If you would've told me that someone was hurt, I would've taken it back the next day. But that option was not provided and then I was made to feel bad about it when I complained that the appointment took so long. They also misdiagnosed a problem with vibration in my vehicle. I ended up replacing the front struts, which probably would've needed it down the road, but it was not urgent or the cause of my problem. They also quoted over $500 more than any local shops for the struts. They were even more expensive than mitis! And they wanted a down payment as a deposit for the work. I've never seen this before. Not just here but anywhere! The kicker is that it was not the struts at all, instead there was a driveshaft problem that they should've seen because I asked them to look at the alignment, steering, and rear differential. They also missed the fact that a rear strut was leaking during that same check (which should've been obvious if they were actually checking the rear differential fluid). When I called to ask why the service was so inconsistent with the actual issue, and to see if they would issue me a refund based on the extra work I had done because of them, I was hung up on. I'm not sure what's going on with the manager but she used to be a very nice person. Not lately. Don't get me wrong, are used to rave about this place. I even took down a five star review in which I joked that I hope they did not get too popular because I liked getting good appointment times. I wish this place was good. They were good for a long time. Not anymore. Watch yourself. Who asks for a deposit especially from a long term customer - over six years I've been going there and always trusted their suggestions and prices. Maybe COVID has affected the way they do business.

After doing my own research, it became clear that not everything on the list of repairs were safety-related or required by the state. Only after pressing the issue did the mechanic (named Malik) agreed and revised the list, which already raised red flags about trustworthiness of this shop. The experience only got worse from there. I dropped my car off early the next morning, as instructed, and called later in the day to ask Malik when it might be ready so I could arrange a ride. Instead of a simple, helpful response, I was met with outright hostility. When I asked, "Do you expect the car to be ready today or tomorrow?" Malik curtly replied: "Your car will be ready when it is ready." I asked my question a different way. Malik replied with the same exact response, " It will be ready when it is ready" I tried to explain that I just needed an estimate to plan my transportation. Malik responded "What part of what I told you don't you understand?" This level of rudeness and unprofessionalism toward a paying customer is completely unacceptable. Clear communication and basic respect should be the bare minimum, especially when you're entrusting someone with your vehicle and paying for their time and expertise. I cannot in good faith recommend Fell Point Auto to others. There are plenty of competent and respectful auto professionals in Baltimore , Fell Point Auto isn't one.

In my Family's three cars over the years, they have diagnosed and repaired a myriad of problems and been very honest about what repairs are truly essential for safety and reliability and what repairs can be delayed. We have a 2016 Ford F150, an old 2005 Volkswagen Passat manual, and a 2009 Toyota Sienna. They keep us running great. They are often pretty backed up and so it takes a couple of weeks to get service but a couple of times when we had emergencies they took care of us right away. I try never to ask for rushed service but once or twice that I have needed it they have come through for me and him working extra hours to keep me on the road. I can't recommend sherwood auto enough.
