrooms (they ran out of it) Airy soft focaccia with crispy, caramelized cheese crust. The combo of ingredients created a meaty savory sweetness with a kiss of acid. Not too salty as the cream in the vodka sauce helps mellow out the saltiness from the pepperoni. S E R V I C E Despite being back up 45 minutes in orders and crazy busy, the owners and staff did a great job in making sure orders were going out ASAP. They were very apologetic and threw in two full size salads (house and chopped) for the wait. A M B I A N C E Casual, minimalist with a handful of tables inside and four tables outside. There's also communal outdoor tables. 90s hip hop playlist. Overall, after trying a handful of Detroit-style pizzas, SPG remains my fav esp their Ellen and I found it to be consistent with their original SoMa location. Hope they consider doing a collab with Zareen's next door for a Chicken Tikka Masala Detroit-Style Pizza!

Check out square pie guys for their opening week. They had a promo for first 25 people and get a freeze deepest cheese pizza. I was able to make it to be one of the first and got the deepest cheese pizza. This pizza is delicious Detroit style pizza as it is crispy melted cheese on the edge and soft fluffy dough. The cheese is very good and had a very nice cheese pull. The sauce is on the tangy side which is nice. It is freshly made and at the end they top it off with some Parmesan cheese. The size of the pizza for 20 bucks is kind of on the pricey side. The only issue I had was with this promo if they knew people were gonna be in line for cheese pizzas they should already have some premade and ready to be slinging out the door. But all in all it still went fairly quickly as I got my pizza in a little bit over 30 minutes. I would still prefer slice of homage and slice house for Detroit style pizza as it is better than the price for size is a little bit better as well. However, I would still recommend square pie guys and would be back if I'm in the area.

Finally had a chance to try this place. Great location on California avenue- which is still blocked off for pedestrian only but there is plenty of parking along the side streets as well as a new multi-level parking lot that is free. Plenty of space to sit both indoor and outdoor. I ordered take out. I tried the p-lo pie which was delicious with the hot honey and the special bomba. A little spicy but not too spicy. The deep dish style was amazing. Price point is on the moderately high side as each square pizza runs about $30+ after tax and tip.... And is intended for 1-2 individuals.

I came here with my bf after hearing about their soft opening on instagram! It was around 3pm when I came here yesterday and it was still quite busy due to the 50% off deal. The line wasn't too long, and getting our pizza took about 20ish minutes. The tables were packed inside, so we sat outside where there was availability. Even though they were busy with a multitude of orders, the quality of the pizza was 5/5. We ordered Ellen Supreme and the Mush-o-roni pizzas with ranch, basil pesto aioli, and cilantro crema dipping sauces! Both pizzas were hot, crisp, and generously topped. The basil pesto aioli was to die for and further elevated our pizzas!! I'm so happy for this addition to Palo Alto! I'm definitely going to come back again with friends for the delicious pizzas and good vibes.

Everything is freshly made, the portions are generous, and the meat is packed with flavor. The oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender, and the jerk pork was ridiculously juicy and flavorful. I also tried the jerk chicken and NY strip. The chicken actually stole the show--the steak was good, but the jerk chicken had that extra something that made me keep going back for another bite. And of course, the coconut rice and plantains were the perfect companions to all that rich, savory goodness. My only wish? Give me something fresh and refreshing on the side! A little salad, slaw, or something with some acidity would balance out all that richness beautifully. Overall, though, everything was delicious, portions were big, and my Caribbean food cravings have officially been satisfied. Definitely coming back!

Amongst the items they recommended was the ribs and chicken combo. Ribs were tender but they were just basic bbq sauce ribs. My friend was disappointed since he expected them to lean on Caribbean flavors. I had the chicken and oxtail combo which included rice and beans, and plantains. Decent size portion with a couple of oxtails, two thighs and drumstick. The proteins were moist and tender, but very under-sauced. The collard greens were tender and velvety! I'd suggest that too. It can get loud. But I think that was mostly because people are compensating when one table is loud.

My favorite was definitely the jerk chicken. Then, previous to this plate, I've only had red bean rice, which was soggy rice mixed with red beans, so the seasoning on this rice surprised me, and it tasted so good. I came around 5:50PM on a Sunday night and had to wait about 10 minutes, but by the time I left around 6:30PM, the line was out the door and then some. Definitely get here early, and parking shouldn't be too hard with a lot nearby and free street parking. This spot is pretty casual, as in you order at the counter before grabbing a number and sitting at a table. As opposed to a food hall, you get directed where you sit before ordering, and sometimes end up sharing a table with another party, especially in my case when you have a party of 2. Service was attentive and food came out at a decent pace, though they did not come all together. I ordered a large Bistec Sandwich and a Pasteles Special. The Bistec sandwich is a must order, and I recommend ordering the sandwich over the plate due to how fragrant the bread was. Pictures might not look like much, but the bread was sooo good and crispy, and they give a good balance of meat, avocado and veggies. It can be a little heavy, but a large sandwich was perfect for my wife and I to share along with another plate. The Pastales was alright - the rice is pretty unique if you're looking for new flavors, but the pork was a little stinky and dry. The hot sauce on the table is really good and managed to mitigate that, and it's not as spicy as you'd think given the color and smell. The banana leaf in the tamale made it really fragrant with a unique taste, and the lemon sauce on the salad balanced the entire plate out. For a party of 2, I recommend ordering the Bistec Sandwich in large size (since I believe the regular price only gives you half) and another plate. I also recommend using the toast tab (online order) to look at the menu over their actual menu; the UI of it makes it hard to choose what to order and the toast menu has pictures next to the menu item. Given that Marin food options can be quite expensive or fancy, this place is the perfect place to go for a unique food spot, especially if you're coming from SF.

The service was super friendly and accommodating, like talking to family. There were so many good options and the prices were affordable! Especially, for Caribbean food. My partner kept telling me how good of a find this place was and I felt accomplished, LOL! We got excited because this is probably one of our favorite cuisines. We ordered the goat curry, mac and cheese, mixed veggies, collard greens, vegetable curry, beef patty, and two orders of fried cornmeal bread... all for a family of 3 (the 3rd human being a 14 month old hahaha). I thought I can give the baby the vegetable curry, but it turned out to be too spicy so hence why we got the mac and cheese and plain mixed veggies. Everything was fire! Maybe with the exception of the collard greens because that tasted like it was cooked in tabasco or something. Their juices were good too! Portions are generous. Luckily, we had leftovers to enjoy the next day. The beef patty was yummy, but I do wish it came with some type of dipping sauce. All the dishes tasted authentic, I felt like I was back in Jamaica. Everything comes in to-go containers which is convenient. They provide paper plates if you want to dine there. The restaurant is maintained well and clean. I hope they expand across East Bay area as it seems many of their locations are mainly in South Bay/Peninsula.

One afternoon in Hayward, my family and I showed up right at 6 PM, exactly at closing time. We had just left a family party but purposely held our appetite because our favorite Puerto Rican food truck was finally back in town. My wife and I were married in Old San Juan, and Puerto Rico will always hold a special place in our hearts. We even travel back to the island with our kids whenever we can. When Chef Darren saw how disappointed we were that we had missed them, he didn't turn us away. Even though they were already closed, he fired the grill back up and blessed our family with an incredible meal. That level of hospitality, heart, and genuine Puerto Rican warmth is rare. The food was absolutely amazing as always, authentic flavors that instantly take us back to the island, but the kindness and service meant even more to us. We'll always support Boriqua Kitchen. Truly the best Puerto Rican food in the Bay Area, served by people who treat you like family.

Roberto Clemente - yes 100% Ok we actually tried multiple things from the menu and quite literally everything was friggin delicious. I will say, come hungry, come ready for some fried food and enjoy. Talk to Anthony and find out what he's bringing to your belly - he'll guide you the way. I get excited every time I see the truck in our hood. Go, thank me later.

The jerk chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy, and so flavorful. The jerk sauce was sweet and savory with just enough kick and the red beans and rice was the perfect accompaniment. The bread pudding might have been the best I've ever had. That sauce was so good! The portions were generous, we had enough for my boyfriend and I for supper and leftovers for him to take to work for lunch the next day. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and you could just tell they really enjoyed what they were doing and put a lot of love into the dishes. They were quite proud of their work, as well they should be! This was every bit as good as the food I had in Jamaica, highly recommend!!!

Oxtail plate - really tasty, heavy on the sides but a little light on the meat. Another piece would've done it for me. I got extra oxtail gravy which was really good to add on to the rice and peas. Jerk ribs - SO DAMN GOOD!!! Great flavor, fall off the bone, I could easily eat more of that. Don't skip it! Pepper shrimp - eh, it was ok I think. My daughter wanted that so I only had one piece of shrimp mixed with some other things on my own plate. I do think there was only maybe 5-6 shrimps. They were a good size, but again, a 2-3 more pieces would've made it perfect. Curry shrimp - I really enjoyed the curry shrimp and I appreciate that they package the curry shrimp separate from the sides that come with the meal. Definitely going to get those again when I return. Escovitch fish - I had never ordered a whole fried fish before so I was excited. I had escovitch fish when I was in Jamaica but it was served not as a whole fish. I thought it was fried well and had good seasoning. I like the pickling too, I ordered extra. I also ordered a beef patty and an oxtail patty but I haven't eaten them yet. Looking forward to it though. Also, the plates came with cabbage. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be cooked, I've seen that and that's what I expected. But what was on the plate was dry bagged salad like you get from the produce section to make Cole slaw. There was no sauce and it was uncooked. Not sure about that. I ordered online so I didn't really get "service" but the woman at the register was kind and had a warm smile. Overall, I can't wait to return. And now that I know what I like, maybe I won't spend quite so much to try everything lol.

It is definitely more of a grab-and-go place than a sit-down restaurant, but the food traveled well and made for a solid meal. The plantains were one of the highlights. They were sweet, soft, and cooked really nicely. The rice was pretty average and did not add much to the bowl, but the proteins helped make up for it. The salmon was cooked well and stayed moist, although it could have used a little more seasoning or sauce. The jerk chicken was excellent, with great flavor and a nice amount of seasoning. I also tried some of my friend's oxtail, and that was easily the standout. It was incredibly flavorful, tender, and something I would definitely order next time. Overall, this was a very good experience and a great option for takeout. I would come back, especially for the jerk chicken and oxtail.

You order at the counter and they bring it to you. This kind of service is ok with me, but the fact that the defaulted tip is always calculated for you without the full dine in experience always gets me. This leaves the obligation to the customer. Anyway, I digress. The food was delicious nonetheless! We ordered: Oxtail and chicken combo 5/5 It was really good, except the scoops of rice were tiny and not in proportion with the protein Jerk chicken sandwich 3/5 Good, but the meat goes better with rice Beef & chicken patties: We prefer the beef over the chicken & ordered extras to go to share with family. Beef 4/5, chicken 3/5 Cornbread 5/5 Perfect amount of sweetness and the butter makes it so much better. Overall, yes, I would go back for the food. It is far for us, but if I am in the area, I'll definitely return. I love Caribbean food and this one is on my top list.
