Good South Indian vegetarian food. Nothing fancy. Very good service. Thali is my favorite. Remind me of home cooked meals growing up.

The was best Persian cuisine in Austin! Very authentic!…read more I'm Persian (my dad's side) and grew up eating traditional meals. Oh, the nostalgia... so fulfilling to my soul, especially since my dad is no longer earth-side.

I decided to order a mini Persian feast: the beef koobideh with rice, doogh yogurt drink, and a saffron ice cream for dessert. This was my first time trying beef koobideh, and unfortunately, this just didn't seem to be very good. The meat itself was okay, decently cooked, and topped with quite a lot of some spice that I can't quite put my finger on. It was okay. The rice though, that is what really disappointed me. Persian rice is usually amazing, but this really didn't seem traditional and it had a strange taste to it. It also came with onion and a grilled tomato, both solid additions. Good portion though. The doogh yogurt drink wasn't homemade like I had hoped, but in all honesty, it still really hit the spot on a hot Austin day. Reasonable price. The saffron rice was also fairly disappointing. Large white chunks (clotted cream maybe? But they were pretty tasteless), gritty texture, not much flavor. Just not really worth it. All in all, a bit of a disappointing dinner in Austin. I'll have to look for a different Persian spot next time I'm in the area.

June 7, 2025 review ---…read moreWe visited this place with our friends and got paneer Pulav, rava dosa, poori aloo. We never had Pulav here before but thought of trying because it was listed as new item. My husband was craving for poori so we got the poori aloo and ofcourse, rava dosa is one of the best here so we didn't want to miss that. We got poori pretty quick and were told that other items were coming pretty soon. Rava dosa came after in few mins but it was soggy and cold. You can tell that it's not just came out of tawa. It looked like an old order to me. I asked to call the manager and told about dissatisfaction with rava dosa. He first tried to defend, then I asked him to touch and tell and if it's fresh. He said he will get it replaced and get a fresh one coming. Ofcourse that took 15-20 mins to come. Paneer Pulav was good. Not too spicy and it came with yogurt to balance. Rice was also sticking to each other so it looked like paneer biryani to me but ofcourse very balanced spices version. My friend also ordered the veg keema Pulav but I like the paneer one more. Service can be hit or miss so I'm reducing one star but overall good quality is good. Also when I visited this back in June, they had the buy 2 Pulav at a certain price offer going on. We looked at it later and checked that out cheque had individual priced for each Pulav. Manage gave the reason as we ordered two in 15 mins gap. He later offered us the balance as courtesy but we didn't take it. I think this should have been accounted while creating the cheque in first place. Overall good place for vegetarian south Indian food.

The appetizer was served last, and it wasn't even piping hot, as if they had just made it. You only get one tiny 8-ounce plastic bottle of warm water to drink, unless you go out and grab another one out of the pack in the other room. That said, the dosa is excellent, textures and flavors on point. Onion pakoda are crave-worthy, crispy and well seasoned. The spices are bright and bold, unrestrained, and deeply satisfying. It's fantastic that so many options are vegan as is. Unfortunately, the issues with payment was the final straw. I had a coupon that seemed to completely flummox the poor guy, and while fumbling with my phone, executed the transaction with Google pay, which is not at all how I wanted to pay. He "couldn't" refund it, for some reason. It makes me so sad. Seems like a great, family-run place with excellent food. I won't be revisiting.

We were served with tostadas and 3 different salsas which were very authentic and flavorful. Full bar avaliable. I had a frozen chamoy mango rita, perfect amount of sweetness and liquor! We shared the Civiche levanta Muertos- flavor was great however for 26$ there wasn't much seafood in there. We also shared the enchiladas de camaron it was so delicious, however I do feel the shrimp could have been a little more cooked. The enchilada sauce was very creamy and flavorful with a little kick. 10/10 recommend. The waitress was kind and attentive. will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I don't know if it was the way I dressed or looked, but he didn't seem very happy to serve his first customer of the day. 2. The location is a little "ghetto" for such a fancy restaurant. That's it! That's the bad list. On to the positives. OMG the food tho! I was upset that I had to pay $11 for one taco, but let me tell you, once the plate hit the table the magic began! The presentation was beautiful! I almost did not want to eat it because it looked so pretty. Then I took a bite...holy hell it was amazing! I had a Ratatouille, Anton Ego moment (if you have kids, you know). It was the best taco I've ever had! That's all I can say. And then came the deserts...holy sweet bearded baby Jesus it was Out-Freakin-Standing!!! I almost threw my glasses across the room! We ordered two different deserts and they were both out of this WORLD! I am only giving this place three stars because of the server and the location. But, if you can get pasted those things, you'll have at least a 4.5 star experience. Enjoy!

Fortunately, when the food truck owner told me it was near the Psychic Reading building, I knew precisely where to go. This food truck is in the back of a building, where you walk down a path to get to it. There is a sign that points to the food truck area, but not tall enough to catch your attention. Alas, I was there. One of the things I learned pretty quickly was the difference between a vegan diet and Daniel's fast. To be transparent, the Daniel fast is more restrictive. For example, you can only eat unleavened bread on the Daniel fast, whereas you can eat leavened bread as a vegan (bread that have yeast or other agents to make the bread rise). In addition, vegans can eat processed foods and use sweeteners, whereas with the Daniel fast, you only eat items that come from the earth. After deciding on what met my criteria for Daniel Fast, I decided on the mung bean noodles with vegetables. The food truck owner was super kind to make suggestions. The noodles were translucent with a bit of spice. I really enjoyed the noodles. Only one other couple was present, who appeared to be a regular. Overall, laid back environment. We are almost at the end of week one of the Daniel fast. It has been a time of reflection and cleanse.
