I'd rather pay around $15 for a meal with fries and a drink and come back regularly than pay $25 and think twice about returning. Repeat customers are what keep restaurants around for years. Don't get me wrong--the food tastes good, and the staff is friendly. But the food isn't so unique that it justifies the current prices and small portions. In-N-Out serves great food too, at a much lower price. This is a fixable issue. Increase the portion sizes, lower the prices a bit, and I think this place could become a long-term success. I've seen too many restaurants come and go because they priced themselves out of repeat business. Think about a family of four or five spending $100-125 for a meal. That's hard to justify for what you receive. It's still early, so there's time to adjust. The sooner, the better. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience at Zingster's in Palo Alto. The food was average at best, but the prices were way too high for what you get. A basic chicken sandwich was around $15, and by the time you add fries and a drink, you're paying about $23 per person. This isn't a premium burger or anything unique--it's just a breaded chicken breast sandwich. The quality simply doesn't justify the price. It felt like the restaurant was charging far more than the food is worth. There are plenty of other places nearby where you can get a better chicken sandwich, larger portions, and better value for your money. Some of the best hot chicken I've had! Dropped in after driving by a day earlier and was not disappointed. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and welcomed in, and asked if we had any questions. We decided on one Zing 3 meal (tenders on bread) in medium and one Zing 2 meal (chicken sliders) with one hot and the other X-hot. The chicken was delicious, fried perfectly, and not greasy at all. My friend loved her medium spice level and immediately said that Zingster's is now her #1 hot chicken place. I went with the hot first, then the X-hot and honestly didn't notice much difference, but the flavors were fantastic: Crunchy, just the right amount of spice, solid bun that didn't disintegrate, the pickle and coleslaw contrasted perfectly with the spice. Overall an excellent chicken sandwich. The fries were good, and my friend really liked hers. The white sauce was amazing and I could definitely use more of that. There are maybe 6-7 tables inside and covered seating outside. Inside was clean and well maintained. was on the way to get matcha & happened to pass by this spot. it looked like they were selling mainly (halal) smash burgers and chicken tenders but i wasn't able to see the menu too well with my sunglasses on lol. you can choose the spice level for the chicken. the employees were all very nice! i ordered the loaded fries to-go and it came with extra sauces on the side. flavor is great. honestly, it probably would've been even tastier if i ate it right away instead of waiting until i got home. portion size was a little smaller than i anticipated BUT considering the rise in gas prices, it being halal, and the area: the price i paid was reasonable. the wait was not too long. you get a little buzzer which will alert you when your food was ready. it seems like they do make things to order since i heard some of the employees asking each other to drop the fries, etc. utensils are self-serve. interior is relatively small. the ordering area is right by the door. lining up would be a little tricky if it gets packed. there's indoor seating with mainly 2-person tables, but there are a few bigger tables that can accommodate 4. i also noticed there is a prayer room as well, although unsure if it's strictly for employees. regardless, it's a really nice and unique feature for those who need that space to practice. overall, would definitely come back again & recommend to others! read more
