We placed our order ahead because we were in a bit of a hurry, and unfortunately the system did not work well. Between the time we ordered two sandwiches , it would eventually be about 25 minutes before we actually received our food. The service at this location on Progress Parkway in Maryland Heights is despicable. I waited at the counter for 10 minutes while two women employees were talking and clearly knew I was there. This is now Paneras. Was here 1/8/23 w my husband. I ordered broccoli cheddar soup bowl with roll. My husband ordered pick 2 bowl of turkey chili and beef panini. My soup was Luke warm, my husbands turkey soup had unusual beans in it like chick peas, garbanzo beans and whatever meat it was had alot of gristle uneatable. There was an employee named Sam changing trash bags next to us, complaining about what he was doing. Then as we were leaving getting to go container the same employee Sam was complaining about having to clean the drink area! At the St Louis Bread Company in Maryland Heights, there are signs saying it donates baked goods to charities at the end of each day. Well, I know after taking a bite of my bread-sliced cinnamon crunch bagel, they missed one. If you live in St Louis, you know there is nothing like a freshly baked bagel, bread sliced, and spread with a thin or generous smear of cream cheeses. This was nothing like it because the bagel tasted nothing like that at all. It was if not 24 hours old, at least 8. Since this was at 7:00 AM, I will assume this was leftover from the day before. I wish I could say this was the first time I purchased day old baked goods, passed off as fresh-baked from this location, but it's not. This location is conveniently close to work, so I've ordered breakfast for co-workers, and was disappointed to experience that recognizable taste of day old bread. Usually when I go, I just get water to drink, but this time I felt adventurous and got some lemonade Blood Orange Lemonade. Not sweet; which was ok but it lacked any real punch to make me get it again. 1.5/5 Agave lemonade- Perfect amount of sweetness and just the right about of flavor with pop action. I would definitely get it again 3.5/5 Napa Almond chicken Salad: it probably would have tasted better if I would have gotten it on a croissant instead of white pan bread. I come to this Panera 4-6 times a week. I generally have no problem with food quality or service. However something they should look at in their processes is consistency. Tomato soup and Mexican street corn chowder are both favs of mine but more than 50% of the time I do not get the croutons or the tortilla strips for them. This makes for a less favorable experience. Also at least 25% of the time I do not get my sides (usually a baguette piece). This happened today! $28+ bill and both baguettes missing. This particular Panera Bread is not up to par with others. And this is coming from a huge Panera Bread fan. First off, they don't bring the food out to you like the others, you have to wait for it in line which is slightly inconvenient. Second, and most importantly, the food is not as fresh tasting. The bagel wasn't very hot and tasted like it has been sitting out. The cream cheese had liquid on the top as if the elements separated inside. My friend's soup that he always gets did not taste as great - according to him. The place overall was a lot more dirty feeling and the floor was in need of vacuuming. Multiple times my order was messed up: once I had a Baja bowl and the sauce was missing, the other time I had ordered two egg white and spinach breakfast sandwiches but one came without any spinach. On another occasion I had ordered two iced coffees with almond milk: one looked already stirred and tasted horrible while the one had swirls of milk in it and tasted good. Don't bother EVER going to this location. This store has screwed up more times than we can keep up with. And we order from there very frequently. They never send straws, napkins or utensils even when you check the box that asks if you need utensils! They're always late. They're rude to customers in person. They're vile to customers on the phone. Clearly they absolutely do not care what comes out of the "kitchen". Obviously they never check the order before it goes out. We have gotten food poisoning before from one of the soups. (They don't apologize unless you ask them to....incredulous that this happens so many times there. ) Shame on us for ordering again. Four times out of the last 12 orders have been completely wrong. New training is the very least this store can work on. The entire group of employees there needs to be gone. I order Panera from the app at least 3 times a week for rapid pick up, and each time my order is ready and I usually don't have any complaints about the way my food was prepared.
