This is the MOST DISGUSTING AND UNPROFESSIONAL establishment I've ever come across, I am not sure why anybody would even leave a decent review. ISABELLA and ALESSIA from the cake department were taking two weeks to respond to a quote for a cake, like the picture below. I tried calling a few times to see if they had the quote ready for me, since the event of my party is now a week away, this seemed to have angered them and they quoted me $400 for the below cake.

    Sfoglia 6" cake with strawberries

I love their cannoli. If it wasn't for unnecessary chocolate drops they put in them, they'd be 5/5. Otherwise, I give them 4/5. Other than amazing cannolis, they have a good selection of cheese, cold cuts, all sorts of baguettes, pastries, cakes, prepared food, Italian cookies, gelato, etc. They serve quality stuff and local Italians love this place. I've been to several Italian bakeries in the area and this is by far my favourite one. On a side note, today, I tried their famous Sfoglia cake with strawberries. I have to say that it was tasty on the inside, but the whipped cream wasn't all that great. There was too much of it and I didn't like the quality. Essentially, it's Napoleon with strawberries, smothered in whipped cream on the outside. If you want a good alternative in terms of premium cakes, I recommend Amadeus on Bathurst, north of Steeles. Their cakes are more expensive but they're also more premium. I would compare Amadeus to a really nice cake shop in Paris that sells premium cakes.

The best bakery! I love the selection of delicious bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and hot table! My favorite cheesecake is from here. The strawberries are always fresh, and the cheesecake is very light and not too sweet. It is delicious and you must try it! The bomboloni donuts are so tasty! You have to try them as well! My favorite are the ones stuffed with Nutella! Yum yum!

If you are a fan of bakeries then you must have heard of or been to one of the St Phillips Bakery locations. If you haven't this is a must. St Phillips Bakery is one of the most legendary bakeries around. They have everything from bread, amazing hot table, amazing pastries, deli counters, small groceries etc... Although I don't have a St Phillips near where I live I recently had some friends come over for a visit and they were amazing enough to surprise me with some pastries from St Phillips. Although I did not try all of them the ones I did try were a decedent delight. There is no other way to explain them other than JUST AMAZING. I will let the pictures explain themselves. If you don't have a St Phillips Bakery in your area get out there and give it a try. If you are ever driving by a St Phillips Bakery make sure you make a stop and try some of their great items.

Been coming here for years. This bakery is a staple for the area. Lots of choice for Italian breads. I always got Italian buns, ciabatta. Try the croissants, really good! Spinach one of my favs.

Maybe it was because we came 10 minutes before closing on a weeknight but I was not very impressed with what I got here. I had high hopes and I am currently on the search for some of the best cannoli's in Vaughan/Woodbridge. I have read that pre-filled cannoli's are a no no and that made to order cannoli's are the way to go. I still had to give the pre-filled cannoli's the benefit of the doubt. I was happy that there were quite a few cannoli's left when I walked in. I decided to get 3 cannoli's, a vanilla cream custard filled pasty (don't know the name) and a strawberry tart, which was also filled with a vanilla custard. Out of everything, the strawberry tart was probably the best. The cannoli and vanilla custard pastry were soggy. Again, probably because it was the end of the day and they've been sitting there. The cannoli shell was not as crispy as I would like it to be and the filling was just meh. The other pastry was just completely soggy. I ate it as fast as I could. Maybe it's supposed to be like that? The strawberry tart was tasty. The strawberries were perfectly sweet and paired with the crust it was a perfect combo. The vanilla custard put it all together. I happen to be in the area and that's why I was able to make it in. If I'm in the area again, I'd gladly come back. From the pictures, the hot table looks amazing.

Now I know why I have been coming to St Philiips whenever we have time to kill, "When I was enjoying my Porchetta Sandwich, I thought to myself that this would be a good place to bring a friend for coffee & dessert outside of the lunch/dinner rushes. It had a certain VIBE to it that can allow you to chat while watching people come in and out holding boxes of pastries and breads." - WaYnE c. The fact that there is CP24 and TVs on whatever channels does help with the certain VIBE. Cappuccino ($2.50) always A-OK. Sweets or a quick croissant always tasted good. There are so many to choose from: plain, sweet (almond, chocolate) and savory (ham & cheese, pepperoni, broccoli, sausage roll, pizza bun, prosciutto roll..) I wondering when I will be back again, but it will be soon!

A neighbourhood hot spot for breads and hot table. Place tends to be slammed at lunch and typically chaotic. Food is very good and consistent having the same items most days. Everything is super fresh. Lunch runs around $20 per person so it's a bit on the high side for a hot table lunch considering the area having lots of options.

Cheesecake with fresh strawberries and sauce
    Kristy N.

St. Phillip's cheesecake is a place where you can get customized cakes on basically any design you want from blackberrys, beer bottles, coach purse bags and the miscellaneous "adult cakes". You can even add your own custom photo with an addition $15 when you upload it online. The one that I tried this time was the Strawberry Cheesecake. These cakes normally cost around $30 for 10-12 serving sizes, with the exception of a few of their specialty St. Honores collections which are around 12-15 servings or more. I never really used to like cheesecakes when I was small, but as I adapted to the Western culture I began to accommodate to it. Having tried different cheesecakes, the best part about this cake was the strawberries. They were giant in size, juicy and extremely sweet which may had to do with the sauce. The cake itself was fairly good with a moderately soft interior with a breadcrumb/nut like exterior.

And if it's a place in the middle of somewhere random, with no seating and looks like a factory, there must be something about this place. And I was very right. Bartholomew feels like a hidden gem with it's location and outlook, but inside are some of the best, or dareisay, the actual best pastries in the GTA. So much to choose from and so many options, you'll probably leave with boxes full like many of the others here. Be prepared to take out another mortgage with the amount you'll spend here. But it's so worth it. Buttery flaky goodness in literally every bite. I had the almond croissant and the chocolate cherry pastry and oh my gosh, their flavours are SO right. It's so fresh that it almost doesn't feel like I'm cheating. I'll be coming here again and again and again. Also, I reached out to the owners who confirmed that all of their pastries which don't have alcohol or meat items are otherwise fully halal, even down to the gel they use in some of the pastries! We love an inclusive bakery.

It is a LONG wait if you come to purchase in person (aka not a pickup order). HIGHLY RECOMMEND pickup option. We waited 45-60 mins on a rainy day. It is super popular! Some items were sold out due to popularity, but honestly not worth the hype. It is good pastries and a bit more unique due to their flavor combinations, but the execution feels rushed and dry. We had their croissants, which should be freshly made, but somehow it was dry, stale, and the only thing saving it was the filling. Not sure what happened as I've heard good things about it. Very much a swing and a miss. If we try it again, will definitely try to order for a pickup. Their sandwiches were much better, but there is standing room only in the cafe so its a pickup and go place. It is in an industrial location, so driving and parking is out of the way. For the location, it probably is the better option around (aka Vaughan), but either a bit west or east, there are better options without the long wait times. Try it at least once though, and try at least one of every item, you might find something you like, for me, it was their sandwiches, even though I was there for their pastries.

The Duo cake is great, not too sweet, and I also learned from this site that it's gluten-free too. They actually have good gluten-free options, given one of my family members is celiac and we do get cakes from here for her. I think at this point I've tried all the cakes on their menu. The pistachio macaron was also good, as expected. The bread is no longer discounted like before, after 7pm it used to be half price I think. It's been like this for a while now, but it's buy one get one half off, which is a bummer since I can't eat that much bread to make it worth it. As much as I do like their cakes and such, I wish they would add more savoury items and have some café lunch options too.

In a quiet corner of Woodbridge, La Strada Bakery defies easy categorization -- and therein lies…read moreits singular charm. What presents itself modestly as a neighbourhood Italian bakery reveals, upon closer acquaintance, something altogether more intriguing: a transatlantic pastry dialogue between the Old World and South America, shaped by the hands of a Uruguayan chef who brings both traditions to bear with quiet confidence. The cannoli are, without equivocation, the crown jewel of this establishment. Piped to order, the filling achieves a textural ideal -- sweetly yielding, impeccably creamy, and notably free of the aggressive lemon notes that so often overwhelm lesser versions. The shell delivers a satisfying, delicate crunch, its restraint allowing the ricotta cream to assert itself as the undisputed protagonist. These are cannoli that would draw admiration well beyond the borders of Woodbridge. One ought not to overlook the sfogliatelle, rendered here in golden, shattering layers, nor the cherry-filled donuts -- generously proportioned, freshly made, and possessed of a quality that lingers in memory long after the visit. The facturas, custard-filled and dusted with care, speak fluently to the South American soul of the kitchen, while the empanadas offer a savoury counterpoint of notable finesse. The space itself is intimate to the point of cosiness -- a handful of seats, a tall central table, and a glass case brimming with the day's offerings. The pace is unhurried, the atmosphere warmly domestic. Tony, the proprietor, greets each guest with a hospitality that feels entirely genuine -- the kind of welcome that transforms a transaction into something closer to a visit with an old friend. If one were to offer a gentle note, it might be that the sheer breadth of the offering -- Italian classics alongside Uruguayan specialties and homemade ravioli -- occasionally tests the boundaries of the compact space. Yet this abundance, curated with evident passion, is ultimately more virtue than flaw. La Strada is a bakery for those who understand that the finest pleasures are often found where one least expects them.

Tip: Collect My Crumbs rewards and redeem them for goods…read more It was a soggy, downpour of a Saturday. I was heading home, driving along highway 7. I remembered seeing this Crumbl store in Woodbridge, which is next door to Nations Fresh Foods. I decided to place an order and drop by. What was special about last week was that Crumbl had a lemon cake. I have had it before. It's excellent. I needed to get one. I parked closer to Nations and placed my order through the Crumbl app: - Lemon cake - 24-ounce (medium) EZ breezy I paid. I then took my umbrella and walked over to Crumbl. It was exceptionally busy at roughly 4;45 pm. Everyone was standing around. I frankly didn't know where I should be. There were a couple of self-serve kiosks where you could place your order. No one was there. There must have been at least fifteen teenagers who spoke French the entire time. They were lined up against the wall. This store has a washroom. It was my first time being in a Crumbl store with one open to the public. There was a young woman in front of me who kept on looking back at me and everyone else. It was weird and annoying. I saw my name on the screen. I was thrilled that my order was being made. I heard my name. My EZ breeze beverage was ready. The nice man handed it to me along with a straw. It was a bit difficult to poke my straw through the lid. Some of drink came up on the lid. I slurped it like the person who doesn't want a drop wasted because this drink was $7.55 before taxes. I will say that this drink was excellent. The EZ (I keep saying e-zed because I'm Canadian) breezy had Diet Coke, regular ice, sugar-free coconut, a lime wedge, and coconut cream. It had the perfect coconut-lime combination that I craved, along with Diet Coke. I was thrilled that it was a sugar-free drink that didn't suck. It took maybe an extra five minutes before my lemon cake was ready. The staring-behind woman stopped staring when I got my drink, followed by my cake. At Crumbl, staffers open the box to show you your dessert items. It was my first time seeing a staffer open up the box and accidentally squash some of the lemon cream cheese frosting on my lemon cake with his huge thumb. It was a bit sad seeing someone destroy a part of my cake before I got to. I don't think there's a policy to fix a cake that a staffer has messed up. I didn't think about it when it happened and simply took it. It would be yummy, whether the frosting was messed up or not. I put my lemon cake in a reusable bag to protect it from the rain and headed to my car. I then drove home, continuing to drink my EZ breezy. Delicious! I had the lemon cake later on in the evening. It was yummy just as I had remembered it. The cake was fluffy. The lemon tartness was perfect. The cream cheese frosting was lemony and heavenly. I was thrilled that I got to enjoy this cake again. I should try coming here after work and see whether it's busy. I had a good experience, despite having cake with a bonus thumbprint. (223)
