The only place we'll eat breakfast in Truckee. Came here for my 50th birthday breakfast. So glad we did. We had the Manly Morris and short stack of buttermilk pancakes (ginormous). The biscuits are to die for. Everything was delicious, including the Mimosa. It would be great if they had hash browns but with so many amazing items on the menu, you won't really miss them. This place is fun, we enjoyed our visit and writing our name on the wall. However, the food was unfortunately lacking. I don't usually like complaining, but this time I decided to say something. Reason being is because right on there menu it says they guarantee 100% satisfaction on your meal is on them. When my food came out and I had taken a few bites the waitress came to ask how it was and I informed her that it was not very good that I expected the turkey in the breakfast burrito to be ground turkey not cold deli turkey and for some reason the burrito was kind of watery. She just said oh yea its deli turkey, she didn't offer remake it or offer me anything else. I basically only ate the side potatoes which were good. So when the bill came without a discount or my burrito removed I asked if they could remove the burrito from my bill as I didn't eat it and that I would still pay for the potatoes as I did eat those. The waitress told me she would have to go ask the manager and then came back and said it was removed. First why would you have to go ask the manager when your customers satisfaction is guaranteed on the front of your menu. Second, she didn't apologize once just removed the item. If it wasn't for the fun vibe the place had I would rate lower. Maybe its not a breakfast spot? But there menu also claims to have "the best omelets on the planet." Picked this place bc the food looked really good and it sure did prove to be true. I have the say the hostess was not very friendly. We put our name in and she quoted us 30 min, so naturally, we walked around the area and shopped. Within five min, they texted my friend who wasn't expecting the text so quickly, bc it had barely been five min since we walked away. Note: make sure you are back within THREE minutes after receiving your text, which was only mentioned to us after the fact. We inquired with another hostess/waitress and she said we were definitely next, and we were. Once they called our name, we walked in and the original hostess was talking to someone else. She didn't walk us to our table, but rather pointed to the table and said, "Round table to the left." OK...... Now this is the part that earns them their four stars from me. KATIE! Katie was our waitress and she was AWESOME. I mean if anyone gets an award for 'waitress of the year' Katie deserves it. She was extra attentive and checked up on us every so often. I called to inquire about the wait and was told to go to the website to put myself on the wait-list for a 20 minute wait. After spending 15 mins trying to do so and having the system glitch me out while trying to create an account, I called the restaurant again to attempt to explain the situation. I was greeted on the phone by Danielle who was extremely rude and short and wouldn't hear me out about the issues I was running in to. I had the whole family in the car with kids who were all hangry and getting restless and the hostess wouldn't Evel let me explain or help me work through the technical issues... Severely disappointed and blindsided from the reviews. I would leave zero stars if I could. We put our name on the waitlist, was sat fairly fast upon a arrival so kudos for that- everything went downhill from there . Our server Ben was horrendous, and that's being fair . We ordered the Racey Tracy, the chorizo Benedict, and a mimosa. I'm not over exaggerating, 40 minutes went by, and we started to wonder what was going on. I went to the restroom and saw our server- I ask "Does the mimosa come out with the food?" He looks lost and says, "My mistake". At that point it was completely obvious he forgot our food. It was an hour before our dishes arrived , and they were just okay. Honestly the horrible service ruined it all, and lack of hygiene from the staff. Our server had dirty fingernails , and the other guy working literally had his ass crack out right in our face when bending over to pick up plates from the tables next to us. Do the owners have any idea what kind of staff they have on Sundays ? Maybe their worst cooks and servers work on Sundays because I'm very confused at all the 5 star reviews. Ben had no problem dropping our check 10minutes after our food arrive saying "no rush". So there's "no rush" to bring out the food but rushed to pay? We should have left after 30 minutes - hands down the worst $60 I have ever spent . I would have rather taken that money to a deserving waiter/waitress right down the street . I LOVE Squeeze In! This location can get extremely busy, but I have never found the service lacking. In fact, they even have a frequenters program where you can rack up points for discounts, and they send out a $10 birthday coupon, which shows that they truly care about their customers. The food is consistently lovely, and the portions are massive. The plentiful vegetarian options also make me feel like I am not confined to ordering the same 'ol thing every time. I always enjoy the Huevos Montanas-- their version of Huevos Rancheros. Top notch. I recently ordered the Veggie Eggs Benni, but I was a little disappointed with the Hollandaise sauce. It could have been more rich and creamy. The dish was still delicious. I absolutely love the kitchsy way Squeeze In is decorated and the customer writing all over the place. To me, it is very charming. There is even a spot in the back wall where an ongoing story is being written by diners, piece-by-piece. My favorite part was that I didn't have to really wait despite a 20-45 minute wait list because of Squeeze In's and Yelp's waitlist feature. You have got to do this. Looked on Yelp for a breakfast place near Kings beach since the Log Cabin restaurant has recently closed and this place was the first on the list. I remember hearing about this place on the food network and was afraid it wasn't going to live up to the hype. I was so wrong! First and foremost the place is so cute and quaint, with lots of kitschy decor and the walls marked with signatures by everyone that has been here before. We were greeted with a beautiful smile from Tiana and even though it was a Monday the place was still pretty busy and she apologized for us having to wait. Tiana made me the BEST Bloody Mary I have ever had! And promptly took our order. The food came out fast, hot and so delicious! We ordered a pumpkin pancake, being pumpkin season and were accidentally brought a regular buttermilk pancake. Tiana apologized for the mix up and brought us the pumpkin pancake, which is to die for and highly recommended! The food was delicious, left us feeling full and satisfied! Upon arriving we were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait, so we put our name on their waitlist and went to grab a coffee. We were texted after about 20 minutes that we were up next! Yay! We went forrrr: -- Vegan Chilaquiles // Crispy tofu, black beans, avocado, tomato and jalapenos over corn chips soaked in red or green (I went green) salsa, can you say Y U M. A tad undersalted, with a couple of shakes and some hot sauce these really hit the spot. Would definitely get these again in a heartbeat! -- Vegan Southwest Spudz // A ridiculous pile of crispy potatoes with broccoli, onions, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and black beans. Also comes with your choice of red or green salsa, but our server was kind enough to give us both! Again, a little under seasoned, but the salsas were great and we added hot sauce as well. Everyone we encountered at Squeeze In was kind, and we were glad to have more than one or two vegan options to choose from. This was hands down our favorite spot. There was a wait but well worth it. Portion sizes were not skimpy in the least (even with the champagne in their mimosas)! Service was phenomenal. Food...
