I have them for phone insurance my wife dropped her phone. The phone was in perfect condition. The phone broke and it bent the phone . I tried to fill a claim out and the website doesn't work. I called got the claim started the email me back asking really dumb question for 3 to 4 days at the end the said they won't pay my claim because The pictures of the item show negligence with the item. It's a broken phone it's literally what you get insurance is for. She dropped the phone it happens. This company is a SCAM. Good afternoon, I recently had an issue with my Surface Pro 3 tablet towards the beginning of this month. It suddenly stopped responding, and I had to file a warranty claim with SquareTrade. The claim went smoothly and I was able to send it to their repair facility, where it arrived on Thursday February 6'th. I was assured by their support staff that the repair would take at most 5 business days. I waited till 7 business days had passed and tried contacting support again regarding the status of my tablet, and I was told to continue waiting a few more days. Unfortunately I was left waiting without any updates until I made a complaint to support, and I barely got an email saying my computer was deemed irreparable on the 20'th of February and I would be shipped a replacement. That is 14 days without resolution. I waited till the 25'th of February for my Surface Pro 3 arrived. I understand it was replaced with a refurbished unit, but I am appalled by the condition SquareTrade considers their refurbished unit. My unit had issues with touch response / phantom touches on the screen, and in the few days I was using it, I've been having overheating problems with the unit. The back of the unit gets extremely warm with just normal usage. The front of the unit has the grilles covering the 2 speakers missing and the charging port looks like it has a small burn mark / residue right by the charging port, as well as a small dent. With the Surface Pro 3 tablet, I have a separate OEM keyboard attachment that has issues with staying connected to the tablet, even though it works perfectly fine on my friend's same machine. I have attached photos of some of the damage in this post. [Surface Pro 3 - i7 cpu / 256 GB storage / 8 GB ram] I was told my Squaretrade support at the beginning of my claim, that is a suitable replacement was not found / in stock at the warehouse, I would be given a reimbursement for the cost of the product. I received a refurbished device, but the condition is very disappointing. I am a university student and my computer is a necessity to my education and is a very important tool I use in the majority of my classes. A working, functioning computer is paramount and necessary. I'm dissapointed in Squaretrade's service and I shouldn't have such had high expectations after experiencing such poor service. I am worried if I send it back, I do not wish to play the "lottery" game for another unit that may or may not be properly functioning. Square Trade (Allstate Plan) did contact me back after just a day or so when I explained my Displeasure and reasons and did offer me a refund to make things right. Not the Full Price of the product, but not the entire product was damaged, just the top Canopy. SO Contacted the Manufacturer for a replacement "Part", and with the refund Square Trade Offered pretty much offset the cost of replacement. So Will consider this a fair transaction and update my review to reflect so. Hopefully will receive the refund we agreed upon! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. They will do everything they can in order to not follow through with their end of the warranty. I had 3 different phone calls with 3 different "customer service" reps who all lied directly to me regarding how my claim was being moved forward. They operate with egregiously fraudulent practices, they will return a "repaired" warrantied product back to the consumer with it still being nonfunctional. THEN they will lie to you about being reimbursed for the product (after sending it in for "repairs" 2 more times with it still barely working) only to tell you days later that a reimbursement cant be processed. They will then claim that they spent more money "repairing" your product (thats still broken btw) than it even costs to purchase new and tell you that youve "exceeded your coverage" only after calling and being deceived by multiple different people. They keep telling me submitted more documents and when I do they say they need more or different documents to they never asked for. How complicated dose an insurance claim have to be you have a works authorization and a paid receipt for the work you should be reimburse. This is a total scam they will never pay out any claims. Tried multiple times to create an account on their website to file a claim, but every time it said that the email and password did not match for the account, even though I had just created it and literally copy/pasted the password. Stay very far away from this dishonest company. I bought a Roomba with a 2 year warranty that broke down after 3 months. The first time I mailed the item in for repair they sent it back still broken. The second time I mailed it in they lost it without bothering to notify me. I had to spend the next 2 months getting the runaround before finally talking to someone who could issue me a refund. And for a cherry on top, when I finally get my refund check, it doesn't even include tax, so that I ended up paying 20 dollars for 3 months of headaches. You should have a class action suit filed against your company by the many customers who are going through the same frustration as me. I've had Square Trade insurance on my cell phone for over two years. They are owned by Allstate and haven't responded to my insurance claim that was recently filed for my cell phone. The number you call is located in a foreign country call center. They'll send you emails to fill out claim and mail your cell phone to a location in Texas. Still haven't received my insurance payment for over $1000.00 dollars for my I-phone. Their main office is located in California according to Wisconsin Consumer Protection. You have to jump through hoops to file a claim and then they still try to say you didn't do everything and when you continue and finally get the claim file. You don't hear from them again. I contacted them after 30 days of nothing and my liquid stains are apparently different from the liquid stains my protection covers. AVOID!!!! They provided false information at the beginning of the claim process and will not honor it now that I am in a bind, which has put me in a very bad place. I don't know if it is a training issue or not. But I keep getting different policy answers with every person I speak with. Before filing my cell phone claim, I called to verify how long I had to return my damaged phone. The representative said 30 days. But also said in most cases, if the phone is inoperable, they wont even ask for it back. And she noted my account with this information. So with that info, I filed the claim, and sent my old phone off to a data recovery service. The next day, I got an email from SquareTrade stating I only had 7 days to return my phone. I called in to clarify, and the rep confirmed 7 was correct but they could grant a time extension if I could provide an exact date. So today, I got the exact date and called back. The new rep said the time frame was perfect and only needed to set it up. But then came back and said it was denied. That they wouldn't give me that much extra time since I already had 30 DAYS!?!? Again, I was boggled, she said 30 days again. So I clarified and she said "oops I am sorry I was wrong it is only 7". Simply put, If I had been provided the proper information up front, I wouldn't have filed the claim. I have an old backup phone I was using. Then I would have filed the claim after my photos were rescued. They refuse to honor the terms that I was first provided and so now, I have no choice but to loose 8 months worth of my infant's photos or get charged $750 in violation of the claim. Please avoid this company at all costs unless you have weeks to wait for your repair with no updates unless you reach out. - The initial process started off alright. I contacted them on December 19th. The claim was easy to start, and I was told I'd have to call and talk to a specialist to complete the claim. I got through to somebody fairly quickly and they had me do a little bit of troubleshooting to make sure it wasn't an easy fix. After a short troubleshooting session, the rep suggested I will need to send the item in for repair and provided me with a shipping label. It was the Holiday's, so I wasn't able to ship out the laptop immediately (completely on me). My laptop was received at the Repair Center on December 30th. I was told it would take 2-5 business days for the repair, given January 1st was a holiday for most; I waited until late January 9th to reach out as I hadn't heard anything. At this point they told me they had to order a replacement part and I should expect to hear back January 12th. I waited until late that night to reach out again to be told that I would hear from them by the end of the day and to "Please wait". It was already about 8 or 9PM so I asked if they would get back by midnight? I was told I would hear back earlier than that. I ended the chat and SUPRISE, never heard anything from them that night. I contacted them back on Friday afternoon to be told that I would hear back within 24-48 hours and that there was nothing they could do to update me at that time. I then got an automated email saying that I would actually be hearing back in 1-2 business days... being the weekend I went another 2 and a half days in the dark. On Monday, January 16th I actually got an email update saying that my repair is still on hold for parts and the ETA is now January 19th. - One of the biggest problems here is that they order a replacement screen for my laptop. I plugged the laptop into an external monitor, and it still didn't work so I'm about 99% sure this isn't going to fix the problem! Here it is, January 19th; again, no updates sent from them. I reached out AGAIN! They now tell me that it's delayed and that it should be fixed January 25th... going on almost 4 weeks now without my laptop. I finally had to break down and purchase a new laptop as I can't wait any longer. I expressed that to the representative I was talking to and requested a refund. I was told they can't offer that until the repairs are done and it's determined unfixable. I again expressed that I can't wait any longer and that I order a new Laptop already and requested this be escalated. I was then reassured that my request was escalated and that they will update me on January 25th... At this point I'm over it, I don't think they'll ever get this laptop fixed so hopefully I'll eventually get a reimbursement for my new laptop otherwise when I finally get my laptop back from this AWFUL company, I guess I'll sell it on eBay as I can't wait any longer on this. *****Sorry for the rant... moral of the story is avoid this company at all costs. I filed a warranty claim for headphones 12/16/22, it is now 06/08/23 and Squaretade has yet to resolve the claim. I've contacted them multiple times, been told "we are sourcing a replacement, you will hear back in 1-2 days" and never get a followup. I was not a fan of the way that they handled my claim & I felt as though the customer service & communication between departments was severely lacking. This was odd to me because I had not had issues in the past. I am giving this 5-star review for Tanasha. I spoke with her on the phone this evening (01/23/2020) regarding the phone that SquareTrade had sent me as a replacement. The replacement device has had serious software issues that started one week after I received it. After kindly explaining that I was not going to pay a deductible because the error was NOT something that I did, she talked to her direct supervisor and he could not guarantee that the deductible would be waived. Kindly, I stood my ground and asked her if I could speak with the supervisor above her supervisor. Instead of transferring me, she plead my case and was successful. She truly cared. Tanasha's compassion, professionalism, committment to customer care, and sharp attention-to-detail made this experience easy and painless. i've been dealing with my situation with Square trade for over 3 1/2 weeks my Xbox series X was not fixed. They told me they were gonna send me a check to email. I never got it then I spoke with a higher level company. They told me they were going to send me two checks one with my protection coverage and the second check was going to be for the coverage of the Xbox here it is three and they have week later and nothing. I've been checking my mailbox every day which I do and nothing. I really don't understand why one the Xbox wasn't fixed and as I put this review on here, my Xbox is still under warranty with square tray and I have not anything with them. We purchased prescription glasses from Sam's Club and they gave us the hard pitch on the "great service" and "ease" of using SquareTrade for an extended warranty. We were told that most claim processing takes a "few hours, but occasionally it can take 24 hours". The glasses were damaged and eligible for warranty. We filed the claim through their application and received a confirmation email stating the claim was received and it should be approved in a few hours but may take a day. 3 days later, I received an email requesting a copy of the receipt. Keep in mind that they SPECIFICALLY STATE that there is no need to "register" a new policy because they receive all of the information when we purchase the warranty - including a copy of the receipt. So i find and send the receipt and receive confirmation. FIVE DAYS later (total of 8 days after filing the claim), there is still no resolution, so I call. Their phone system is so bad, that I am disconnected FOUR TIMES. After 6 total phone calls of trying to navigate their HORRENDOUS VOICE SYSTEM, I finally get a rep. I am told that she can't help me and I need to get transferred. 29 minutes and 23 seconds later, I am connected to another rep. Now the new rep has to verify ALL MY INFORMATION AGAIN. This nightmare continues for a total of 49 minutes and 50 seconds. IN THE END, I am told that my payment "should" be processed in 1 to 3 business after after i complete a 10 question affidavit. I finally received payment on the night of the 8th day. I estimate that I spent a total of nearly 3 hours trying to recover about $120. Considering we paid $40 for the policy, my "net" was $80 in recovery. I would have been better off going to work at my local McDonalds for 3 hours. I WILL NEVER USE SQUARETRADE OR ALLSTATE AGAIN. read more

The technicain came at 4pm and im already at work. He spoke with my tenant and he just checknthe model of my stove and left. I thought he already fix it. I paid $350 for a protection plan for an LG OLED65C7P TV. We started getting green bars showing up on the screen a month or so ago. I went through some basic troubleshooting myself, including multiple attempts at the 'pixel refresher' tool with no success. I opened a claim with SquareTrade. Once I went through all of the hoops of taking pictures, including the attached, my claim was denied because of 'burn-in'. Until performing this test, which is a Yellow Screen test, I had no idea there was a burned in image in the lower right (from a video game that we haven't played in a few years). Never noticed it before. Nor did I really notice the main center of the screen being off colored. I only saw the lines in the center left, center right, and lower left that are visible all the time. But with a straight face they're saying all this green discoloration on this Yellow Screen test is burn-in and denying my claim? I'd love for a class action suit be brought just so we could see in Discovery just what % of claims are denied. There is no way I could ever recommend SquareTrade (and by default, Allstate) to anyone, ever, and they should be ashamed of themselves. read more

I was expecting furniture to be delivered so I did not put it up right away as I ended up purchasing a replacement due to how long it took to resolve! I put the tv up and it was damaged with a broken screen! They are refusing to replace it, even though it arrived damaged, because apparently I only had 30 days to make sure it was ok! At no point was I ever advised that if it was damaged in transit was I supposed to report it within 30 days! What a ripoff this insurance company is! Not a happy customer!! I bought a TV at Costco in 2017 and in late 2020, two small lines appeared on the screen. I figured too much time had lapsed on the $30 warranty and that it wouldn't be covered. Thankfully, I reviewed the warranty and found out the TV was covered till 2022. I emailed pictures into square trade and though we went back and forth trying to figure out exactly what they needed pictures of to diagnose the problem. They agreed to just reimburse me for the entire cost of the TV and within a few days I got the check in the mail. I was expecting a bunch of red tape and dragging their feet, but their customer service was on point and I go the money quickly. I'd definitely buy a warranty plan with them again, to cover my appliances! read more
