Strike three; Not more than a minute after "last call" they turned on the vacuums. The atmosphere was clean and perhaps for an earlier drink it would have been ok to sit and talk. "bar snacks" are chips still in a bag(no sharing) and after the staff was slow in taking our order, and later rudely pushing us out the door they forgot to return our credit cards so we couldn't leave. You can do much better, trust me. Came here on a slow Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend. It was a nice day so we decided to sit outside on the patio. We saw no waitress or waiter in sight with a few customers outside so we went in and requested a server to come out and take our order. The waitress came out and took our drink order which was a Corona beer and a Blue moon/Guinness hybrid beer. She got my drink wrong and gave me a Guinness and something else that was not a wheat beer. I think it might have been a Bass with Guinness. We ordered a Philly cheese steak and a grilled cheese. It was mediocre at best, nothing flashy, and I have eaten far better from cheaper places. We also found out before ordering that you do not get fries with your meals which makes their prices seem even higher. Major minus Stadium Pub. Also, we had to dig through the large fry basket to find good fries from the burnt fries. Finally we waited for a long time to get the bill like we waited to get service. I work down the road so decided to walk to stadium pub for lunch Got there and the place was empty so placed my order and the gals assured I could sit anywhere so I walked outside and found a seat. Waited 20 min no food, waited 35 min no food finally. I got up and walked in the lady's said oh it's coming I said no it's too long please package food to go after I said that I got straight attitude and they just ignored me and didn't care that I had to wait so long and started helping other people coming. Stadium is my go to sports bar in walnut creek! There are tons of TV's and a good amount of seating. They have a lot of beer on tap at decent price. Food is mediocre, but it's bar food. Wish their burgers would come with fries, what kind of bar sells a burger that doesn't come with fries?? Also wish they had regular happy hour specials. They have taco Tuesday but that's only one day out of the week. Bottom line, great place to watch the game and great place to go out at night and share a couple of pitchers with some friends. read more

One of the best spots in Walnut Creek to get bar food, beer, and any sports games. Great location to watch Sunday football and best to get there early for the morning games since around noon can be hard to get a seat. You can tell they must be doing something right since they have been able to avoid the coming and going of many other bars in the area over the years. The food menu has a great selection with all your typical bar food along with others. Only thing bad about this place is parking but that's the same problem for most places in the area. The hot dogs here are so good! I ordered to go, just a regular foot long dog with sauerkraut and mustard. They piled on the sauerkraut, which some people might not like, but I on the other hand am so glad they did! You have to try them. When we heard that this place has $2 Tuesdays, we were immediately excited and decided to come and watch some of the All Stars game. Man, what a let down! My friend and I ordered shrimp and fish tacos which consisted of a stale, cold tortilla (which I couldn't even bring myself to try to eat) with 2 little pieces of lukewarm fried shrimp or fish thrown on it. No sauce, onions, tomatoes, nothing. Not even a little shredded lettuce. I wasn't expecting a gourmet taco, but come on! Since we were still starving after our "tacos", we decided to order some of their famous garlic fries. This consisted of a pile of semi-warm styrafoam-textured fries with a tablespoon of garlic thrown on top. At this point, we completely gave up on trying to eat and instead focused on just drinking. Two stars for the deceptively strong margarita which got me really drunk before I'd even finished half of it. Then again, that might have been due to the fact that I didn't consume much food. I don't often eat corn dogs... But when I do, I deep throat them here. My old reliable in the WC. Pretty centrally located, so its a good spot to either start or end your night out, depending on what you're in to. Small patio outside is great when the weather is nice, too. Plenty of TV's for games and they show the UFC fights which is a big plus for me. When I don't want to fork the cash over to Direct TV I swing by here. Word of advice for fight nights though: GET THERE EARLY. It pays to beat the rush... You'll get a seat and likely even miss the cover charge. Great selection of tap beers and good food (for a pub.) I think both are priced reasonably. I'd suggest the Philly Chicken Cheese or any of the hot dogs. Yeah... Take that hot dog. Service is great, too... I've never had any problems here and I have been going a while. On nights when it is busy you may wait a bit longer, but that is logical, right? That will likely be the case anywhere you go. I was looking forward to coming to this place, but can never find an occasion to try it out. I was in neighborhood, and wanted to watch the NFL draft. I was able to grab a table because the place was packed. They were hosting a Draft party and they had Free Appetizers with a 2 drink minimum. The radio station 107.7 Bone was giving away a Swag bags courtesy of NFL direct Tv. I did not win a bag but I scored plates of Nachos, Meatball Sliders, and Mini Corndogs. It went nicely with a Wheat beer. Server was nice and the place was hopping. $2.00 specialty pints and discount Appetizers make this a great place to grab a drink on the patio and mingle. Lots of TVs and great atmosphere make it a great place to watch your favorite games. In case you were wondering, we did park at the local Library for only $.75 since meter stopped at 6:00. read more

Great sports bar with good pub grub. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the place and the cheap prices for the middle of Walnut Creek. There were plenty of tables free when we went in on a Friday night. We plopped down at a table looking out onto Main and were quickly served. They have a great selection of draft beers--4 IPAs on draft--for under $5 each. They also have Angry Orchard cider on draft, which means my wife can drink for about half the price of normal (she hates beer and normally drinks wine). Food was classic pub grub, well done at good prices. I had fish n chips and the missus had a pastrami Reuben. Since I'm English and she's from New York we are quite demanding about our home town foods. Both were good, fresh and flavorful. The prices were reasonable--which for Walnut Creek means they're unusually cheap. They have hotdogs for $3. The Reuben was about $10 and the fish about $12. Food and drink came to $33 plus tip. While I probably wouldn't make the Stadium the centerpiece of a night out, I'm sure we will back. read more

I usually do Corona and tacos, but this happened to be a night out with my gf and we'd already eaten, and wanted to finish off the evening with some wine together. The place was packed inside (surprising for a Tuesday night - maybe a game was on?) so we felt fortunate to sit at all, but the table was pretty cramped. Guess it would've been okay with only wine glasses. Our server took her time coming over to greet us. Then after we'd ordered wine, she took her time returning to tell us they were out of what we'd ordered. She did pleasantly offer similar selections and we ended up with something we both enjoyed. It didn't take long for my curiousity to take over and when our waitress returned I ordered the fish tacos. Inside there was a taco station! it had cheese, salsas, sour cream, hot sauce. We went to Pyramid Alehouse first but it was empty and service was surprisingly slow on an empty day so we walked over a couple more blocks here. & Yay! Place was already packed 4 hours before the super bowl, everybody had their gear on... it was really encouraging. The Fish Tacos had a crunch as I bit into it, in addition to the cheese & tomato topping as well as the ranch dip..this was my favorite of the night. Seems like a generic sports bar to me. I was killing time while my car was getting worked on and stopped in for a beer and an app. They have your typical sports bar selection of burgers, wings, hot dogs, etc. The beer-on-tap selection was disappointing, especially for the Bay Area. Prices were average. The food I saw getting delivered to tables didn't look appetizing. The girl behind the bar gave me good service, but the other waitresses seemed genuinely disinterested. Three of the girls stood huddled around a game of hangman on a pad of paper...much to the dismay of my bartender, who clearly could have used their help doing prep and clean-up between the lunch and dinner crowds. I found it somewhat amusing in this day of smartphone games that they'd be kicking it old school like this. I'm just glad they weren't serving me. My guess is that this place has a much different feel when some real sports are being played. At this point on a Saturday, the action was pretty limited with a few random college basketball games, some Winter Olympics, and some indoor long distance running. If I was in downtown WC dying to see a game, I'd probably stop back in, but otherwise I'll pass. read more

I like the Hot Dogs, Fries, and Henry Weinhard's Root Beer in a bottle. Good quick lunch, alone, and when you need a quiet hole in the wall on a week day. Looks like a good bar when there's a crowd. Made a "once-monthly" trip in this last week, and my hot dog was barely warm. Not hard to get this one right, and I am not one to complain ... especially someplace I frequent. Have you ever been asked To provide a credit/debit card before ordering-policy/ ?! Don't do it! Don't give them your card if you're paying cash! You better just have cash when going there so you don't get screwed. We paid cash $50 and they charged our card too!!! We tried to speak with the manager... We met her once and she said she will investigate how this happened... Never called us! Never showed her face after that... We went there and tried to be nice... Believing it was a mistake (this could happen) but they kept saying she was sick, or just not there atm... Lies! And they all knew what was going on...So my husband had to call the bank and they changed his card... I know we're not the only case because this had happened to my husband's friend too... We're participants in life, not spectators, so we care less about boring spectator sports, raucous sports bars and have absolutely no use whatever for all those rackety sports TV screens, or the noisy patrons pretending to watch them as they yell and shout to hear themselves talk! Nope, we habitually go for the scrumptious Friday fish & chips, though there's way more batter than fish, and it's a toss-up about whether the French fries taste better than the skimpy fish portions. They make a delicious chili dog, too; and for whatever reason, their tap Coke is somehow seriously syrupy and savory. We especially enjoy sitting out on their open-air front patio, preferably when it's quiet, in preference to their stuffy, crowded and noisy indoor room. Their pretty table-servers have most consistently proved to be attentive, gracious, and pleasant, so no complaints there. So, all in all, it's an enjoyable if only occasional pit-stop. When it comes to fish & chips, though, Stadium Pub's one of the precious few games in town. We just wish they'd step up their game in the kitchen and put out some real fish(as in thick cod or halibut)filets with their chips! After a great meal at Sunol Creek here in downtown WC, I headed to Stadium Pub to meet up with some local coworkers of mine. My friend said, "Stadium Pub works because they don't charge a cover!" We get there...$5 cover because of the UFC fight. Ugghhh...I'm not a fan of the UFC but I did end up watching it that night but hey, $5 was worth it. Stadium Pub is indeed a sports bar to the extreme sense. No drink menus and I know that they did have food but not a single menu in sight. They had the beer listed on the napkin dispensers in there and after we had one in front of us, it was snatched away to be given to someone else to look at. They weren't too many great beers to choose from and honestly, when coming from a gastropub to here, it really isn't a fair comparison. The best way that I can describe The Stadium Pub is that it's very local and has a comfortable vibe without a lot of pretentiousness. They have their local regular customers and their favorite bartender/wait staff. In that respect, I give them their props for filling the role of the "local pub" but that night, I certainly didn't feel as accepted or comfortable as the other locals around me. A solid sports bar. This is where I go to watch the World Series or the World Cup. It's walking distance from where I live, so I don't have to worry about parking. Non-native Walnut Creekians don't seem to believe me that this place gets PACKED during finals games. Like a can of sardines. Get here at least two hours before game time if you want to sit at a table. Otherwise, it's standing room only. Though not to worry. TVs are plastered all over this medium-size bar, and the really nice waitresses will keep on top of your order whether you're sitting or standing. The main room has a lot of low tables and bar tables, and the bar on the left has plenty of seating. I've never managed to snag a place on the enclosed patio out front. The cool thing about it is that the TVs face outside, so the overflow can still watch the game. The back room has a pool table and a few tables as well. I'd recommend a pitcher of Blue Moon and an order of Garlic Fries. You feel like you're almost at AT&T Park watching the game. Not recommended is the Pastrami Sandwich. Save your money and get the $3 hot dog instead. *Tip: They have extra chairs stored on the left just inside the main room. Just be sure not to place the chair in the aisle, or you'll get in the way of the hard working waitresses. read more

Stadium is Walnut Creek's "divey" sports bar. It's not like McCovey's (with it's chain restaurant feel), and definitely steps up to the plate (no sports pun intended). The walls are lined with TV's all showing various games or shows. There is a nice patio for when the weather is nice, and it's pretty spacious inside with a mix of high and low tables. On a weekend night this place is usually busy, regardless of sporting events or season. The service is always friendly and quick, and they have a solid selection of beers on tap. The food is pretty much your average pub food, but hits the spot if that's what you're looking for. The steak sandwich I had last night was just what I wanted, and the people I was with also liked their choice (hot dog and fish & chips). Not impressed. Cool sports bar atmosphere with a lot of stuff on the walls and a metric crap ton of TVs, but it sort of stops there. Took us about a decade to get served and we were served nearly one drink at a time. As in, for 5 people, we had to flag the bartenders down 3 separate times even though we were all standing right there together for a month or two. Regulars or friends of the bartenders would just saunter up to the bar and be attended to before people obviously standing around the bar waiting for a while. We waited so long we were probably three minutes from leaving; that's how I know it was an unacceptable wait time. We waited so long the person who went to hold a table came back to the bar because she was embarrassed sitting there alone for so long. Yeah, the bar was busy, and yeah, being a bartender at a busy bar is a tough gig, but I've been to bars (Stock & Trade in SF comes to mind) where 2 or 3 bartenders were attending to twice as many people and no one person would have to wait more than two or three minutes because the bartenders would sequentially serve people based on when they arrived at the bar without a drink in hand. So yeah, maybe a great experience if you went to high school with the bartenders or something. That way you can just leap frog everyone standing around at the bar like an idiot. I would only come back if I were with friends who had to go to a sports bar to watch a UFC event, and even then I would order absolutely nothing unless the bar were nearly empty. read more

This place is a typical hang out place in the good ol Dub C for those that JUST turned 21. Seems like a bunch of young ones and THE hang out for Las Lomas alumnis lol It's pretty loud like any other pub and gets pretty crowded but dug the atmosphere and I was there with good people.
