Went here about a year ago for my ac going out in the summer . Was quoted about 3500 for the compressor , condenser , & labor . I have a Mercedes A220 btw. ( I should've have just went to Mercedes ). I had to return to the shop about 3 times due to my ac that was "fixed" going out again... No accountability no nothing. Kept saying that it's weird that it's doing that. I took my 2015 Fiat 500 here out of desperation (and because of a horrible experience with Sun Devil Auto this summer) when my car wouldn't start for a week. I dropped my car with Brian who I literally cannot thank enough. My car was having issues (Because old and because I wasn't keeping up enough with maintenance I think). I dropped it off on Friday the 19th and he called me the very next Monday with a thorough assessment of what was wrong. Along with his timeliness of help (despite it being holiday season), he called me and gave me a full run down with pricing and explanation which was also emailed to me in a quote (I am not a car guy! I am just a girl). What I appreciated the most about his help was that he was incredibly honest with me. He told me that, rather than spend my good money paying $5k for repairs, it would be wiser to trade my car in and get a new, more reliable vehicle. It's hard hearing that I need to go car shopping (was not on my Christmas to-do list), but as someone who does not have anybody in my life who can help me with car problems, I really am so grateful for his help and advice. He got my car fixed just enough to run safely to a dealer for a trade in, and that's exactly what I did. The dealer only took it for $500 too!! TLDR - fair price, great service, will return. I took my '21 Audi S7 into SSC for its 70k mile service and the fellas over there made it a breeze. Quick guestimate quote before I committed to the diagnosis and the quote ended up being very fair. I ended up replacing my spark plugs, cabin & engine air filters, and a rear differential fluid change. Dropped the car off at 8 and it was ready for me at 3. TERRIBLE!!! ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE!!! I took my car in twice in the same week to fix a loud popping sound and the car jerking when I turn sharply. They worked on it twice, charged me over $1200, and didn't fix the issue. This is a great shop to go to for regular maintenance or big repair jobs... Everytime I stop in for an oil change or something simple I get a full analysis of how my car is doing. Im not very car savvy but Adam always explains everything in words I can understand. Went to the SSC in Gilbert....same guys own both. Needed a ECM for my 16 year old jeep to pass emissions. That's an expensive part so the estimate was $2800, which is still better than car payments so I told them to proceed. When it was ready to be picked up he called and told me that he'd found a used ECM and my bill was now less than half of that! OMG, how awesome that he was able to save us so much money! He says doing right by people for 30 years keeps them in business. I'd say so. Friends for life! Go to these guys....can't recommend them enough! read more

Dropped off vehicle with my daughter for a check engine light and quick inspection. They mistook us for fools they called with over$3500 in repairs on a vehicle we just drove from Texas and it runs . I had a estimate in Texas but was heading home so figured to get it done by the house. Beware of the greedy service man. Will have work done and have thousands of dollars in my pocket. We know exactly what is needed with the vehicle and we were calling for a 2nd opinion and quote. He wouldn't do anything or quote anything without us paying $50. Not even a quote!!! I did not end up getting my truck fixed because of the age of the truck and the cost of the repair but it was a good diagnostic, thorough.

I made several mistakes in taking my car to SSC Auto Repair. I assumed that an independent shop would be cheaper than the VW dealer. Wrong! Second, I did not get a second opinion as to the cause of the two fluid leaks under my car. Dumb! Third, I did not ask for the used parts to verify that they were bad. Double dumb! SSC replaced a water pump on my 2010 VW Eos, charging me $376 for the pump and $17 for a fitting. SanTan VW (the DEALER!) would have charged me $297 ($237 wholesale) plus $8 for the fitting. So SSC marked the pump up almost 30% over retail and almost 60% over wholesale. Ouch! SSC also marked a high pressure fuel pump up from the VW dealer's $363 ($290 wholesale) to $521... 30% over retail and a whopping 65% over wholesale. Wow! As to the second and third things I did wrong...by not asking for the old parts, I don't know if the leaks were simply gaskets or fittings that had gone wrong. Another repair shop might have told me differently...and fixed things much more cheaply. So, I'm an idiot and I got screwed by not doing my research. Oh well. I won't be back. But it tells me two things you can't argue about. They mark their parts up way more than a dealer and that you can't always trust the positive social media input. Get a couple of opinions, regardless. And let's not even talk about the $50 "diagnosis fee" which was NOT WAIVED on a $1,750 repair.... OR..... $117 labor to replace a fuel pump that a guy on YouTube can do in 20 minutes. read more

After they ripped me off, I took it to another mechanic shop to look at and they stated that the parts were not replaced!! And the vehicle was still not properly fixed!! I am very pleased with the service and integrity of this auto repair shop. I had my front brakes and rear struts replaced and a transmission flush done on my Civic. I left very happy knowing that I was truly taken care of and was quoted a very affordable price by very friendly and professional staff. Another thing that happened- I took my car to another shop for a basic oil change. They called me letting me know that my car was finished and ready to be picked up. They also told me that 5 different fluids were dangerously low and that my engine was going to catch on fire. I decided to take my car into SSC Auto Repair to get a second opinion and after their technician looked at it, told me that everything was perfectly fine. The most amazing thing just happened!!! Nice people really do exist!! My husband just picked up our truck from SSC Auto Repair. Adam, the shop owner, was awesome and VERY fair with his pricing and sensitive to our situation. We've been having problems with our truck for a while and weren't too sure who we could trust with it that wouldn't charge us an arm and a leg. We took our Infiniti to the dealer and they told us two separate times that it needed a Serpentine belt because it was dry and cracking. We have used SSC once before and were pleased with the service and honesty. Adam called to let us know that the Serpentine belt was find, it was not dry or cracked. I recently had my 20111 Mitsubishi Galant repaired at SSC in Chandler, and can't rave more regarding their professionalism and ability to diagnose and correct the issues that I was having with the car. Initially, had to get a total rebuild of the original engine done back in the fall of 2019 by Arizona Engine Rebuilding (A DIFFERENT COMPANY DON'T EVER GO THERE). It was such a bad experience, and terrible work. The car ran horribly, made noises, smelled of fuel, and would not pass emissions. Upon bringing it to SSC, Adam was very understanding and informative. The technicians diagnosed and remedied several problems, and now the car rides, sounds, and feels like new. I enjoy driving it again and decided to keep it for the time being. I recommend SSC with complete faith, and will only go there for repairs in the future. read more

So I just called 20 min. ago to get a quote on labor times. The person I was speaking stated that they don't give quotes without seeing the vehicle. I can understand that to a degree but I also know they use a flat rate system. So there is a set labor rate. I was a mechanic for a long time (I don't have time to do the repairs myself nor have the space). So when they told me I would need to get my truck there before they could give me labor times for a few basic labor rates was really off putting. By the way they are the only ones that operate like that that I've found. So it makes me think they just make up labor times as they go. Because when I was a mechanic a certain job had a set time. It didn't matter if it took me three hours or an hour the job paid a set amount. So I would and recommend finding another shop. They seem like they will rip you off. read more
