This place will STEAL from you. DO NOT GO HERE. "PETE IS NOT REAL" On 8/15/2018 I went with my coworkers to this place around 3pm. What I consumed was okay, seriously not all of that. Our waitress was an older white lady. Her service wasn't tip worthy but whatever right? I left before everyone else in my party and left a CASH TIP on the table. I then took my receipt and left, later on that night I was checking my withdrawals to see was a bill paid and noticed that my 20.57 payment was 24.57. I knew I didn't pay that much so I found my receipt and noticed that I took the "signed" receipt. I called that night and the woman that picked up the phone was very nice and understanding. She apologized and told me to call the following morning to speak with the manager "Pete" at 10am that Saturday morning. You're probably thinking 4 bucks isn't much right? Well it's called STEALING. I wondered if another receipt was printed and my signature forged and the extra tip added. Anyway I called 8/17/15 (he wasn't there that friday I guess) and some rude man picked up, all I did was ask for the manager and his response "well he's not here" me "oh okay, when will he be in" he said "in a couple of hours" I say okay. Mine you I called at 12:14pm 2 hours after he's supposedly suppose to be in anyway. So I called back a 3:27 same day, and the same rude man answers the phone. I simply say "Yes, may I speak with your manager he sighed and rudely said "he ain't here" I replied I called earlier and was told he'd be in later today, he said "well he went out of town so you need to call back Monday" I said so there is no manager that can help me (mind you he was given NO information) his response, "only he can handle stuff like that. SO CLEARLY he knew I was calling because this old lady STOLE FROM ME. And to be honest I think he was "Pete" So with that being said I've already contacted my bank, and will no longer deal with them. So we will deal with it on the level the offense was taken. IN A CRIMINAL MANNER. ALL MONIES WILL BE RETURNED. I don't care if its his grandmother, or aunt. A THIEF IS A THIEF! Everything about this place is great. I've been going there for years and I'm never disappointed. Go there enough and you're bound to become one of the family. The food is amazing (you can't go wrong on their menu) and the waiters/waitresses are always willing to give suggestions. The bartenders are attentive, the atmosphere is laid back and you will definitely always find regulars there....including Pete himself (and all of his bracelets) any day of the week. The patio is great for people-watching and fresh air. Yelp says it's not kid-friendly but it totally is. As a parent who's fairly restrictive about the environment I expose my kids to, I'd take my kids to St. Pete's any time. Because it's both a restaurant and bar, it's lots of fun but not raucous. People come in for a great meal with their kids quite often, and I see them sitting both inside and out. The patio is spread out and open but also contained, so it gives some wiggleroom to little ones who want to get out of their seats while still being within view of mom and dad. Overall, just an awesome and unique place with awesome food, great drinks and friendly people. Everything went right this time, which doesn't come as a suprise because it always does. Pete let me dig through the lost and found box as I had left my sunglasses there the last time. I was finally successful in finding them, but what was more interesting was what I saw while looking through that box. On the lost side, I saw humility, bad attiudes, hang-up, self respect and what looked like virginity. (I wasn't sure as it was really old and dusty, like it had been lost for a while.) On the found side, there was new friends, menu items, new attitudes and a bartender that was a true 50 caliber! Can't wait to get back there, done and done!! read more

Great place for a cold beer and an early dinner. I was visiting family (inlaws) in Dallas and just needed to get away when I stumbled across this place. Dropped in between the lunch and dinner crowd. As I sat down, I was asked what I wanted to drink, and was soon handed a Miller Lite and a menu. I liked the ambiance, and the cold Miller Lite, and ordered a cheeseburger. As I enjoyed my burger, and cold Miller Lite, my waiter made sure I lacked for nothing. It turns out that my waiter was the owner. I can see why St. Pete's Dancing Marlin is a great place to gather. There's a reason why St. Pete's has been in business for over 20 years. The food is consistently delicious. The service is friendly, attentive and professional. And, the atmosphere is fun, relaxed and kinda "second home" like. The menu is very extensive, offering basic bar food (burgers, nachos, chili dog) to steaks and seafood. The grilled Tuna steak is legendary and is served on salads, in sandwiches and as an entree. My favorite is the St. Pete's burger. But I will occasionally go with the Chin Chin Chicken sandwich or the nachos(best in town). My fave bar and restaurant in Deep Ellum (and Dallas)! read more

This restaurant/bar has stood the test of time in Deep Ellum. From the best food, and great drinks, this place has been a favorite of mine for nearly 15 years. Great pizza, great pasta, amazing chili! I could pretty much eat the chili and the nachos everyday, with a little tuna steak thrown in. The bartenders are like family, Paul and Rex have been there forever, I never actually have to order a drink, they know what I want. On Mondays and Tuesday, Pete himself is behind the bar, he's an involved owner - he knows everyone by name. Now that's how to run a friendly place...love my St. Pete's. read more

i love this place. whenever we end up anywhere close to downtown dallas, we end up at st petes. the people there are so friendly, a really fun atmosphere. they go from burgers to grilled tuna, Eskimo pies to baklava. they've got a friendly bar, quiet corners and a patio that rocks. people even bring their dogs; the kids love it. people from out of town have heard of deep ellum and want to visit, i tell em this is the place to go. read more

Yes, St. Pete's is as good as it gets for food, beverages, and a welcoming atmosphere for people of all persuasions and ages. Some cool pix on the wall, too. That singer guy with the hat and the guitar he calls Stella is worth the trip even if the food and service were not great, but they are, of course. My husband and I were visiting from Atlanta with our 3 kids. Found St Pete's on Yelp and thought the out door patio would be great for the family. What a find!!! We actually got to meet Pete and the kids haven't stopped talking about it! Hubbie loved the pasta menu I enjoyed the Tuna sandwich. Kid friendly menu and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Gotta give a shout out to the Dancing Marlin! I've been a patron of St. Pete's for years. The food is consistently good ,the beverages always cold and tasty, and the atmosphere is laid back; plus dog and kid friendly. It's the perfect place to take out of town guests, stop by for cocktails, or enjoy a nice dinner. I highly recommend St. Pete's for an authentic taste of Deep Ellum (no pun intended). read more

I dont remember when I went to a place that took care of me the way they do at St Pete's from the greeting at the door to the Thanks on the way out it made me feel like I was part of something GREAT !! I had the Tuna and Let Me tell you It WAS PERFECT !!! They Pour a great drink and The service was Awesome and The owner was on hand which was a Plus for Me . I will be back soon!! read more

I love the burger here. I dream about it. Pete is always on top of everything when I sit at the bar. Great selection of food and drinks. Locals are always hanging out, which is a good sign. It is reasonably priced. I feel like I can have a nice meal here, or just keep it casual with a sandwich or burger. I always send people visiting from out of town here. Amazing atmosphere. read more

Our food was great from the fried pickles, mushrooms, and stuffed jalapenos to the pizza , sandwiches and salad. But our waitress, Lacey, was horrendous. We had to go find Waters comma wait 20 minutes for drinks, go find sugar for the person drinking iced tea and they ran out of beers not one, not two but three of the beers we were drinking and the time they were there. read more

Its really unfortunate that in todays society a local business , such as this, engages in discrimination. I see reviews here saying Pete is such a great guy , if this is so, he needs to get a handle on his employees and management team. One of the long running good places in Deep Ellum. It's been here a long time for a reason. Great lunch place, just try to beat the crowd. By far my favorite bar in Dallas, and the world. I have enjoyed coming here for years. The drinks are great and the food is amazing. Anything from pizzas, to wings to Dancing Tuna sandwich or dinner.
