Adj: Pretty Predictable HIE…read more This Holiday Inn Express was clean, spacious, the staff member who checked us in was warm and welcoming. She said she specifically put us in a room with a nicer view b/c we're platinum elite members, and up on the top floor so that we wouldn't have noise coming from above. So I'm not sure staff would do so if a customer wasn't an IHG member, but she was also helpful in explaining different facilities/services available. The room was spacious and mostly clean, bright, and comfortable. The carpet could use some steam cleaning and we didn't feel the carpet was clean, so we made sure to keep our flip flops on, but other than that everything else about the room was good. The pool was nice but cold, and we expected a spa which would've been nice, but our kids enjoyed swimming in the indoors pool. Although we didn't use the exercise room/small gym, it looked sufficient for a hotel stay workout. The breakfast service was plentiful although there was only 1 choice of yogurt and it had genetically modified ingredients so we couldn't feed that to our kids. There was enough of other items so that was nice, to include proteins. Overall, this was one of the nicer HIEs we've stayed at. Hopefully, it'll only get better and not worse. I just read some of the concerning reviews, and the reviews seem to either be glowing or alarming, so I hope the hotel has been taking steps to improve.

Well I really rarely write reviews but do on occasion when their been wonderful or horrible…read moreservice. Unfortunately this is the later. Let me start of by say the people some of who I have talked to are nice but not all. It start off on check in they don't take cash I don't understood that what so ever. On top of that their ac don't work I mean I called maintenance twice he was short with me while on phone with someone Elsa about something completely unreadable and didn't do anything just say that's how it is deal with it I even ask just for fan nothing front desk is no help the whole stay it was hot in the room The only and I mean this the only nice part was the breakfast they had a decent breakfast I'm not say 5-stars but it was nice This is not what I like to do but if a place is this bad and rude I believe it should be said so other have a chance to be aware My dogs were travel with me this time and the amount of attitude I got from that alone was disturbing

Our family went on another trip and decided to stay in Watsonville California as it is close…read moreproximity to Gilroy Gardens . We have three small children. Our oldest is Five. Our middle child is almost 2 and our youngest is four months old. Gilroy Gardens is located less than 30 minutes from Watsonville California. However, you have to travel through a curvy road in order to get there. It wasn't too bad of a drive and it drops you off right by the entrance of Gilroy gardens Some pros about this hotel- Clean- room was clean & staff was really prompt about tidying up our rooms in the morning and we didn't even have to ask. When we came back to our hotel room, our beds were made in our garbage was taken out and we had fresh towels. Private patio - we stayed in room 101 which was the family suite with a private patio. It had its own gated area and you could eat at the table outside if you wanted to. Pool- we did not swim, but there was an outdoor pool. As a family, it was a big bonus to find a place that had a kitchenette in it and allowed us to have meals in the room. In fact, there's a restaurant directly across the street that while we didn't eat there .. it smelled absolutely delicious. Just ok.. Our kitchen .. had no knives. We could not cut a watermelon. All the tableware was plastic and paper plates. We have stayed at other hotels with kitchens & were supplied with real silverware and plates. My husband was trying to stir our food with a plastic spoon and it melted . All the glassware was plastic too. We also were not supplied with any dishwasher soap . Breakfast- the lady that works there was helpful and nice. However, no waffles which was a bummer. A lot of the hot food didn't really taste great.. there was biscuits and gravy, round eggs and sausage. There was also lots of muffins, bagels and English muffins. There was also fresh yogurt with toppings fresh cut strawberries in the refrigerator. There was chocolate milk , white milk and juice. Plus a neat coffee maker that would make customized coffee orders for you. My actual favorite thing to have there was the fresh yogurt with the toppings. Usually I'm a hot food breakfast person but to be honest it wasn't very good. Our kids aren't picky and they really wouldn't eat it either including the French toast sticks. Our kids basically stuck to chocolate milk , strawberries and the premade muffin because the hot food was just not very edible. The machine that customizes your coffee is also located in the entryway of the lobby so if you want customize coffee other times the day they have it there too The not so great.. There was no trolley to bring your bags to and from the car. We did not know until we arrived and got our room that our room was located on the other side of the hotel. You had to walk down the sidewalk and up through the wooden gate to your private patio. While that is awesome and very private... We also have three small children and getting all of our things and three small children from across the parking lot onto a sidewalk and into our room was kind of a challenge. If our kids were older probably would not be a big deal as they could carry their own bags. We realized later that you can actually pull up your vehicle and parallel park on the street and it's a little bit closer so you can load up your vehicle before you leave. Along with no trolleys, there's also no elevators so if you have to be on the second floor, you're gonna have to bring all your baggage upstairs yourself without the help of an elevator. It was not the hotels fault.. but getting woke up before 8am the first morning wasn't so fun to jackhammer's hammering right outside the window. For the inconvenience, the hotel did add some points to our Best Western account though. The other thing I noticed was our room advertise for up to six people, however with two queen beds and a twin pullout .. it really only sleeps five. It worked out for us because we are a family of 5 and we had a crib, but if you're really counting on it to six people you might wanna consider it. So would we stay again... Maybe but with children that are our kids ages maybe not.

You know, somewhat modern furniture. The obligatory one wall that's painted a different color. A small desk, fridge, tiny microwave, etc. I was treated to a full bathtub with shower curtain. The standard complementary soaps and hair care products with a dash of towels that felt like sandpaper. Okay so for the good: The room was clean, i didn't really go looking but visually there wasn't a reason to. Just about every light fixture has an outlet to plug in something. There is a small reading light by the bed which is a nice touch. The internet was password protected. It's just a minutes drive from a few food spots and other amenities. The bad: When taking a shower i couldn't get the water past warm and it struggled to maintain a constant temperature. The walls are PAPER thin, i was able to hear phone calls that were in the adjacent rooms like the people were sitting next to me. The road is incredibly busy durring the morning commute. So either wait an eternity for an opening or take the scenic route. In conclusion: is the hotel a destination spot or even a place to get away for a night, imo well no. But they do offer a warm bed in a clean room. So if your in watsonville is definently one of your choices. Giving it 3 * because it was neither great nor bad just rather meh.

In my opinion, there is something happening for them to act this way that they're not sharing. The whole time I was here (3 days and 2 nights) the machine didn't work. The few nice things was the service of staff, they were friendly and the mini fridge and microwave. Not enough for me to return.

After contacting 3rd party and explaining the situation, we right away felt the difference in professionalism communication and compassion. The 3rd party Rep. put us on hold a few times while they communicated with Robert, which we didn't mind at all. Once coming to a resolution, we were advised to check in with Robert...he proceeded to state we were being charged for 6 rooms by the 3rd party (which was a complete lie) but he was going to contact the 3rd party to "fix" the problem. Nice try Robert to claim yourself as the "hero". Never staying there again.

Review of shorebird 55 (Let me begin by saying that this review was submitted to At the Dunes…read morerental agency but never posted on their site.) Pros: *excellent beach access * lovely ocean view Cons: *furniture, towels, sheets in generally rundown condition *master bedroom has 1 bedside table and 1 lamp. I ended bringing in a small corroded outdoor iron table and moving a lamp from the second bedroom. * one floor lamp in the entire living room. Generally poor lighting. *Peeling paint in bathroom *mold in bathroom corners *uncomfortable living room furniture-outdoor wicker, way past it's comfort usage. No support. *unwashed sheets in second bedroom, unwashed towel in master bath. ( the rental agency was very responsive about this) In this time of Covid, these discoveries made our stay uncomfortable. Was this place really sanitized before our arrival? My point here is that a rental at the beach, for $400+/ night, should be comfortable in all aspects. This was not. For a total of $1800 for four nights, I would have expected much more.

Is this someone's negected bequest? Pajaro Dunes Shorebirds #115 review (through VRBO)…read more We love Pajaro Dunes and have fond memories of our friends' lovely condo. This one in comparison--meh! Would definitely not stay there again. The property was clean enough but not stocked with minimal kitchen staples (like flour, cooking oil, aluminum foil). With VRBO you expect better. The patio furniture was so torn, cracked and ripped, our adult daughter had a huge blood blister after sitting on a green plastic chair. (See photos) This is not acceptable. Nor is the master bathroom door where you had to close the door completely in order to use the toilet. It was so cramped--and I'm only 5'1. Do not stay here if you are used to comfort, cooking, or a patio where you can sit out and see the sky. For $2000 for three nights, we expected a lot more than Shorebird #115.
