The Orange Chicken could have used more sauce. It was a bit thin for what I am used to but packed a lot of flavor and even came with orange slices. We also ordered crab rangoons, which had sauce packets buried beneath them. The salad was very good. It was mixed greens with all the flavor and crunch one could ever want. My boss took me to lunch the other day and I couldn't have been more excited to finally check this place out! The menu is extensive and with a plethora of options, you're guaranteed a good meal. Hoping to get the most protein for my buck, I went with the new chicken, shrimp, and veggie bowl with brown rice. Ordering was simple as it was done at the counter and then brought to your table. Shortly after ordering, I got the shock of a lifetime when it was delivered to our table. The bowl was ginormous and was far bigger than anticipated. When I say big, I mean there were a good 3+ servings worth. The first bite was good! Although I wasn't sure how good steamed chicken and shrill could taste, the wine sauce more than made up for any flavor it would have lacked, I will admit the rice was a weird texture. I can't quite put my finger on it but it was different. One last thing I have to commend them on was how exceptionally clean the bathroom was. Went here after church service on a Sunday. It was really busy but the service is quick. You order at the counter, and are given a cup. You serve yourself drinks, napkins , utensils. The dishes are delivered to your table. Our order was accurate. The food is cooked upon order, but many things are prepared ahead of time and thrown together in the wok. It reminds me of a fast food takeout vs the Asian diner it is listed as. Must be popular as the line was long at times. The food was "ok". It is a big dining area, and the noise level could get just a little loud with the crowd. I go to this restaurant at least once a month. It is usually pretty good. Today not so much. I was in about 5 pm. Most of the tables were dirty and needed service. The men's room was filthy. The rice was under cooked and there was a cast of crew members that seemed to be new. One with very long pink hair that is unbecoming of a business environment. Customers should read reviews before visiting the Pei Wei restaurant on Olive Street in Creve Coeur. It makes me sad when I see families visiting this restaurant with happiness, expecting to receive good, clean food for their hard-earned money. I tried to tell as many customers as I could before they entered the restaurant, not to eat here because of the army of roaches that may very well have body parts in their food. Considering the managers using utensils to kill the roaches and not wiping off the pus and guts, and chopping veggies, food, and other menu items with the same utensils. The workers were told by the managers to step on the roaches before they reached the dining room. One of the managers, Johnny, has his out-of-control girlfriend, Shadia, working there, who throws dangerous items at him when she is upset. This is dangerous to the other employees. Crazy and unstable behavior between these two. This restaurant should be permanently closed. read more

We went to Pei Wei again. We have been here many times. Most of the time we get takeout. When we arrived the restuarant only had a few people in it. The restuarant is clean and nice inside. It is located in a small strip mall. The Manager greeted us and took our order. She was joking with us and did a good job. We ordered the Mongolian Steak, Thai Coconut Curry Chicken, Mongolian Green Beans and Spring Rolls. I really like the Mongolian Beef and Spring Rolls and my wife loves the Coconut Curry Chicken and the Mongolian Green Beans. Everything was very good and we had our order in around 10 minutes. Got an order of spicy general tso chicken and honey seared chicken. First thing we noticed is the chicken was cooked longer than usual. Fortunately that didn't impact the tenderness of the chicken in either dish. I usually order ahead with the app when I'm doing carry out but the app was having cookie problems. I shared this with the person taking my order and he got out his phone and he got the same error. He said he will let someone know. Just had a quick dinner here and it was better than I remember pre-Covid. I used to get the Mongolian steak and Hot n Sour soup, they no longer have Hot n Sour soup but the Mongolian steak was not as dried out and tough as it was 2 years ago. Their pork egg roll is pretty good also. The sauce on the steak is sweet and savory and goes well soaked in the steamed rice. My soul has been refilled a bit!!! I had no idea they had a gluten free menu until searching for things nearby after a doctor's appointment. There is an entire gluten free menu and section to order from! For it being the rush hour it was done in a quick 10 minutes! If you're local to growing up in STL county.. their bourbon chicken (which is gluten free!!!!) is super similar to the Bourbon chicken that used to be in the mall in the 90's and early 00's. I haven't had it since I was a teenager.. and now having to be gluten free has limited me in so many ways. We ordered one item without the sauce. The other I ordered well done. I know many think that is not right and she was very positive about our requested adjustments and made us feel like it was no problem and was happy to do it. Then when I wanted a bit more sauce for my item she got it for me. She even got my a kid to be able to bring the rest home. The food was great. Wife and I were hankering for some Chinese and decided to turn left and try Peilz Wei. It was busy but there wasn't much line and we had a choice of a few tables. Each got a bowl and tried 3 of our fave apps: fried wontons, pork egg roll, and Dumplings. We weren't ready for the high noise level there but we anxiously awaiting the delivery of the food to our table. The fried wontons were good, the egg rolls ok but with weird coating and frozen form, dumplings and sauce were off-putting. The Fire racket chicken was very average and the fried rice ($2.50 up-charge) wet and mushy. Anyway we left talking about the new Panda Express being built in Ellisville. This place was hopping on a Tuesday at the lunch hour. They get a lot of business, so be prepared for a line. There always seemed to be places to sit so either people were ordering carry out or staying just long enough to eat that there was good turnover. It seemed clean. Parking was a little inconvenient due to the larger than average number of reserved spaces in the lot, but there are plenty of spots in the back. Service was friendly although it almost seemed like there was only one "front" staff person and the rest were kitchen/cooks/runners. Menu was posted on the wall and showed pictures, ingredients, spice level, calorie count, and price, so it was a really well-done menu. Calories don't count the rice so it's a little misleading. I ordered korean bbq steak with brown rice and crab wontons (their version of crab rangoon). I would place the quality a step up from panda express. The wontons were a little disappointing. Not a lot of filling and it was a little fishy. The menu said it had real crab so I was expecting seafood, but it was just a little more fishy than I would like. Sauce served on the side was fine, and the portion of 2 wontons was just the right size. Korean BBQ steak was ok. It was a little spicy, as advertised clearly in the menu. It was just on the high end of comfortable so it was a fine spice level. I feel like it could have used a little sweetness, but it was pretty good. The portion was big and I was only able to eat about half. Plenty of veggies, mostly red bell pepper and onion. I liked it and ate my fill but I don't think I would order the dish again. I think this is a good option to get your "chinese" fix quickly and with better quality than panda. I wish I could give 3.5 but I'm not prepared to go all the way to 4. read more

Met a friend there, both craving Asian food. She gets there first and is sitting a very loud lady yells for her to get up and go wait in line. She was so rude, not just to us but others as well. I ordered the salmon poke bowl. When I got it and was eating, I realized it consisted mainly of rice. Hardly anything else with it.
