I've had more than one unpleasant experience with a bartender there (a bald guy). He has an issue with people asking for ice water and refuses to accommodate. He also made some rude, passive aggressive comments about some of the customers, loud enough for them to hear. This guy has some problems and takes it out on the clientele. I've been told that numerous customers have complained about him, so it's too bad Whole Foods/Stage 71 hasn't addressed this ongoing problem. Stopped by shop here often at Whole Foods gave it try inside while foods is Stage 71. Full bar and food. You also can buy from the Whole Foods, food section and eat at Stage 71. Service is good you order at the register and they bring your food to you. They got happy hour daily and couple TVs you can watch the games. Ordered a handroll spicy tuna was ok. Unfortunately, after having a good time shopping and wanting to have a drink, Dan so call "bartender" was pretty rude. No welcome nor couldn't have any courtesy in making you feel welcome. I was tempted to just leave and forget my drink but I did want to try it out and have a whole experience. Drinks and atmosphere was great but how could I've enjoyed knowing how rude I was treated. People complain about non tipper and I'm a non tipper if you don't go above an beyond to make me feel welcome and have a good drink. So no tip for you. I wouldn't so much call it a sports bar as a modern, hipster haven! The music here is fantastic. Not too old, not too new. Easy-going & recognizable tunes that make the perfect accompaniment to lunch or happy hour. They have a respectable tap-list and a small menu of classic cocktails done right. The food menu is also really great. Highly recommend the fish tacos. Chicken wings and cauliflower nachos also look really tasty. Cool little bar right smack in the middle of Burbank inside Whole Foods... they have a variety of beers, wine and drinks. They also have food options (vegetarian and vegan also)from hamburgers to sushi (even vegan). The fries are soooooo freakin mouthwatering delicious oh em gee. Ughh! I had a mojito that was fresh, pretty strong and not too sweet. The mint leaves were fresh also and it was only 170 calories. The crowd seems to be from the studios around the area so they were pretty dressed up. The place was popping for a a Wednesday evening at 6:30. I had a tuna sandwich that I picked up from inside Whole Foods. The sandwich had all of the nutrition facts and ingredients. You gotta love that if your watching your caloric intake. Whoever, The first thing they tell you is "YOU ONLY HAVE 30 minutes to eat and drink and after that time either you keep consuming or have to leave the place and they have a security guard marking sure you do it or leave" I hate how they do it specially when you have order already two drinks and a full meal. I love Stage 71 for the daily $12 special. Enjoying a quality meal and a unique, craft beer for under $15 is unheard of in this area. The locals/regulars are friendly, as is the bartender, Marco, who works hard to make your experience pleasant. There are ample TVs to watch sports while you eat inside or outside. There is opportunity for this space to add events to entertain the community and its patrons. I look forward to future visits where I can explore the whole menu and other beverage options. read more

It's hard to believe that what once started with a single family-funded vegetarian supermarket has now expanded to become synonymous with Big Business and Industry itself, thanks to it's recent acquisition by Amazon. But what I like about the company is that even though it might falter and draw criticism every now and then, it always (eventually) remembers its original goal of serving high-quality sustainably-raised and ethically-acquired foods. It has taken the steps necessary to stay in business after almost 40 years, good or bad, and ultimately leaves the deciding power in the hands of the customers. With that said, if you're a customer of the Burbank location, you can decide to visit a restaurant unique to this store: Stage 71! Yes, a restaurant inside of a store (which is on top of a parking structure, if you're really keeping track). Using an extremely minimal theme, Stage 71 alludes to its nearby studio neighbors (Warner Bros., Universal, and Nickelodeon to name a few) with subtle décor and an industry phrase scattered here or there. But it's a full-service restaurant with large glass walls and a view of the San Fernando Valley, and it's tucked away behind the express checkout lane! But none of that matters. Let's get to the fries! The options for fries at Stage 71 are narrow, so let's hope that they're good! You've got regular fries for $3 and certified Vegan, and you've got sweet potato fries also for $3, but not labeled Vegan. Why? It's unclear, but The Frequent Fryer has seen this situation before. Other restaurants will serve sweet potato spuds with an aioli sauce or with bacon bits, but always as an option. That's not the case here, but the label is still mysterious. Either way, both of these are some of the cheapest things you'll find at Whole Foods. Both fries arrive in undersized frying baskets which are assuredly only for show, but they're piled in plentifully, and I'll tell you right now that this simple order is very filling. Two sides should be shared, and one side is enough for most people. A side note for those who prefer ketchup as their condiment: Stage 71 offers Sir Kensington's brand of gluten-free ketchup, which has the same taste as most over-the-counter ketchups without processed sugar. Also, a main ingredient is green peppers, so don't be surprised by the tingling sensation, because it's a nice change! The regular fries are great! They're cut restaurant-style and long, and the skins are flaky and audibly crunchy. There is very little salt sprinkled on, but the potato's taste is bold and wonderful, if somewhat oily. They taste how fries should taste, even though they don't do anything particularly exciting. The interior remains soft despite the excellent outer frying, and they don't limp out after cooling down. Not what you would have expected from a grocery store food court, huh? The sweet potato fries are also pretty good! There's not as much crunch to them, unless you find a thinly-tapered fry that's been compressed to a sharp edge. The fries are tender as if they've been baked instead of fried, and while they're not as long as the other fries their form stays just as intact. Again, there is some salt, but the mild sweet flavor of these spuds is what will stay with you. They're not sugary either, so you won't feel like you're cheating on your diet. We came here to grocery shop and decided to try out the food at Stage 71 before doing our shopping. I tried the handrolls (salmon, california and tuna) and a few pieces of the french fries. They were both delicious! Our food came quickly (you place the order at the left side of the bar and will then be given a buzzer.) Stopped by on Friday night for a quick Happy Hour drink (seriously one of the best Lemon Drops ever) and decided to try the fish and chips. What a delicious surprise! The fish was cooked perfectly with a nice crunch and the fries were literally perfect. I rarely eat them because fries aren't usually great in restaurants but Stage 71 has made a believer in me. Prices are really really fair, it's pretty rare to get a glass of Prosecco Brut or Rosè for just $6 and any other wine glass between $8 and $12. So that is definitely a plus and a good excuse to stop for a wine before or after grocery shopping lol. Came here randomly for a drink with my hubby on our way to Whole Foods, we ended up skipping grocery and just hanging out here. On Friday evening they have a DJ with cool music. Got 2 Moscow mule for $12 each - not cheap but they were awesome and prepared right in front of us immediately when we ordered them. I got a sushi handroll for jus $4.5 and it was super good. My hubby got a cheese burger with French fries - French fries were BOMB!!! Why not 5 stars? We ordered spicy edamame and they were the worst edamame I have ever had which was a bad surprise since the place is super cool and everything else was great. But edamame is a super easy dish to make yet there was not even soy sauce with it they were dry and hard and the spicy powder was very bitter. Still we will for sure come again! read more

Ok so I live 10 mins away from this place, the food is good, this is the place for amazing fresh tacos on Tuesday. There are plenty of flat screens to watch your favorite sport and enjoy many selections of beer as well as great cocktails. Very convenient since your just steps away from some of the freshest great priced groceries with knowledgeable staff to answer any questions you may have. This Whole Foods bar food quality is not as good as other locations. The Whole Foods bar in DTLA tastes so much better. I ordered the cauliflower nachos and wings today. Both items were cold when I picked it when the buzzer went off. The cauliflower nachos were soggy and bland and the wings were cold and didn't have flavor either. I ordered both of these items at the DTLA location before. So disappointed. I ended up tossing most of the food away. read more

Food is decent. Service, on the other hand, is lacking greatly. Don't come here if you are rushed and want to order in a timely manner. If you just want to order food and you have a few people in front that want to sample beers, well they will let them sample the beers and no one will jump on the register to help everyone else in line. That process does not make sense to me. The other staff noticed everyone in line and still didn't go out of their way to try to be helpful.
