This has been for a long time, and still is, a sleeper for BBQ in St. Louis. Nestled in between a pawnshop and a gun store the BBQ restaurant has a practice range in the same building. An obvious plus if you enjoy staying current on certain skills. Getting back to the BBQ, the ribs steal rhe show the rub and glaze is just right for flavor that is mind blowing and the meat just falls off the bones. The pulled pork with any of their sauces (hot & spicy, sweet & Smokey, and honey) hits the spot too. The sides are amazing too, the Mac and cheese is well prepared with just the right amount of pepper, the green beans have plenty of bacon and flavor to boot. Neat concept to have a restaurant connected to a shooting range- made a good birthday suprise for my dad! They even have soap to remove lead in the bathrooms if you choose to eat after shooting. BBQ has a great smoke flavor, and there are many options of meat to choose from. 3 different sauces to choose from on the table, Sweet and Smoky, Sweet and Tangy, and Hot and Spicy. I tried them all and they were all very different and good on their own but, I mixed them together to shake things up. The fries were perfectly cooked, everything was yummy. Bonus points for Pepsi products! They have menus on the table, so you can sit and figure out what you want, then you go to the front counter to place your order. I switched it up a little bit today. Normally always get the pulled pork nachos. Trying to be a little bit healthier so I decided on the salad with one smoked meat, which was turkey. It was OK, pretty basic something I could've easily whipped up at home. It was just Romain lettuce, a half of an egg, a little bit of tomato, shredded cheddar cheese, and some croutons along with my smoked turkey. The turkey was very good. They did not offer a light dressing. That would be good to have for customers that are trying to eat a little lighter. I think in the future, I will stick to my pulled pork nachos and just plan ahead for the day when I'm going to eat the heavier meal. You really cannot go wrong with the pulled pork nachos. We seen the reviews of this BBQ place and decided to try it out. We are glad we did! The meat is smoked to perfection! They smoke meat daily. The ribs were to die for! The baked beans were probably the best I have ever had! The fries were also good. The battered fries are a little more crispy but I like both. I had a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and my husband had the half rack of ribs with fries and baked beans. His half rack looked like a full rack and they were so good! His came with garlic bread that was delicious! They asked if we would like a box but it was so good there was nothing left to take home! I highly recommend this family owned business. It is connected to an indoor shooting range. There is a patio for outside seating if you like and fountain drinks with the nice crushed ice. One note is to remember they are not open on Mon or Tues. I signed my son and myself up for a concealed carry class over the Christmas holiday, thinking it would be a time for us to knock the class out while he was in from out-of-town. Less than 24 hours before the class, it was canceled. While I understand low attendance might justify a cancellation, the way it was handled left much to be desired. When I called to request a refund, I was met with a curt response, essentially blaming me for expecting them to hold a class for just two participants. While I understand their perspective, they should also consider the inconvenience caused to customers. A little more notice--say a few days or even a week--would have gone a long way. We had adjusted our holiday plans with family specifically to attend this class. I couldn't help but wonder how they would handle it if a customer canceled less than 24 hours before--most likely, they'd refuse a refund. The lack of professionalism here is disappointing. Next time, we'll book with The Range. They've consistently proven to be courteous, professional, and reliable. read more

The ribs were ridiculously dry (but didn't have any bark on them), had a sad gray color to them and wrapped in foil loosely with what little moisture there was leaking on everything in the bag they were in. The fries were bland. The bbq beans had a really weird/bad taste. The greenbeans were over cooked to a mush. The slaw was sour and we both like creamy slaw. The garlic bread was pretty good. Wife's crispy chicken sandwich was ok but she still gave it a 3/5 We give the whole experience a 2/5. We won't be back. Today we decided to have this delivered for dinner and I AM SOOOO HAPPY WE DID!! I ordered the pick 2 which I got brisket and pulled pork. IT IS DELICIOUS!!! I'm not a big fan or smoked meats but the brisket just falls apart and is cooked to perfection! The pulled pork is delicious also! My husband got the 1/2 slab of ribs and he devoured his all in one sitting. He specifically said, "They def know how to bbq!! It is way better then salt + smoke or sugarfire." I totally agree! I ordered it medium well with fries and baked beans. As a fry expert, lol, they had some really great fries! Crinkle cuts are not the easiest to get right, but they did. The right crispness on the outside and seasoned very well. Baked beans were really good, not overly sweet or syrupy. My burger, it was good, not the best in city, but it was good. The ONLY reason that I'm giving this establishment a one star is simply due to the customer service that I received and the fact that I can't rate it at a zero for the outright prejudice that the staff displayed during my brief, first & last visit. When you're a business owner, the only color you should be concerned about is green. Though I was disappointed, I was not surprised in the least. This lesson cost me $38.24 and I'm just grateful that I didn't give more to an establishment who didn't care to greet THIS customer nor check to see if I enjoyed my meal or not. Just awful... I had the ribs, brisket, slaw and baked beans. Ribs dried out and just old. The brisket... no seasoning and who ever trimmed the fat cap left me an inch of fat. Slaw was a bad kind of unique. They use a vinaigrette instead of a mayo? I came on a Wednesday and I honestly think this meat was smoked over the weekend. Nothing tasted fresh. Interesting place because the restaurant is connected to an indoor shooting range. As you park your car and walk in from the parking lot, you hear gun shots coming from inside the building. I'm not used to that! The TV's in the restaurant show sporting events and surveillance from inside the shooting range - kind of weird. The prices are a little cheaper than most local BBQ places. A half-slab of ribs is $15. The special that day was $14 for a half-slab of ribs, two sides, garlic bread and a soft drink. That's a pretty good deal for a BBQ restaurant! I chose baked beans and green beans for my sides. If you want fries, there is about a $2 upcharge, which was disappointing. The ribs, baked beans and garlic bread were good. We just ate dinner here. We had the BEST ribs we have ever eaten. We knew they were good when we went. We have ordered them before and even ordered them for business events. Tonight is my first review though. They were so incredibly delicious, tender, flavorful and so very perfect. I can't believe we ate them all, just 2 of us. We typically split food or bring home at least a full meal when we go out anywhere. There was nothing left, and it had nothing to do with the full meal that we were served. We just couldn't stop. In addition to the ribs, the baked beans and potato salad were really good. I worked at a smokehouse while in college and used to make the beans. We filled them with all the meat scraps. They were amazing. I try to find beans like them everywhere I go, but never do. These were the closest I've ever had. The potato salad was fresh and the flavors were spot on. I know we will be going in to eat more regularly. There are so many more things to try. Tonight they also had smoked meat street tacos!!!! Can you even imagine that deliciousness! I don't know the owners or anyone who works there but this is the best of all BBQ I've had in STL and KC. Give them a try, you won't regret it. The two stars is really a kudos to them for eye appeal in regards to how they plate the food. It looks more appetizing than it actually is. The environment is not warm or inviting at all. If you feel like an outsider coming in here, expect them to make it worse. The meat was alright, a 3/10, definitely way better barbecue in STL.
