Since obviously that one star rating review, one below mine didn't have enough gumption to provide photographic proof of their "torturous stay" , I will mine, and as you can see, her review DOES NOT fit the rest of ours, and I wouldn't say the decor is vintage at all, I would call it seaside cozy; it's so cozy in fact, and the hospitality is so welcoming, unlike other hotels I've stayed in, that you can't find anywhere that I've ever stayed in in my entire life (and I've been to a lot of places), that I wouldn't stay anywhere else in this town. David, the owner, is such a down to earth, breath of fresh air, I've NEVER ran into a hotel owner like him. This place is only 5 units big, but each place pretty much has its own little cart port next to the room, plus every day David makes sure he gives fresh baked goodies from the Italian Bakery there in town, and juices and sodas in your refrigerator. Now what hotel would do that for you? None that I've ever seen or been to. And this was my mom's SECOND time in a row staying here. We stayed here at the end of October, I've just been super busy that I forgot to get my review up. Sounds like SOME people has too high of standards. Every single place we ate at here was amazing in Cambria, and every person we ran into was AMAZING. Seriously, this is one of the best hidden gems in California besides Carmel and Solvang. I told David I would be back many times over. He also has a SLEW of DVDs he lets u check out, and watch in your room and every room has its own electric fire place, and VCR/DVD PLAYER. Also, as far as the microwave is concerned, it's a small teeny tiny microwave that's literally big enough for the hotel room, what honestly do you expect? A large stove top microwave? How much food do you expect to heat up while staying here? Good Grief. And by the way, it's pretty darn powerful. I didn't have a single problem with it. Oh!!!! And we met his maid and she was EXTREMELY nice and thorough. She was neither lazy, nor did the minimum. Every room is also decorated differently. And I thought the sheets and beds were EXTREMELY comfortable, updated, and made nicely. EVERYDAY, at that. Not to mention, that David went out of his way to provide us with the most affordable rates even if it meant that he took a pay cut. Thank you David for such an AMAZING experience. We will be back. Guaranteed.

Cambria Shores Inn - A view from the hotel front yard towards the ocean across the street

Both days it was a piece of fruit or two and two slices of warm bread one with banana bread and one was maybe a pumpkin bread. You can also get a warm brownie or a warm cookie at night and the first night they gave us a voucher for two free glasses of wine The rooms are very clean. We had a lovely view in room 15.

Location and views are fabulous. Being able to walk along the shore and watch the sunset,…read moreincluding from the lawn chairs, was wonderful. Really enjoyed the complimentary wine with ocean view and one of my biggest reasons for booking it was due to they accept dogs, which says a lot about an establishment. That being said, there are areas for improvement. When I checked into my room, I noticed that the the dark blinds were stuck so I went to the office to see if they could help. The manager came to my room; tried to lower them and agreed they were stuck. She said she would ask the maintenance person to fix it. A day went by and nobody came by. I was awoken to a bright room early in the morning so my sleep was cut short. I went back the office and the same manager welcomed me with "yeah, what's up"? I highlighted that nobody came by to fix it and she seemed pretty indifferent but said she would request it again. Needless to say, nobody showed up to fix it during my whole stay so I was greeted with shortened sleep thanks to the bright room in the mornings. While I was checking out, I highlighted this to the new manager and she laughed it off, saying that's why she brings blindfolds when she travels. No discount offer or anything. Furthermore, their door key cards are the most sensitive I have ever encountered. I had to have them reprogrammed 3 times during my stay. Also, the owner apparently requested that they close the wine tasting early due to rain so, when I showed up to use my complimentary wine vouchers, I found it closed over an hour earlier than their posted closing time but the server did provide me with the complimentary wine since I was a guest but they were no longer offering food so no marinated olives and nuts to go with it. That being said, the Inn does have a great location; is a value and I love that it is dog-friendly but they do need to work on their customer service. Oh and some more Vegan options and recycling/compost bins would certainly help.

What a neat place to stay in Cambria. My only regret is booking only one night…read more The room had a retro vibe but was very well maintained and clean. Loved the little pour over coffee pods. Never seen anything like this. In the mornings they bring you a picnic basket with a thermos full of coffee, some pastries and a do it yourself mimosa. LOVE the Aesop products in the room!!! a few downside during my stay were: the few times i went to the front desk, the "out of office" sign was up each time. i wanted to rent a bike to bike around the town, no one was around to assist. i waited about 10-15m each time. they have a fire pit that was on the entire time. i heard they provide s'more kits, but we were not provided with any. there isnt really any pet relief area on site. also, all units do not have AC, only fans. i had no service while i was there. i literally was on SOS. i actually loved it. don't worry, there is wifi avail! i would def book white water again!

This property is located on Moonstone Beach, and therefore, has an exceptional location. However,…read morethat is shared with a number of other, similar properties. This property is owned by a company that owns at least four other properties on Moonstone Beach, and shares with them poor customer service. Examples from a recent stay include Wi-Fi that was frequently nonfunctional, and when complaints were made, we were told either that the problem couldn't be fixed, or couldn't be fixed until the next day because no maintenance staff were available. The rooms, lack decor and character, although the bed was very comfortable. When we asked that the waste baskets be emptied at the beginning of the day, we were told that since we did not make that request the night before, it could not be accommodated because of insufficient custodial staff. When I made this request to the manager on duty, she gave me a look as though I had asked her to donate a kidney. We emptied the baskets ourselves. The property has two fire pits, both of which were essentially nonfunctional. Also, the pool was closed. When they ran our credit card on check-in, they actually immediately charged the entire fee for the stay at once. This is an unusual practice, since most similar properties assess the actual charges for the room at checkout. If you were looking for a place to sleep, steps away from the boardwalk on Moonstone Beach, this will fit the bill, but there are a number of better options steps away from this property.

Check In was easy; luckily I booked a room right across from Lounge/Restaurant. Parking easy. I paid for breakfast to be included In our stay and wish I would have not done that. The breakfast was a little disappointing but did the job. The room was very cute, a little stuffy but we didn't stay In the room much. I would recommend new mattresses as the springs would pop when you sat or laid down on the bed. If you do stay here opt for the top floor or maybe you'll get lucky and not have to adjust to the people above you for us they sounded like they were bowling. The lounge does offer the restaurant menu and I recommend that over breakfast. We visited the lounge on a Saturday night and it got a little busy, the one man band was nice. We had their Kale Salad & bruschetta with some margaritas. The margaritas were not balanced well with the mix and tequila. Food/appetizer were good which is why the breakfast buffet was a disappointment.
