I'm giving Stacked 3 stars only because our server, Stella, was freakin awesome and my boyfriend really seemed to enjoy his food. I can't really bring myself to rave about the food though. I had the Scrambler which comes with a side of hash-browns or red potatoes. I chose the red potatoes, they were not red and they were previously frozen and microwaved russet potatoes. The sandwich just wasn't put together well. I also requested Monterrey jack cheese and was given cheddar. The sausage looked microwaved but the eggs were scrambled to perfection. My boyfriend had the country skillet which came with toast or pancakes, he chose the pancakes. For a placed named Stacked, I expected better looking pancakes, although he really seemed to enjoy his breakfast and it did look good. The staff there is awesome which may make me consider going back and trying something else. read more

Delicious food, super friendly staff, and reasonably priced. The only downside of our time at Stacked was the wait- we had to wait around 30-35 minutes for a table. Other than that, my family and I enjoyed our time! read more

Great food, great service. We had to wait a short time for a table. This was my first time eating here and the wait was worth it. The pancakes were fluffy and the menu had all the basic breakfasts. I ordered an Ole Skillet, with "fluffy" scrambled eggs. The eggs were perfect. It had just the right amount of jalapeños, and came with pico de Gallo and sour cream on the side. Not so sure what they hype is about this place. I ordered the Florentine eggs benedict and was not impressed. It wasn't good...my english muffin was BURNED black on one side, and it was covered with the egg to "hide" it. What kind of a place does that? Oh and the menu selection is limited. Stacked, another Greek-owned family restaurant, is a notch above the other Greek-owned breakfast restaurants in the area. And that's about it...a notch. Nothing extraordinary or spectacular here, as they have the typical skillets, omelettes, and even lunchtime fare that other restaurants in its class offer. However, the difference is they use higher quality ingredients and thus offer better tasting food, from the eggs to the pancakes to even the coffee. The eggs are actually tasty, and NOT your typical greasy, flat and tasteless yellow mass that most other breakfast restaurants in the area serve. The scrambled eggs and omelets are fluffy and light and not weighed down with grease. Stacked is also known for its pancakes. Again, NOT your typical flat, overly powdered with sugar, floury-tasting overcooked pancakes. Instead, Stacked's pancakes are spongy, light, tasty, and difficult to cut with a knife...not because they're hard, but because they are more like pull-apart pancakes (think of a spongy cake). Everyone I know who has eaten here or tasted the pancakes (which includes over 75 co-workers, as we have catered breakfast from here) raves about them. In fact, all of their griddle items (pancakes/waffles/french toast/crepes) are very good. I highly recommend the Red Velvet french toast. And here, in fact, is what sets Stacked apart from the other breakfast restaurants in the area -- the variety of griddle items. They may not have a wide variety of omelets (even though they are still good), but they have a variety of pancake and french toast plates that you won't find anywhere nearby. Don't expect a HUGE variety here, though, and don't expect anything out of the ordinary or very interesting. (After all, this is in Oak Lawn; you can find more eclectic, trendy breakfast nooks near the heart of Chicago.) Also, expect a long wait, especially on weekends -- not because it's that awesome, but because of the lack of space. And don't plan on lingering over your breakfast or catching up for hours with an old friend. Stacked is not the place for this. Because of the need to constantly turn tables (there is usually a line out the door every weekend), patrons here may feel rushed by the staff. Overall, I recommend Stacked, but be prepared to wait for your dining experience. Or, save yourself time and order out or come Monday through Thursday. read more

Their hollandaise sauce on their eggs Benedict sucks, and the wait times are insane (literally hours at times on the weekends). There are better options around to get a decent or better breakfast without the wait. I'd skip this one. read more

Stacked is a new breakfast/American Food restaurant in Oak Lawn. We came here on a whim and decided to try it out. Had they not been new, I would probably give them 3 stars. But since they are just starting out I'm going to give them some slack. The good - It is a quaint place that is very inviting and friendly. The owners are very nice and make you feel at home. They are definitely involved - they fill coffee, seat guests, act as the hostess, greet customer, etc. The menu has a nice variety of breakfast foods as well as burgers and salads. The food was pretty great - we both got a skillet. It's good value for your money for sure. We both agreed that it was one of the better breakfast places we had been to food wise. Out waitress was very, very nice. She made sure to check up on us frequently and apologized for the long wait. Needs improvement - Since it is a small place, seating is limited. There also isn't much room to stand/sit when you are waiting for a table. In fact, there weren't any seats at all that I saw. Seating for waiting guests would be nice. We waited a long time to be seated and get our food, so we ended up spending a long time here. Short wait times would be great. They also need a better way to keep track of the wait - they had a scribbled list that they seemed to keep getting mixed up and had to check over and over again to see who was next. It seemed a little unorganized. We also were seated in a corner that was kind of cramped. The didn't give us menus right away, so that wasted some time as well. Overall I would say check them out. I know they are just starting out so I have high hopes for them and hopefully some improvements in the future. They have some great food, so if they just spice up the service I'm sure they will be just fine! We will be going back again for sure! read more

This place was delicious!!!! I ordered the 2 eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a side of pancakes. My fiancé ordered a Denver skillet. Both meals were big portions and were absolutely delicious! The pancakes has a very unique taste that we loved. Even the coffee was super good! I drank it black and it was perfect. There are not a lot of modern breakfast places on the south side of Chicago so I was happy I found this place on Yelp. Breakfast is breakfast to me so it was good here. Everything was fresh. When we arrived, there was a 20 min. wait but we figured it would take that much time to drive to another place and would more than likely have to wait being that it was a Saturday morning. So we waited in the car where we were parked, right out in front. They will come outside and get you which I thought was nice. Our waitress was super nice. Once we sat down, everything was good. It's a smaller restaurant but comfortable. The lady at the register wasn't that friendly but she seemed very busy so maybe she didnt have time to be friendly so I took one star away. I will be back since I love breakfast and mostly everyone is nice here. read more

Finally decided to give this place a try and was amazed at how good the food was. The red velvet pancakes are out of this world. I also had the stacked special which was just down right delicious. Way Overrated! Was looking for a Breakfast place that was closer to my house because I normally go to Egg & I in Tinley Park, so I looked on Google and the Reviews said this place was Great, Everyone appears to Brag about the food and they even have a 4 and half star rating, but after visiting this place that was not the experience I had. Now the food wasn't the worse, but it's farrrr from the accolades they have posted in those reviews. My guess is the people that have made them a 4 1/2 Star Rating truly doesn't know what "Great Breakfast" is or haven't been to a Good Breakfast Restaurant to even know what to compare it to. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. When they came to Oak Lawn, it was a nice change from the same old type of stuff. My favorite to eat is the Ole Skillet, but I try different things every now and then. They have great pancakes too. If you go on a Sunday, go early, because they do get busy and that can make for a wait. But the wait is worth it, in my opinion. read more
