I love Hudson House. This is one of my absolute top picks for happy hour (weekdays 3-6pm). Outside of happy hour, this drops to a 4*. You do have to find a seat at the bar and it can be a bit busy but I assure you that it's well worth it. My favorite is the two seats at the end on the right hand side where you're sitting in your own corner and not elevated. Start with the frozen Bellini. It never fails me and it certainly packs a punch. The cheeseburger went up from $10 to $11 but you absolutely cannot beat that price. Absolutely a perfect well-balanced burger. I'm not a pickle fan but it does come with a huge, seasoned pickle. Do yourself a favor and get the truffle parm fries. Maybe oysters and a burger are a weird combo but it somehow works here. They have all the fixings to pair. I've tried a multitude of things here but I will say the overall portion size is a bit smaller than the value so I typically come for happy hour and nothing more anymore. read more

The food is fine, but not spectacular, and way overpriced for what you get. We had 2 orders of eggs Benedict, an egg sandwich, a burger and fries, and 3 diet cokes for around $100 before tip. The real kicker, no price for the soft drinks on the menu, guess I should have asked. They brought out 3 , 8 oz bottles of Diet Coke, and charged $5.00 per bottle. That is ridiculous. I think ownership should be embarrassed for charging that much for soft drinks. Doubtful we will return. read more

We stopped by Hudson house for an early dinner on Memorial Day before my flight and enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The restaurant is so pretty inside and the prices are good. Next time I'll be sitting at the bar during happy hour to enjoy the specials! We split a cheeseburger and Hudson salad (which was huge) and it was delicious. I could've been totally fine with just the salad! I got spicy popcorn chicken on top and the flavor of those were amazing. I normally don't go for bloody Mary's but I thought with how good their martinis are the Bloody Mary here could be really good too. And I was not wrong. The green sauce it came with was lovely but needs a little more heat in my opinion. Friend loved the chicken and has zero complaints. Key lime pie we were both puzzled about, because it barely tasted like lime. The crust had too much cinnamon that overpowered the citrus and made for an odd combination. My first drink also came out without the proper garnish, which took away from the experience a bit. That said, the visit still served its purpose overall. It seems like there were a good mixture between ages, table sizes, friend groups and couples. The service was great. Our waitress had many suggestions for our drink, but I'm a 'tini girl, so I stuck with my happy hour 1/2 price extra dirty martini w/ Bleu cheese olives. I ordered the fresh happy hour Oysters that came with cocktail sauce a cranberry mignonette. When I say amazing, I mean "Ah-mazing" I did not believe that I could eat all of them, but I slammed them down! They are $3 during happy hour, but there is a minimum of 6 to order. I also ordered the $10 happy hour burger. My friend ordered the truffle parm fries and the $10 happy hour burger. I cannot say enough about this place. Everything was so delicious! Can I just say that this place is so amazing and makes you feel like you are in another century somewhere near Savanah, GA. It takes you back in time with a beautiful southern/nautical flare that makes you feel like you will run into the cities most up and up. The flower arrangements and vases were breathtaking and I love, love, love, how uniform the them is throughout with the blue and white variations. The staff from beginning to end were impeccable! The professionalism, the crispness of the uniforms, just wow! We went for happy hour to indulge in their famous cheeseburger for $10, and the discounted selected cocktails. I opted for the French 75 and it was delicious! Strong, subtle, cold, perfect. I ordered the French Chicken which is served with a beautiful silky sauce, French fries, and a peppery arugula salad. The chicken is so succulent and juicy, chef's kiss! To finish it off, we ended with the key lime pie which was insanely delicious! Again, masterfully balanced sweet and tart, and the homemade cream on top needs to be for sale!! If it wasn't so rude and inappropriate I would've licked the plate! I will not ever set foot in Dallas again without making Hudson House one of my stops! ***Only downside, at this location, the parking is a bit of a nightmare. This place is well known for its gorgeous Christmas decorations, but they also had the best peppermint martini that I've ever had. The blackened redfish was incredible; it was basically a wrap with fish pieces and coleslaw inside. Not "fishy" tasting at all! Good size too. The truffle parm fries were yummy, and two of us ordered them as an appetizer even though it's a side. The Hudson salad with spicy chicken tasted freshly made and had plenty of avocado in it - even better! The chicken was breaded nicely and did NOT taste like cheap frozen meat. The parking is insane at the moment because of construction, so it was a bit of a nightmare to find parking and we were 10 minutes late to our reservation. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in by their friendly hostess. Our server came to take our drink order right away. I decided to try their Lemon Drop Martini and it didn't disappoint, it was deliciously sweet and very cold. For my meal I had The Cheeseburger, I heard is one of the best burgers in Dallas so I wanted to be the judge. The Cheeseburger was absolutely delicious, flavorful and everything you could as for in a cheeseburger. Is it the best in Dallas? To me it's up there as one of the best for sure, but maybe not #1. The skinny fries were so good, and perfectly seasoned. One things I didn't like was the seasoning on the pickle, but that its okay I can live without the pickle. This location is absolutely beautifully decorated for the holidays, making it the perfect ambiance for our yearly gift exchange and pictures.
