Wow, this place is amazing! First time here and boy were we pleasantly impressed with everything from the moment we walked, the dining room is gorgeous & the food was so delicious I wish we would have walked upstairs, the spiral staircase was beautiful. I ordered the fish & chips with fries & coleslaw & my husband ordered salmon salad which he enjoyed, my son ordered the turkey club & sweet potato fries, my sister in law ordered the chicken sandwich & my brother ordered grilled chicken salad. We kinda shared because it all looked so good. The portions were nice size & the service was excellent! They are opened for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Everything was great; food, service, ambiance, you name it Jack's does it well. Awesome place to watch sports, plenty of space to stretch out. Menu is large so you'll have no trouble finding something delicious to eat; I recommend the spaghetti and clams in white sauce. This was more like a 4.4 experience, but unfortunately no half stars allowed still. I'll be back for sure, no question. read more

Went to Jacks after shopping, it's a very nice place, very clean, the hostess from the servers are very nic. The service was really good and the our food came out fast They have breakfast and a lunch menu. When I went they had a live broadcast out in the patio with 95.7 the game, The Willard and Dibbs Show. I got the Mama Elini's meatloaf and my gf got the French dip. Both those dishes were amazing. Their Arnold Palmers were very good too. My first time at Jacks, great food and great time. My weekday lunch at Jack's proved delightful. My corn chowder soup tasted just right - not too salty and not heavy. Plus, the soup had some 'bite' which gave it a satisfying texture. My cappuccino however, was far too frothy. My buffalo chicken wrap truly hit the spot with its crispy chicken and non-overly flavorful buffalo sauce. Because the avocado was not smashed to give it that 'guacamole in a burrito texture,' the chipotle mayo spread therefore substituted perfectly as a pairing with the buffalo marinade. The waiter also honored my request for providing bread as a side for the soup and Ranch dressing along with my onion rings. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday afternoon but the ambiance was not overbearing. My last positive feedback concerns Jack's reasonable menu pricing. Jack's menu prices appear above par with its American cuisine competitors including Denny's and the Cheesecake Factory in respect of its food quality. read more

Stopped by for lunch. First time eating here. We came in thru the back, there's a little bar area (tap room) away from the main dining area. There's tables, so you can order food. We walked into the main area towards the entrance. We were seated promptly and waters were brought out. The menu has a nice variety of foods. I went with a turkey sandwich with a salad. Bf had a mushroom burger & fries. The burgers here are huge and looked hand-pressed (since it was falling apart as being eaten). The turkey was piled on high and tasted very good. I got the cranberry sauce on the side. But it goes well with the sandwich. Our waitress, Vanessa was very attentive and very friendly. Our waters were filled as needed and a manager came by to ask how things were. I'll definitely be back. I want to try out their breakfast menu. There's a lot of parking in the area. The restaurant is popular and doesn't get busy. But if your get a high top table, you can just walk up to it without waiting to be seated (open seating) AC was blasting, so it felt great on a hot day. read more

My family and I were enjoying our meal when we witnessed a manager confronting a customer about how she was feeding her dog. The manager's tone was abrupt, loud, and disrespectful. My husband and I were shocked to witness this kind of behavior toward a paying customer. What had been an enjoyable dining experience quickly became uncomfortable and upsetting. The couple appeared visibly mortified and embarrassed by the interaction. In a time when businesses rely so heavily on their customers and their experiences, I'm disappointed that this was handled the way it was. There are certainly ways to address concerns with customers that are respectful, professional, and discreet. I hope the management at Jack's takes this feedback seriously and does better moving forward. This is not the way customers should be treated. read more

Came here for dinner to celebrate a birthday and my wife and I shared a Double Smash burger with fries and a Caesar salad. Everything was tasty and fresh and it hot. Oh my! Does this restaurant get busy on a Saturday night! I've been here for lunch but never during dinner. The wait was about 30 minutes but we only waited for 10 minutes for a party of 3. Not bad! I always thought this restaurant looked pretty inside, especially the staircase in the main dining room. They sat us outside in a heated patio area; but I prefer sitting indoors instead. The dinner menu was more than I expected. So many options and I was so happy to see my favorite soup on the menu, Avgolemono -- Greek soup. Our waitress was very attentive and always checking on us. During this visit, we ordered the lamb meatballs, Asian chicken salad, chili mac n cheese, and shrimp louie salad. Of course I ordered my cup of favorite soup! My Asian chicken salad was ok. There wasn't that much chicken in my salad, it was mostly lettuce and fried won tons. Loved my soup as always, but in all honesty, I wasn't fond of the meatballs. It had a spicy kick to it and it just had an overwhelming taste of cinnamon. It just wasn't for me. Overall dining experience was top tier but the food was ok. The bread was a bit hard and definitely not ordering the meatballs again. The portions were perfect and the service was great. Great all around! Stopped in for a weekday lunch after not being here for 10+ plus. This place is really good. Classic comfort dishes done very well! I wish I got a picture of my food but I was so hungry I dove right in to my French dip. The sandwich was stacked high with tender meat on one nice soft roll. The fries on the side were cooked especially well as they were exactly to my liking of being a little extra fried and crispy! I've been a fan for about 10 years and absolutely love their French dip sandwich. Salads, mains and breakfast are all great too. Their empire also includes an attached Taproom and a nearby Mexican spot. They seem to be doing something right. Service is always friendly and efficient. Parking is a little tight at peak meal times but a short walk easily solves that issue. Very conveniently located if you're seeing a film at the nearby movie theater. read more

Visited on a Saturday around 11:45 and the place was packed which was a good sign. The restaurant is spacious and there was plenty of room to walk between tables. My sister and I were able to snag two seats at the bar right away but there was a wait for tables. The bartender was friendly and attentive so our beverages stayed full and our order was placed very quickly. The Ruben was very good, I order them a lot from various places and was impressed with the quality. We ordered it with a side of onion rings and they were great too. The chicken sandwich was a bit overdone and not quite what we were hoping for because it was so tough to chew but the sweet potato fries were great. My husband and I enjoy dining at Jack's. It's truly a gem in Pleasant Hill. The atmosphere is always upbeat and offer great service. We dined in the bar area which has half-done bench seats. It was very comfortable. Our server/bartender name was Jack. He was very nice and friendly. My husband ordered their smashed burger with fries. It was good, but had soggy buns. LOL. I had their Tutto Mare, which is my favorite seafood pasta. The serving is BIG and I always take some home. Jack, our server, asked if I wanted him to pour the leftovers in the box. My mom, sister, and I went for a lunch and immediately when I arrived, the staff was so great. Marlene and Someone else were at the front and both were very friendly. And then there was another person who sat us and he was very nice also. We enjoyed our food, a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries was my dish and that was delicious and my sister enjoyed her barbecue chicken salad. And my mom had the burger. Everyone was pleased. Jack's is such a great spot for a comforting breakfast! The blueberry pancakes were absolutely delicious--fluffy, flavorful, and a must-try. We also ordered the standard breakfast, which comes with eggs any style, crispy hash browns, toast, and your choice of meat. The chicken apple sausages were a standout: thick, delicious, and you get three of them--a really generous portion of protein with the eggs. The corned beef hash was also tasty and well-seasoned. I tried the hot chocolate too; it was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but still a nice treat on a chilly day. We also had a kid in our group with gluten and dairy allergies, and the staff offered options and were very accommodating, which was great to see. Service overall was friendly and attentive. Another big plus: lots of seating. Even at 12 PM on a Sunday, we didn't have to wait for a table. It's a large, busy place, but it runs smoothly. I drove out to the East Bay to meet up with family for dinner in Pleasant Hill at this wonderful restaurant named Jack's restaurant & Bar. My sister and uncle arrived before me so they ordered appetizers of chicken wings both buffalo and Korean wings as well a the Mediterranean platter not pictured since we tore it up expeditiously. My sister got full on the appetizers lol. My mom ordered the chicken Alfredo... my youngest nephew the chile nachos, my eldest nephew the spaghetti and meatballs, my uncle the Shrimp Louie salad and I ordered the Bay shrimp said with a glass of Pinot Noir. We all sampled each other's dishes and let me tell you the chefs did not disappoint. I loved my bay salad it was so refreshing and I love the amount to shrimp to heart of palm ratio. The chicken Alfredo had the perfect amount of sauce and broccoli and chicken and the pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente. My nephew's nachos looked good but he ate them up so fast I didn't get to try them, but the presentation was nice. My other nephew's spaghetti and meatball were superb and delicious you can tell they make their own marinara and my uncle's shrimp Louie was huge and delicious the amount of shrimp was crazy and well worth it. Our waitress Janell was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. She even made sure my little Maverick had water. By the way the patio is dog friendly! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend Jack's restaurant if you have or haven't checked them out. They do not disappoint. read more

Great spot in downtown pleasant hill. My grandma loves the French dip and they have a good selection of entrees and appetizers. I usually get one of their burgers or their Mac and cheese. I spoke to Matt the manager and have not heard back at all they don't care the risk they put their customers under, We spoke on Saturday at around 2:00 p.m. after I called regarding an issue with my meal from the previous evening, Friday at approximately 5:00 p.m. My husband and I visited the restaurant to enjoy dinner and a few drinks. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and our entrées. When our food was brought to the table, the server was carrying both of our plates. She served my husband's meal but then took my plate back without any explanation. When she returned with my meal, I asked why she had taken my plate back. She told me she noticed the plate was cracked and had taken it back to have a new meal prepared. I was very impressed with her decision and appreciated what I believed was her attention to customer safety. I did not finish my meal at the restaurant because we had already eaten appetizers and had drinks, so I took most of my meatloaf and mashed potatoes home. The following day, while eating the leftovers, I suddenly felt a hard crunch. At first, I thought I had broken a tooth. Because I was eating mashed potatoes, I had already swallowed most of the bite, but I still felt something hard in my mouth. I removed a piece of white porcelain from my mouth. It was extremely alarming. I called the restaurant within an hour of the incident to report what had happened. It was very disappointing to discover that my meal had apparently not been remade as I was told. Instead, it appears the food from the broken plate was simply transferred onto another plate. This exposed me to a serious safety risk. I swallowed an unknown amount of broken porcelain, and there is no way of knowing how much may have been ingested. While I cannot determine exactly how much porcelain I swallowed, I know that I did ingest some of it. The fact is that someone at the restaurant failed to follow proper food safety procedures. This incident could have resulted in a much more serious injury or even a life-threatening situation. Had the proper precautions been taken after the plate was found to be broken, this could have been completely avoided. I have attached pictures of the glass piece i managed to remove from my mouth. It has now been 3 days since i spoke to the manager and they have not even tried calling me to check my status or to at least refund me what i paid after this traumatic experience. read more
