I mean, sure, I can do that. But when did that change? And why was a technician I've never seen before so condescending about it? He was downright hostile. Then the other guy chimed in and accused me of interrupting him. Honestly, gentlemen, I asked myself, "Is it worth it to schedule an appointment with you, if I know it's going to be you calling me to tell me any additional work that may need to be done? Do I trust the two of you?" The answer in that split-second moment was no. The arrogance, sarcasm, and belittling behavior by this pair made me realize I wouldn't trust these two to be the communicators of my mechanic shop. When I asked where the two old guys went, Kyle said with a smirk, "They went where all old guys go." Um, did they die? No, they retired, thankfully. And whenever I expressed any nervousness about them trying to upsell me, he's always told me to just give him a call if anything sounds off, and he'll advise me on what to do. Recently, I even had a situation where I texted Jeff about a light coming on in my car during a roadtrip. I wasn't sure if it was safe to keep going (the manual was extremely unhelpful, saying both that it could be a situation where I needed to stop and take my car in immediately or to just have it looked at sometime soon), so I texted Jeff a photo and asked what he thought. Jeff got back to me right away, and -- with the caveat that he couldn't be certain what was going on, since he wasn't there looking at my car -- he gave me information that made me confident that I could safely keep driving (spoiler: he was right). He then looked at my car the following morning and got the issue fixed (the problem had been a loose gas cap, as he suspected, and the system just needed to be reset for the alert light to turn off) in under 5 minutes, free of charge. And he even told me he was so glad I felt comfortable texting him about this! I've been taking my car to Jeff for over 8 years, and I can't recommend him highly enough.
