Beware of undisclosed surprise fees! Repairman came out at scheduled appt time. Picked up the phone and said "that's what i was afraid of...it needs another part that will be another $40-45 and can be here on Monday". After advising the tech I'd rather get a new phone than spend $350 repairing it, he then said it they needed $40 for the trip and diagnostics. As your scheduling a visit on the icracked website it doesn't advise anywhere nor in the emails does it advise a potential "service" fee if repairs cannot be completed. After advising the tech about the surprise fee he said he's an independent contractor with icracked and that's simply the policy. He said he's "not familiar with the website... it's only $40... and normally its $99 diagnostic." Then still sitting in my home he told me he wasn't going to argue about it but continued to give reason after reason why I should pay it, that he's going to get paid either way and this is theft of service. If that is a policy and this wasn't just a scam and shake down, it needs to be clearly posted somewhere in the scheduling process or confirmation email. Bummer. This seems like a really great idea, and I'm sure it is, when it works out. Unfortunately, there seems to be some disconnect between the website and the actual repair guys. I made an appointment when I completed my yearly ritual of breaking my phone screen. I scheduled an agent to come by my house before work the next day, but then he texted me saying he had a doctors appointment at that time and couldn't make it. I thought this was kind of TMI and weird. I tried to schedule again and something similar happened. I made a time and date and the next day the agent said that time wouldn't work for them. It seems like the website says dates are available, when they really aren't. I was cutting my fingers while trying to use my phone, so I broke down and went to a local repair shop. I will definitely give these guys another shot next time I break my phone. Oh and there WILL be a next time! read more

I ended up canceling and using a local shop after waiting a total of 38 min and hearing back from no one. They stated my tech could have been in traffic, late due to the last apt, etc. all of this would have been fine if the tech had called. I provided my phone number but wasn't contacted. Disappointed. I met Jim at a local restaurant a few months ago to have my iphone screen replaced. Initially everything seemed great. Jim was professional and friendly. Fast forward a few months and the screen began to peel away from the phone, which led to dust getting under the glass and created small scratches. Furthermore, today my phone's audio quit working except when headphones were plugged in. I took the phone to the legit Apple store and the phone was examined by an Apple Genius. After examination, the Genius was able to identify that a third-party (Jim from iCracked) had replaced the screen. The Genius stated that there were parts missing and that he was surprised that the phone even worked currently, especially the camera.
