My husband and I tried this place today and it was excellent. I was skeptical going in. I grew up in Chicago and have had the best corned beef sandwiches in Chicago and NYC. This place is equal to and they put their own twist on it too! Their food stands up to the best. I had the corned beef and my husband had the classic reuben. The sandwiches were large. We only were able to eat half. We also ordered the latkes and lox to take home with us. Both were amazing! The staff is awesome! From the minute we walked in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. You can tell they love where they work. The owner stopped and talked with us. I watched him stop at every table. He brought us to go boxes and I watched him pitching by bringing food out and whatever needed to be done. Anyone that complains about the food, price or the bread, they don't know what their food is about and do not value the hard work and dedication that goes in to the food they create. The worst Reuben ever ! Adequate meat tho lacked flavor and someone had their seatbelt too tight when they chose the bread, (not sure if it was a cross between rye or wheat ), but just broke apart. First of all, you have to order, and tip for high priced food before you receive it. They bring you the food, and you have to get up to get your own silverware. You order a lox bagel and it's a mini-bagel (joke.... we laughed) and it costs $16 plus a tip on top. If you order a dinner meal, there are NO sides, not even a few lettuce leaves... The ONLY good thing about this place is the bar man. He is a good human, cares about customers and comes across genuine to me. I would go back for the cocktails. But for $100 plus.... for few meals and two drinks is really bad. One was only an appetizer meal not a real meal. They need umbrellas (you will bake in the heat), they need sit down service and more food (sides) on the plates for the prices. She takes the bottle and another worker tells her that they marry the bottles and it's just an older bottle, but new mustard. She places the expired bottle back on the shelf for customers to grab. I was motivated to write this review because of how friendly and accommodating the staff was when we arrived for dinner today and found out that they were scheduled to close early today for the USA World Cup match. We got there with some friends from out of town 15min before they were set to close. They assured us it was no problem and even insisted we ordered food to stay instead of to-go. The food is great (the Rachel is delicious) and the patio is my one of my favorite outdoor seating areas in Bend. You get the river view, people watching and plenty of shade to dine under. Went back today to try the Pastrami Reuben and the Rachel. Both were huge and messy to eat but delicious. Contrary to my expectations, I think I prefer the Corned Beef Reuben to the Pastrami version. I also spoke to the owner and got the story on the pickle. Each sandwich is supposed to be served with a half-sour and a full-sour spear. They ran out of the full-sour when were there and pivoted to serving the pickled pepper in lieu of the full sour. We went here on a Tuesday night and it was quick and delicious. I had some Pinot Gris and the chicken pot pie. I loved the dill and the flaky crust. The chicken was tender and juicy. The service is very good and the GM is great to talk with. Really disappointed with Stacks Deli. It feels like they're trying way too hard to be a "cool" deli but completely miss the mark. They load on a ridiculous amount of meat to make up for the fact that the flavors just aren't good -- more isn't better when it tastes bad. Do NOT get the smoked turkey, it's genuinely gross. The pickle on the side was basically a soggy cucumber. The whole ordering and seating system makes zero sense (you order at the counter but can't sit until you get a number, yet someone still seats you?), and the manager doing the seating was straight-up rude. On top of all that, it's wildly overpriced for what you get. Bend has way better options -- would not go back. read more

I was honestly shocked that the owners of such a well done restaurant like Zydeco could have possibly put this place together! From the outdoor line and crowded entry where people are trying to Leave but it's bottlenecked at the entry so it's hard to get out, to the inefficient ordering process, to the prices, to the food! 22 bucks for a corned beef on rye, rye with no seeds, bread was very small, lots of meat but it was very out of balance, to the tiny spears of dill pickles that didn't even taste of dill!! It really was one of the worst dining experiences I've had! I've never done a review on Yelp but I honestly had to say something I used to work in a " real" deli and this had no resemblance to that.
