I've visited Squaw Creek since I was a child. Always great memories.. They should build a facebook page and see how fast it grows.

What a great spot for drinks, and not JUST drinks, but nicely done craft cocktails. They offer a small house drink menu with classics and not too classics, as well as aperitive (lower alcohol style) drinks if your doing an early cocktail hour. My Negroni was real tasty (especially after it sat with its BIG square cube for a few min) and served in a nice bodega style glass. The beer list is small, but well curated, and the wine list hits all the marks for a light smattering of local and international (French) wines. The interior was perfect and welcoming. Music was at a nice level so you can relax and talk....and thank god no TV. Four of us took our drinks into the library which was comfy and beautiful (a smidge bright) and sat on gorgeous leather couches, surrounded by a solid collection of folio books on art, mid century design, and...well I didn't get further than that 'cause that's my happy place. Don't forget to get some cheese and charcuterie too!! The bartender was super sweet and definitely learning his craft, but he was measuring his pours, following recipes for the drinks and cared about what he served you. That's a big plus because I know I will get the same great drink time and time again...with a kind smile. So awesome!! Thank you Bar Thatcher for giving us a fun night with friends and for your presence in an area (ukiah, Cloverdale, Hopland). Can't wait to come back!

The ambiance is spectacular, so was the service and the selection of beers and wines. The medium…read morerating comes from the complete lack of food. Their site mentions small bites. But when asked the server was extremely vague about any food being available. He mentioned "to go" items next door in Poppy Cafe. But it had closed three hours earlier. So we went across the torn up sketchy street to eat at Golden Pig. Disappointing since we live very close by.

The diner itself is clean, neat, and well maintained, and right away we noticed how friendly the staff was. Our server, May, was a total sweetheart--very kind, accommodating, and attentive. She truly stood out and made us feel welcome. Honestly, she would be a great manager if she isn't already. Unfortunately, there were a few issues. The first thing we noticed was that there was no hot water in the bathroom, which isn't ideal--especially on a cold night and from a hygiene perspective. Ray ordered the ribeye steak and was pretty disappointed. While it was $28, it lacked flavor and didn't have a proper sear or crust--it was gray and just not enjoyable. I ordered the vintage burger on toasted sourdough, and that was actually very good. I enjoyed it and thought it was well done. I really like to give full stars when they're deserved, but this experience just didn't quite add up. Great service and a clean space, but the food inconsistency and no hot water made it hard to rate higher. Hopefully these are things that can be improved because the staff--especially May--was excellent.

The peperjack cheese was not melted, therefore didn't have that melt feel to the sando. My husband got chicken fried steak and asked for a English muffin in place of the biscuit, the sever brought out both and said he could have them both since she forgot to specify that he didn't want a biscuit. We got our bill and she charged him 3.50 for the English muffin. We had it fixed but still, c'mon.
