I've been to Squeeze In 4 times before this review and have always enjoyed my experience, so maybe my visit last Sunday was just an off-day? I ordered the Super Food Scramble because I wanted something healthy and not too heavy. The scramble came with egg whites, spinach, broccoli, red bell peppers, zucchini, and added the turkey sausage for an additional charge. The scramble came with a nice serving of fresh fruit with melons, strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries and an English muffin. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with turkey sausage and potatoes. Our food took a while to come out, at least 20 minutes. My food looked great, but the scramble was watery and had no flavor. I tried putting Chalula on it, but it didn't make up for the watery texture. The service started off great, but since it was an hour before close, everyone was busy trying to get their sidework done and it was difficult to get refills on iced teas and coffees. We just did without. My husband's burrito and potatoes also had no flavor. A little disappointing in terms of food quality and service. Although the experience could have been better, we'll probably try Squeeze In again sometime in the future. Modesto needs more fun and cool breakfast spots like this one.

I've always wanted to check this place out because of the reviews and finally got my chance. First off if you're going on the weekend be prepared to wait. There's usually a line, ok that's a positive sign the place is good. When we were called to a table my excitement was noticeable. My friend snickered I'm sure. As we walked into the funky establishment I looked at the patrons food. Yes, I admit it. So may options are listed on the menu. I go for savory of course while he, of course, goes for sweet. He ordered some sweet pancake thing As we waited for our...food and waited for our drink..it was crowded ok! Making a point here! I lo9ked around at the walls, the ceiling and the crazy decorations. Again a funky vibe with bright colors, alien stuff and whatever else. We liked the place a lot and have been back several times. With the cost of the world nowadays we don't go out as much as we used to. But when I stay over his place, he lives closer, and we have extra cash and wake up early enough we try to come in here for breakfast.

Squeeze In is definitely a spot I'd go back to. The food was honestly amazing. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but once the food came out, it was clear why the place was so busy. It was absolutely worth it. We kept our order pretty simple, but everything was done so well. I had a pancake with scrambled eggs and sausage, paired with country potatoes and orange juice. The pancake was fluffy and flavorful, not dry at all, and the scrambled eggs were soft and perfectly cooked. The sausage had great seasoning and a nice bite to it, and the country potatoes were crispy on the outside while still tender on the inside, which is exactly how they should be. We also ordered the Hangover Cure, and it definitely lived up to its name. It was hearty, filling, and packed with flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that care goes into how the dishes are prepared. Nothing felt rushed or thrown together, even with how busy they were. Overall, the food quality really stood out and made the wait feel justified. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, and it felt like a place people genuinely enjoy coming back to. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the wait time, but the food itself was delicious and satisfying. If you don't mind a short wait for really good breakfast food, Squeeze In is absolutely worth checking out.

This place is squeezed In (see what I did there?!) a corner of the Raley's shopping center. It is open for breakfast and lunch but gets really busy during weekend brunch time. There is both inside and patio seating. I love their menu! It's fun to read, and it has pictures for all sorts of items. There are a lot of items to choose from, but that never has diminished the taste or timing of the food. The food is more of comfort style, with some creative ideas in there as well. I believe Bobby Flay featured them on one of his TV shows, which is why several dishes are named after him (maybe not this particular one - they are a small chain but must be franchised?). This one is owned/run by a mother and son, if I remember correctly, and they do a great job! Everyone is super friendly and service is prompt and attentive, with everyone helping each other out, whether it's bringing the food, refilling, water, or coffee, or checking in at the tables. We told them that we were on a lunch break break and they made sure to get us in and out on time, since we came during a break in the crowds. They have different items you can order if you have allergies. This is great since I avoid gluten. In fact, when I was ordering, I asked if they had something on the menu, which they didn't, but they had the ingredients, so they made it for me. Cream cheese scrambled eggs with green onions on top! Yum! Talk about making the customer happy! Most plates seem to run about $15-$20, but the portions are good sized. Most of the time, I have leftovers to take home. Give this local place a try!

The stars don't represent the food. The food was good. If you decide to still come here after reading my review, large portions were given so don't be afraid to share a dish with someone. But the service, man, it wasn't good. I'm from Modesto, but I now live in Truckee, and the original Squeeze In we have in Truckee has fantastic service. This Modesto franchise is giving Squeeze In a bad name. To the Mo-Town Manager: train your employees, the food will only cover up the poor service for so long. and Don't let the confidence of being located in the middle of stucco mini mansions (Village One) think your employees can slack either. There are plenty of other breakfast spots to choose from. When I'm back down visiting family we won't be back, if I want some Squeeze I'll stick to the Truckee location. No one likes being forgotten by their unapologetic server. read more

Squeeze In just keeps getting better. For spring Alfresco dining they have imported a full chorus of happy chirping sparrows! One even perched not five feet from me to do an encore solo as I savored a perfect Veggie Eggs Benedict and fresh coffee. Danielle kept the coffee coming and was as perky as the birds, only a bit cuter because of her sprinkling of freckles and beautiful smile. First time today with the family and the place is pretty good! Clean and service is good, with everyone working smiling. I would say though for the type of food and serving size it's over priced. I would have to say that for the money you can definately do better. Its not so much the food was bad because it was decent, but was not priced accordingly. Its a smaller place and I like the vibe and customer service good but the food was average at best and pricey for what you get. One can get an equivalent breakfast for alot less at the Waffle House. If you want to spend the money go to Surla's downtown, all you can eat and unlimited mamosa's is included for what you would pay here. read more

Great small breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. The owner works here and is interactive with the customers. The vibe is pretty chill. The food is well prepped and a very abundant choice. You might look at the menu and think its high because you can get a $2.99 breakfast at Denny's, but you get what you pay for. Squeeze In is worth every penny. Don't believe me try a hail mary bloody mary, but you might want to get an uber ride home. Lol read more

I visited this restaurant the other day. I was met by a very friendly server named Laurie. She spent time telling me all about the restaurant and the menu. I had one of their delicious omelets with their specialty pancakes. The portions are huge...I actually took half of my meal home. Laurie was so upbeat and friendly...definitely an asset to the restaurant. While I was enjoying I actually met a very nice man. We had a great conversation...the restaurant never rushed us out. This has become one of my favorite restaurants. I'm new to Modesto and so happy to have found a great breakfast place to visit. read more

Portions seem to have become much smaller at some time since opening. You expect more from a $16 breakfast. Service was very, very inattentive. Coffee cups should not sit empty for 15 minutes at a breakfast spot. Server dropped off food and never came back. Had to flag down other employees for refills and ketchup. This new place rocks! I love the hand-painted art on the ceiling and we even got to add to the walls by signing our names! The Wait was worth it, and considering they just opened, food came out in a timely manner! I had the Aikane omelette with ham, pineapple, cream cheese- yummy!!! Tried it with amazing cheddar cheese sauce! My kids ate all their Sophia buttermilk pancakes and my son customized his own omelette- awesome sauce! completely messed up our order and the re-make of the food had hair in it. chefs don't wear hair nets , gross. avocado doesn't make up for terrible service. brought the food back out with no silverware as well. place is down hill. To keep it short, we experienced marginal food for a premium price, along with slow distracted service - (not at all friendly). Why are there not more places as good as this in our Valley? This place is something you'd find bustling with people in downtown Santa Cruz. It's truly out of this world, or out of this Valley. We've had their waffles in many offered varieties, even their stuffed version *drool*. Their pancakes are satisfying and their omelets are what I come after time and time again. Not a fan of their sausage they use in these, but thats quite a simple fix! I may be coming on too strong, but hey, when you find the ONE, you just know: Squeeze In is the ONE. I have to say I'm one of the lucky ones that can walk or ride their bike to this restaurant and I am so happy about that because their food is amazing. I love their breakfast and the plus is I can have a mimosa or bloody Mary with that as well! Today I was recommended the Jack Johnson pancakes and that may have just changed my life forever although I'm not a pancake person I am now I cannot believe how amazing they were the honey butter all around the plate was amazing amazing amazing I can't say that enough! read more

I love the food here, especially the vegan options and the atmosphere. I don't know the owner, but come here enough to see that she is very caring of her business and her community and is not afraid to stand up to disrespectful and truly unreasonable customers who ever and from where you come from. I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.

My boyfriend and I have been to Standard Pub several times during the day, and every visit has been fantastic. We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. After discussing it with them and explaining that additional charges should be clearly communicated to customers, the service charge was ultimately removed. This review is not a reflection of the food, which remains excellent, nor of our previous experiences at Standard Pub. It is solely based on the service and handling of the situation during our Saturday night visit. We left feeling disappointed and confused, especially because this establishment had earned our trust through many positive visits in the past. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that management addresses these issues so other customers don't have a similar experience

There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.

Looked like a nice place I wish I could try. Went in open minded and hoping for a good experience. Sadly I was not able to this with my family because of improper communication and overall lack of communication. Went in around 10:45 was told a 20 minute wait by a gentleman. 20 minutes is not bad, not that many people on the waitlist at the time and everything was reasonable. Waited 30 minutes and checked in with the hostess given the time we waited as well as the fact that I noticed plenty of other groups that came after I did get seated first. When we checked in we were told yet another 25 min on top of the 30 minutes I have already waited. Having been a worker in the food industry I try to be very considerate and patient as a customer. I understand things can get busy and things can change. However, having a group of 3 take up table that could seat a group of 5+ then and be told to wait 25 more minutes on top of 30 minutes (almost an hour total from the original 20) I decided to take my business elsewhere. I ordered the Racy Tracy omelette (subbed the bacon for ham) and it was delicious, especially smothered in that dynamite tomato pesto sauce (personally, I think they should bottle and sell that stuff)! The side potatoes were plentiful (couldn't eat them all) and the mimosas were good (no watered down drinks at this place). This place is really great. Their menu is huge, their portions are huge. But the best part is they don't only not skimp on portions, but it is high quality and fresh tasting. I've eaten here now 3 times in the last week. The first was really good, but the second and third were just as good, so now I know they are consistent too. You can tell they are new and still learning, but the folks really seem to care about each person that walks in and about each plate they server. The wait staff is very personable. The food is delicious. On the weekends it gets pretty busy, so expect a wait. This is definitely one of my favorite places for breakfast in Modesto!! read more
