Aside from cooking my "over-easy" eggs until the yolk was hard, leaving shell in our friend's scrambled eggs, and finding ham in my wife's vegetarian broccoli dish, we mostly enjoyed our second visit to Squeeze In. First time was much better, and honestly I don't think we'd go back. Amanda was a great server and went out of her way to be friendly. She also hustled from table to table and was working very hard. She even took time to put salt on the rim of a Bloody Mary for wifey, even though they don't typically serve them with salt here. However, it's not just the server that makes the meal great. A $50 breakfast for 3 means the cooks should not be rushing our plates and messing up ALL THREE DISHES. Yes, youre busy and it's a quarter-to-closing. Youre not closed. My wife was pretty upset at the serving size of her broccoli dish. Also, she was sure they accidentally left the garlic out of it. $8 should get you more than the small portion she received. It's broccoli! And ham in a vegetarian dish could have been very upsetting if this were served to a vegetarian. Totally unacceptable. Like I said, I doubt we'll be back after the disappointing experience. Time to try somewhere new! read more

Came here on a Sunday midmorning so we already knew there'd be a wait and didn't mind. Parking around this area was fairly easy for me. Awesome decor for this restaurant, you could leave leave a piece of yourself on the walls and thankfully i had a sticker from a cheese shop on me. Hah. It was fun and interactive. Service was good, I got my coffee refilled when needed but nothing out of the ordinary. Bossy hostess telling people to move around after she had already seated them but whatever gets the people moving Big many and so many things to choose from! Biscuit and gravy- never had this dish before sounds like an odd thing to eat since I only like butter and jam on my biscuit. Took me a few bites to get used to the texture but my it was delicious! There were some meat chunks and it was rich and fatty... think I'll come back for this. French toast- one of the dish that I was excited to try since it's a breakfast classic for me. I ended up disappointed, the toast itself was dry and underwhelming. I don't know what happened :-/ even syrup couldn't save it , I really wanted to love this dish. Crab eggs benedict- OK, nothing spectacular or memorable. It was enjoyable to eat but the hollandaise sauce needs more flavor and richness to it. I'm a huge eggs Benedict fan can't help it, if I am to consume the calories it has to be worth while. Will eventually try this place again since i might have came on an off day? Add the fact that you know have to pay for parking in Truckee and ka BOOM, your price just went up to $50. Kinda pricey, I thought, but maybe it was just the sandwich I ordered - the French dip. The meat looked and tasted like leftovers, a little on the dry side, so I'm glad there was an extra cup of au juice to bring a little extra flavor. Ordered the Racy Tracy as I just happen to love mushrooms and avocado when it comes to omelettes. Boom - best omelette I ever had! It was surprisingly filling for the size and made with care. I did upgrade the spuds on the side for 1/2 biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was light but don't think it was made in-house but pleas correct me if I am wrong. The gravy is creamy with no noticeable sausage bits in it but it has that pepper-y zing that I like. I had better biscuit n' gravy but it's very good here and will always swap the spuds for this every time. The slice toast had too much butter for my liking and would had prefer it plain. Service is an hour or so wait but I like how they let you know your table is ready by notifying your cell phone. This way you can hit the town and act touristy while you wait. Wait staff was very friendly and greet you with a smile. Solid 4.5 but rounding up to a 5 now as biscuit are from a house made secret and appreciate it for letting me know*. Strolling through Truckee on a sunny winter day, we stopped by here for an early lunch. The decor is very unique it is covered wall to wall in graffiti, not the spray can type, more like the bathroom graffiti where people write all over the walls. We sat down at a table for two, there was already a pitcher of water on the table for us, which grossed me out a bit as there were things floating in the water. I usually just drink water, but I wasn't about to drink any water from that pitcher so I order so oj, which was really good. My hubby had a veggie omelet and I ordered the Racy Tracy which was good, but it was 60% mushrooms which I found a bit on the excessive side for an omelet. The potatoes where cooked perfectly, lightly crisp on the outside! Prices were fair. Parking was okay, I found it funny that a small town like Truckee actually charges $1.50 an hour to park. If you're driving through Truckee and hungry for breakfast, you'll definitely like the food there, but it's not a great value. Breakfast is really expensive - it's solidly good, but not amazing, and it's really expensive. A $13 omelette and a $3.79 glass of not-fresh-squeezed juice is asking for criticism. I ordered the Racy Tracy - the eggs were a bit like egg-product, the mushrooms, avocado, bacon, and cheese inside were good. The breakfast potatoes were just ok - not nearly crispy enough. They do give you a lovely choice of sauces on the side. The toast was good, but small - one piece of multi-grain toast. I liked the Squeeze In, but I wasn't paying the bill. If I had been paying the bill, I think I would have been really irritated. If you're not paying though... go for it. read more

My husband and I arrived around 7:50am on a Sunday, and we seated ourselves at one of the few open tables. Then right at 8am, a bunch of people came in - so I guess we just beat the beginning of the breakfast rush. We shared an omelette and a scramble (the two competing entries in the Throwdown with Bobby Flay) -- the food was good but not as spectacular as I'd hoped. Perhaps my expectations were jacked up waaay too high due to the claim of "best omelettes on the planet" and the Food Network hype. However, the portions were large, and eating just over 1/2 of our meal kept us full for a good 5 hours even with vigorous attempts at snowboarding. Best of all, they had toasted the thin tortilla on the outside perfectly. My husband had a super flavorful light veggie scramble. I did not taste it because I was so busy with my burrito! My son had one of the kiddie combos and seemed to enjoy it. Best of all, we were able to go Friday morning and it wasn't crowded at all at the open. Seated right away, food came out at a reasonable time. The coffee was decent (although we've had better at breakfast diners). Service was great. They really cater to young children as they handed us a whole basket full of toys when we sat down. Too bad my daughter was too much of a grouchy grouch to appreciate it. VEGGIE EGGS BENEDICT - NOM NOM NOM I've decided I really like eggs benedict. But I really dislike hollandaise sauce. So when I ordered veggie benedict, sans sauce, it was nice for our server to recommend the homemade salsa (mild). It was very good! Breakfast came with potatoes (cheese and onions on top - or just cheese in my case). They were okay. I slowly ate them on the drive home since we had too much food to finish at the table. I had no problem finishing my eggs though! They were very good. Our coffee stayed full and the table we sat at had a checkers board built in, and pieces to play with. So that entertained us until the food arrived. It didn't take long to get fed and the servers were all very friendly as they walked by. Our friend paid for our breakfast too. The price is a little high, but the quantity, food and server explains why it not bad to pay. We sat outside, and were a little worried that the service might be slow. Have no fear, they were GREAT. Note that if you do NOT like your French toast dry, then it won't be for you - it was more "toast like" than typical French toast... It was good with the butter it came with, plus syrup. It had just the right amount of cinnamon, too. I also got the hot chocolate, which cracked me up due to the huge "mountain" of whipped cream on top! Another one of us got a breakfast burrito (see below), which appeared to have an entire avocado in it - not something you'd typically see! My only small complaint is that although one in our party asked for no sprouts on their breakfast burrito, the kitchen put them on anyways, and we then overheard (and saw), them pulling them off. My bf and I saw the Squeeze In on an episode of "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" so we decided to visit on a weekend trip to Northstar. So on the episode, the "mom" of the Squeeze in family was making her famous "Racy Tracy" and Bobby Flay was making a chipotle style omelet. Like most ski bums, I stumbled across this breakfast spot on my drive out to Squaw. Recommend this for anyone passing through Truckee. It was a Wednesday morning so it wasn't crowded and the staff was friendly and attentive - we got our coffee ASAP. I could probably stare at the menu all day with the creative and endless omelette combinations. They have a surplus of vegetarian and healthy options, which is also a plus. I finally decided on the 'Neighbor Jackson' - avocados, tomatoes, mushrooms, and jack cheese accompanied with the tomato pesto sauce and subbed with white eggs. Loved the creaminess of the avocado, and perfect for spreading on my toast. The tomato pesto sauce was a satisfying and flavorful switch from the standard ketchup. The creamy mushroom sauce also looked good, but potentially too heavy for me. My friend ordered the Racy Tracy and was equally satisfied. We left full enough that we could ski all day and didn't have to eat until dinner! read more

The waiter had the nerve to state you want a new toast right?! I was like what is going on here. Then he didn't even apologize and acted like our food was fine. We ordered the cream cheese filled French toast (queen Maggie) the omelette (shake and bake) and the BLT- two coffees and three orange juices. Our bill was $67.55! Ouch!! The food was good- large in portions size so plan on taking it home for lunch and you can easily split the entrees without any issues. I have to say the omelette was not that special. It was basically a well done egg with vegetables /meat just placed the middle of it. Didn't have much seasoning and in return was bland. For a $21 dollar breakfast item- it better be great. Way too expensive. The queen Maggie was delicious and worth ordering again ($14) and the BLT was tasty good flavor , ample ingredients/ bacon - and worth ordering again . We paid $12 for three oranges juices that were not fresh squeezed however they came in an extra large cup so we took them to go for the next morning. Seriously. The 4 star comes because of the GREAT service we received. Every single employee checked on our table. They all looked out for one another and made sure we were taken care of from the coffee to our order. We must have had three different waitresses checking in on us! Great customer service and way to look out for one another. This is how an establishment should be run. Our only complaint is that of the prices. A bit expensive for what you get. My husband ordered Roo's Buttermilk pancake Breakfast consisting of two large fluffy buttermilk pancakes with butter and maple syrup, 2 perfectly cooked over easy eggs and three delicious slices of applewood bacon. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad without croutons or garlic toast. The romaine, tomatoes and bell pepper were all chopped in bite-size pieces and perfectly tossed in a delicious creamy Caesar dressing. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked, still hot and sliced in bite-size pieces and topped with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.
