Stacked was packed when we walked in, super bright and loud in a good way. Somehow we got a table right away, which felt like a win already. Staff was really cool, super friendly, just easygoing. I got the two eggs with sausage links and a side of pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up with that rock yellow yolk running everywhere, just the way I like them. The links were also really good, with a nice smoky flavor. But honestly the pancakes were the whole thing for me. Super fluffy, soft all the way through. Golden on the outside, warm inside. Butter just melted right into them and I had to drown them in syrup, there's no other way. Every bite was soft and sweet without being too much. I almost didn't finish them... almost. Great location with an open and bright space. I had the corned beef hash with eggs and hash browns. On this side, I had pancakes with blueberries added. I felt the entire meal was just OK. The corned beef hash was crumbly and though I was told it was made in house, it didn't seem like it. The hash browns and eggs were cooked fine but lacked seasoning. The pancakes were too thick and even though I paid $3.50 more for blueberries, they were hard to find within the actual pancake. The majority of blueberries were placed on top or around the pancakes. My sister's banana foster French toast was the best thing I tasted, so kudos to the cook for that dish. Otherwise, everything else we felt was just average and the prices were above average. My son's strawberry lemonade was $6, and it was fountain lemonade with a strawberry puree syrup added to the glass. Everything added up quickly to $100 for three of us so watch what you order and add on to your meal. I wouldn't return but it was a nice place aesthetically and location-wise. I've been here a few times and I think the food here is exceptionally good. I know that all breakfast places are somewhat "similar," but Stacked seems to always have really fresh food, which is a plus. I've tried quite a few things from here from the pancakes, French toast to the skillets and no complaints on my end. I also love that they have a sourdough bread option, which is the English muffin! I always love when there's sourdough in place of just regular bread. This last time around, I had the country skillet and I LOVE that their skillets automatically come with cheese. Some places, you have to add the cheese for an additional charge. Now, the bread/toast part, you do have to pay $1 additional for, and I don't really love that because most places, it just comes with it so that's a bit odd to me but the cost isn't bad at all and worth it. They also provide you two different flavors of jelly with your toast, which is nice! So you can do one on each side. I also appreciate that the eggs are always done perfectly - never too runny or too hard. For reference, I get mine in the fried version, but medium. The people who work here are also pretty friendly; never had an issue with that. Every server we have had has been pretty nice and they've always gotten our order correct. The only suggestion I have for Stacked, is to add sugar free syrup options for the lattes. Even if it's just a sugar free vanilla, I think that would go along way. Most breakfast restaurants have at least 1 or 2 but Stacked only has the syrups with the sugar so I'd say that's the biggest opportunity here. I'd definitely come here more often if they had that option available. Another note would be to add more milk options! I think both these things would amp up the coffee experience for us coffee lovers. read more

Had a late breakfast and decided on this spot. Great choice. I haven't been here in years. Upon entering a few members of management greeted me and guest. A lady appeared and sat us. A nice lady named Geralyn took our drink order. She was friendly and personable. She took our food order. The music there was on point. Old school r&b. Lived it. Another lady brought us our food which was delish. I ordered the veggie skillet with egg whites, chicken sausage and diced potatoes and a side of pancakes. It was on point. My guest orders the 2 eggs and diced potatoes which he loved. I did ask if they had hazelnut creamer which our server said no, only French Vanilla and regular. Great experience. My first time at this location. Will never go back. We asked for a booth and was told none available. There were two open just needed to be cleaned off. No coffee brought over and no server for about 10-15 minutes. When looking at the menu I was stunned to see an up charge for toast or pancakes. So I order the meat lover omelet . It was horrible, tasted as if it was cooked in a pan or something that had been previously used to make fish . I was impressed with the soup, chicken lemon rice, very good. We are regulars at this restaurant. Usually have good and timely service. Our visit today was just so so. The service was a little slower than normal but they were pretty busy and we weren't really in a rush so we didn't mind. I got the breakfast burrito which was very delicious. Always is. They don't skimp on the chorizo or eggs so it's quite delicious. I asked for some peppers to be added to the burrito and there were not any so I think they forgot. That was a bit disappointing but regardless the burrito was fantastic and will be ordering again. My husband got the corned beef hash and eggs. He immediately noticed it was different from the last couple times he got it. It used to be homemade and he could tell from appearance that it was now the canned hash. He ate some and said "yep, that's canned." So it's very disappointing that they switched from making it fresh to making it with canned. The entry and seating area was clean. Once we were seated we were given waters and menus right away. After ordering, our food was brought out by the time we played about 10 games of tic tac toe. Tried this spot out for breakfast before catching a flight at Midway. I found them to be a little pricey and their 4% surcharge for card payments is ridiculous so make sure to bring cash. Food was ok. Took a while to come out and was delivered separately. Eggs first, pancake later. I got the two eggs plate, no meat, diced potatoes and upgraded to a lemon blueberry pancake. The pancake was great. The potatoes were lukewarm and the eggs were awful (to me) because they taste like some kind of grease. Clearly they use the same griddle/grill for meat and eggs. My mom got eggs, French toast and bacon. She enjoyed her meal. Her food too was lukewarm but she said it was good. The 2 stall bathroom had the heat on hell and a space heater going under the sink. This is still one of my least favorite breakfast places in Oak Lawn. It's not bad it's just nothing special about it and the prices are high. Plus they've added ridiculous surcharges for using credit cards and getting food to go. This seems like a scam and they don't warn you beforehand. No signs posted and the waiter definitely doesn't mention it. I asked the girl at the cash register why there was almost $3 additional added to my bill and all she could say is it's standard for small businesses. I think it's illegal to be forced to pay made up charges without warning or explanation. For that reason alone I will likely not return for a long time just like I did last time. What can I say about good ol' Stacked? It's been a while since I dined in, before my most recent visit. A friend of mine and I were catching up and wanted to find good spots in the Oak Lawn area. Let's start with location. There are two locations but this one is a big closer to home, which I love because I can pop in a bit often. They establishment opened up more space in the dining area which I love because it can get pretty crowded in there. The parking is terrible! I would say get there early but this place is packed open to close. You are not able to make reservations, but the wait time wasn't that bad. Upside to things, they now have a waiting area. So no more waiting outside or in your car. When I arrived at 10am I was quoted 20-25 mins for a table for two and was sat at about 20 min. I noticed that there was a 90 minute table limit, and my friend was running a bit late, so I mentioned this to the host and server. Both were extremely accommodating and told me not to worry and allowed me to sit and wait. Stacked added mimosas, beer, and other cocktails to their menu which was another plus for me. Although I didn't order a drink, it was nice to know that I now have this option. The server was more than attentive. She was funny, fast, and busy with other tables, yet this didn't stop her from coming to our table to check on things. I ordered a veggie omelet with avocado, wheat toast, and fresh pressed orange juice. All of it was amazing, o almost forgot how great the food is.
