If you walk in on a random day you may see teenagers gazing at a wall, these are volunteers, there to fulfill their community service requirements. I have met a few volunteers that are great with the kids and excited to work with them, but for the most part they just sit there, which is not the staff's fault. My favorite activity that they do is music class, where a couple of volunteers come with bubbles, tambourines and music to sing and dance with the children, everyone has so much fun! Ms. Campbell, one of the directors is the absolute sweetest woman I have ever met, who deals so well with the children and their behaviors.

Came on a Monday morning and was immediately greeted and had to check in. Great cause with each box is able to feed a family of four which is always amazing. Packed boxes for rice, placed instructions on each pack on how to cook rice for the first hour and then transitioned to making boxes of green apples. Highly recommend if you have time please volunteer because your contribution does matter.

The 5 days (2 hour shifts) I was there we sorted apples, carrots, pears, built boxes (I liked doing that), made vegetable boxes etc. Sorting the bad batch of zucchini was tough but very satisfying to see how much we were able to salvage. They have a great staff who are helpful and friendly and super organized. I reached out to AAH and set up a time for a Smile Farm Tour. On the day of, we met with the tour guide and were taken on the Smile Farm Tour. The walking area is ADA/stroller accessible, but do expect that the ground may be muddy/dusty. My son was initially okay with seeing the animals, but eventually got fussy for the remainder of the tour. Some of the animals we saw on the tour were rabbits, (mini?) horses, goats, sheep, guinea pigs, and ducks. We were able to pet the rabbits and guinea pigs on our tour. We really enjoyed the tour and plan to bring our son again once he's a bit older. Parking was easy since we arrived in the morning. When we left, the parking lot was fuller since the farm is adjacent to a large park.

Just the perfect size to get in and out of there while enjoying a quick picnic at one of their benches. Pigs, goats, mini horses, donkey, alpaca, pigs, chickens, birds & lots of bunnies to pet & hold. We love this place sooo much we even adopted a donkey!
