He provided a comprehensive quote and answered all my questions over several phone calls. He was flexible with a start date because I was having other work done and he had to wait until it was completed. Their rating is justified! Had several leaks in a 25 year old house. Fearing the worst, called Todd and ask for a diagnosis. He said the roof wasn't too bad and I just needed some resealing and a couple other repairs. It ended up being 1/10th the cost of a new roof, if not less. Asked him when we could get it done, he said a week or two, no problem. Called me the next day and told me he was doing a repair job near me and did I want to get it done immediately, which I did. It has never given them any trouble whatsoever since then and when a subcontractor for a different company tried to tell my elderly mother that he found spots where the ceiling leaked, St. Charles & Sons Roofing came back out, got up on Mom's very tall roof, went inside our A/C housing space, took multiple photos of the ceiling and proved to us ( with photographic evidence) that the other company's analysis was completely erroneous! I called & Todd showed up. That in it self today in L.A. is a miracle. Always returned calls or picked up the phone and showed up at the time they said they would be here. Todd gave an honest bid on main house and 2 guest houses! The best was him telling us what wood needed replacing and mid project stopping that we needed new insulation. "Better to do it right". I Love that work ethic! His demo crew showed up all wearing masks during covid. Stripped all existing roofs, left the place as clean as they found it! Amazing! Then his roofing crew comes. Once we set the appointment, Todd showed up promptly, was professional and friendly and explained the entire process. We went with St. Charles and worked with Todd to re-roof our 1st home several years ago and had an amazing experience from start to finish. Todd didn't try to sell us on anything. He seemed very genuine and professional which is why we chose him to do the job. He was reasonably priced as well. If I could give 10 stars I would!! Todd St. Charles put a new roof on my house a few years back and I can't sing his praises highly enough! My house had 3 layers of composition shingle to start with so I knew going in that the tear off was going to an enormous amount of labor. We got bids from a couple other roofers. Todd came highly recommended and his bid was competitive. His crew showed up on time and did amazing work. During the process it sounded as if all hell was breaking loose, but in the end our roof looked amazing. The crew did an amazing job at clean-up and my property was left spotless when the job was done. From the flashings, to to the painting of the vents, and the overall aesthetic I was thrilled. Knowing that Todd guarantees his work gives me and even higher level of satisfaction and piece of mind. On somewhat of a separate note, I have to share an experience I had with Todd yesterday. I am a Realtor by trade and I had a unique situation arise on a property in which I am representing a buyer. Our home inspection was all set and the home inspector drove by the house to check it out as I had mentioned he would need a big ladder to access the roof. He confirmed that his ladder would not be long enough and that we would need one in excess of 25 feet. Long story short, I reached out to Todd, and on short notice, on a Saturday he was able to come to our inspection with his big ladder. This allowed the inspector on the roof, and Todd also got up there and gave his quick professional opinion. He spent some time educating the new buyer about roofs and when all was done I asked how much to make the check out for and he said zero dollars. I asked again in the off chance he didn't hear me and again he said..."nothing". Seriously?!?! This, people, is how you garner great referrals, a reputation for professionalism and make a lasting impression. In my profession people ask for referrals all the time, and I often will give 2 or 3 painters, or electricians, etc. But, when asked for a roofing contractor, I always give only 1...St. Charles & Sons!!! read more

He arrived on time, politely and patiently answered all my questions, and provided me a written estimate within 24 hours. I never felt as though he was exaggerating or upselling me. His open and direct manner was impressive. His crew arrived punctually every morning. They worked steadily each day, cleaning up as they went. Their pricing was competitive, and their service and workmanship was professional and excellent. Todd addressed all of our concerns, including the roof replacement around 4 skylights. Todd did a roof inspection/certification for a newly remodeled house we were intending to buy. He was very thorough and spent a good half an hour with us, gently breaking the news that the "new roof" really needed to be completely replaced since two major sections had been haphazardly patched together with very old materials and the underlying material had gaps where rain would leak into the house. He told us that he wouldn't certify the roof, even for 2 years, and therefore he wouldn't even charge us. The sellers tried to claim that the roof was fine but ended up getting several more opinions which all matched Todd's. Honest roofer, is that an oxymoron? Todd St. Charles has been my roofer for 18 years, through two homes. His work is top quality, he never tries to get you to do anything that isn't absolutely necessary, and he provides prompt service. I have recommended him to everyone I know. After inspecting a home I was considering for purchase he told me the roof was fine and I may never need a new roof during the time I live in the house. He could've told me anything, I'm sure as hell not going on the roof to check, but he didn't, he told me the truth which saved me money and didn't earn him a dime. The roof he did for me 18 years ago has survived weather, earthquakes, service people walking all over it, flower pots (flat portion) and satellite dishes. I never had a day of problems. The quality of his work is excellent, he doesn't rush or do sloppy work, he takes the time to make sure all the details are finished properly and nothing is going to leak for a very long time.
