I really like Barney's Beanery, which is why it's frustrating that the experience can be such a hit or miss. The food and atmosphere keep bringing me back, but I really wish they were staffed better--from the hosts all the way to the servers. Sometimes you get lucky and the staff is friendly, attentive, and great. Unfortunately, most of the time, I find the servers to be pretty dismissive, which can really take away from the experience. Especially with tipping percentages being so high these days, you would think the service would reflect that and give customers a reason to leave a better tip. At times, it almost feels like the attitude is, "You're already here, so you have to put up with it." That shouldn't be the case. Good service should be part of the overall experience, not something you have to get lucky with. Don't get me wrong--I still like Barney's Beanery and will probably continue coming back. I just wish they would put more emphasis on hiring and staffing with friendlier, more attentive people. With better service, this place could be so much more enjoyable. read more

Eh, pretty mid. Food was not bad; we had the club sandwich, and it was big enough to share between me and my wife, but man, those wait times are horrendous. It does not even matter if the food was buzzing because the wait times were cruel. Ordered drinks that took 20 mins to come, even basic water. Took another 20 minutes to order food. Surprisingly, food came quickly, but the waiter disappeared again for 45 mins, and we wanted to order some cocktails. Had to order from the bar, but they said we couldn't because we had a table. They said they would send someone, and it took 15 minutes for them to come to our table. We ordered more cocktails, and it took another 15 mins to get them. We wanted one more round of drinks but could not get the waiter, so we literally had to go hunting for him. Getting the check also took a long time, both to get it and to get the receipt after giving the card. Do not recommend this place for food. But maybe for a drink at the bar. It is pretty big, and it has Hangbour vibes; they even play South Park on one of their giant screens. Other than just to hang out for a drink, I would not dine here. Don't recommend. read more

Highly frustrating experience with both management and service during the USA vs. Bosnia game. I called ahead and was explicitly told this location operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis for major soccer matches and does not take reservations. Yet, when I arrived 1.5 hours before kickoff, I was told the stadium seating area was fully booked. The area was clearly half empty, and management gave me a vague, inconsistent explanation when confronted about the policy. To make matters worse, we were then assigned a bartender who completely ignored our table for a solid half-hour while serving the tables right next to us. She was checking out because her shift was ending and completely abandoned our table without a handoff. I eventually had to flag down a waitress who had given me excellent service on a previous day to ask what was going on. She confirmed the bartender was supposed to be serving us and immediately went out of her way to transition us to a new server. This new waitress took over and was absolutely superb! While these two helpful waitresses saved the day, management seriously needs to fix their shift change protocols and provide honest, transparent communication regarding their reservation policies. read more

First timer! This place is awesome. Met with some co workers for lunch on a Saturday. It was perfect. Our waitress was so cool and helpful. Always with a smile. I ordered the avocado bacon burger.. it was perfect. I definitely would order that again. Also the taster tots I love me some tater tots. I really liked their Bloody Mary also. Barney's bakery is a great place because their menu is huge. I decided to get a steak fajita and it was delicious. The steak had perfect flavor and it had a great portion of peppers and onions! I was really disappointed with my experience at this location. I've been to the Westwood location several times, and the food there is always fresh, well presented, and delicious. Unfortunately, this was the complete opposite. The tacos looked like they were made from old, overcooked leftovers. The meat was dry and burned, and they were covered in so much sauce that they became completely soggy and fell apart. They were honestly inedible. I've attached a photo because the presentation speaks for itself. I know this restaurant is capable of much better based on my experience at Westwood, which made this visit even more disappointing. I hope they improve their consistency because this location did not meet the standard I expected. Also..... Our waitress ignored us for at least 10 minutes. About time to update my review, 13 years later. Burbank Barney's '26 operates much more smoothly. The food is still consistently good (their jalapeno Juicy Lucy burger is a new favourite) and the cocktails are tite. Servers are efficient, even on a busy Friday night. It's always clean, and parking is still easy. If I'm in Burbank, as much as I like Finney's and Over/Under, sometimes I prefer the comforts of Barney's. read more

This place has great food and service. I've been in a number of times and the ambience is my favorite. They have really yummy Cobb salads and great mixed drinks. We came in one night and they were doing karaoke. How fun! Parking is kind of tough since they're near the AMC, but we've always been able to find a spot if we look around. Barney's Beanery in Burbank delivered a great overall experience that came very close to perfection. The stuffed burger the BBQ Bacon Juicy Lucy was fantastic -- very juicy and cheesy, with the bun having just the right amount of squish. You could tell it was made with care. The fries or potato wedges were bomb -- super crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. The wings were another plus. They were very tasty and absolutely piping hot when they arrived at the table -- exactly how all wings should be served. Alongside the meal, I ordered a Stella Artois, it was one of the coldest beers I've ever had in a restaurant. It was so chilled that tiny ice chips had formed inside, making it incredibly refreshing. I think they knew how cold it would be because they gave me a room temperature glass which would have ruined the ice cold Stella so I drank it from the bottle. Unfortunately, the meal took a dip when the Route 66 pizza sausage, mushroom, and pepperoni, came out. It was a total disappointment. The flavor just wasn't there -- the sauce( what sauce) if there was any sauce it tasted bland, the pepperoni was thin and unflavorful, the sausage was unsavory and the dough had no character. It felt like there was no real love or effort put into creating it. After such standout dishes earlier in the meal, the pizza which was last to the table, was a big letdown and dragged down what could have been a perfect dining experience. I even took it home and airfield it to give it a second chance before I wrote this review.. No Thanks it was slightly better but after 2 bites of the first slice.. I was over the pizza...just not good... Overall, Barney's Beanery should have scored a solid 5 out of 5 for the atmosphere, the excellent service from Denisse, the stuffed burger, and the bone-in Buffalo wings. But because of the bland pizza, I'd have to give it a 4 out of 5. Still, I highly recommend visiting for the Juicy Lucy burger and wings --iMO just skip the pizza, dont even think about getting the pizza. read more

I have been a huge Barney's fan for over a decade, but didn't think of checking out the one in Burbank until now. It is the closest to my house and an easy quick drive. The parking is right next door in a garage that is free for three hours -- so convenient. The vibe and the menu are what I love about Barney's. It is so funky, so much fun, so filled with memorabilia to study, and then there are the screens at every table to entertain us with whatever is current in sports this weekend. We laughed the whole time at the timber contest events, for example. The service was great. Michael greeted us and took care of everything we needed. He was even able to make suggestions for me to ensure I had the vegetarian/vegan version of the dishes I wanted to order. Then there is that menu, OMG. It is pages long, filled with delicious (and a bit fattening, just saying ...) things that I expect when I choose to come to Barneys. From appetizers to desserts and drinks, everything is decadent and wonderful. See my pictures for what we chose. The portions are gigantic, so we took a huge bag home. The bill was really reasonable, even with the extra jumbo container of vegetarian chili I ordered -- it was so good! Everything is clean from floor to ceiling. We go at an off hour to make sure we get the seat of our choice and even so, the bar tables were filled with people watching the Dodgers, cheering and having a good time. Their joy was contagious. This is a place to take anyone and everyone from kids to grandparents. What little changes would I suggest? The tartar sauce was weird -- very rubbery and slimy. We couldn't eat it. The Caesar had a bit more dressing than we prefer. My Huevos Rancheros were fabulous but very hot and spicy -- I'm cool with that, but I think they should ask mild, medium, hot, etc. But, it doesn't matter. I love that place and it is on the regular rotation now, in beautiful downtown Burbank! read more

I also needed assistance and received the assistance that I needed but with a smile. They really went above and beyond to get our items to everyone as fast as the could. I think only one item was "late" out of way too many for me to even bring up here because who in their right mind would read a review that was so specific to their experience that the review wouldn't really help others decide if they should go to the establishment or not? I also won some money at pool. The pool table is a classic bar table (not the full size but we had most of the room we needed - plus I had all the room I needed to win). This is a cool spot buried near the mall and sandwiched between all the endless restaurants in Burbank. I came here with a few friends and we couldn't find anywhere to go for a beer that wasn't packed due to the UFC fight being televised. Long behold, we found this place. We grabbed a beer by the bar while waiting for our seat to be cleared. The food here is pretty good. We got the asada nachos and BBQ burger and more beers. Interesting setting with tons of photos placed underneath the glass of the tables you are dining at. I had to laugh at one particular photo of Diddy placed next to Marilyn Manson. Kayla was our server and was very attentive. The restrooms were clean and the service was great. If your in the area and in a pinch like we were with all the bars/restaurants being packed or placed with cover charges due to the fights being televised, i recommend coming here. read more

This dive bar is a staple for anyone who loves watching sports/fights or just chilling with friends to play pool. The food here is surprisingly good and has a variety! I've had pretty much every appetizer here and you can't go wrong. The sweet potato fries, burgers, quesadillas, everything was great. Michelada and their beers were amazing. And you can even ask to make your burger protein style! They have gorgeous outside seating with TVs everywhere. But my favorite was sitting on the couches in the center with a huge screen. This place is awesome, and unique. They have cool decorations like license plates from different states. Lastly the service is always friendly and attentive! Instead of a friendly/fun environment, you have nasty bartenders that are too busy on their phone or serving their boyfriend/love interest free shots instead of waiting on patrons. I came here with a group for karaoke night and we all enjoyed the wings and the vibes of the place a lot and plan on coming back. The service was really helpful we had a server, Adam, who made us laugh and offered great recommendations. We chose this very unique and super fun location for the first night of our family vacation. We absolutely loved it. The wife and the boy played pool while I took photos of the vintage motorcycle. We ordered the fried pickles and the Barney's Fries. Both were absolutely amazing especially those fried pickles. Our family are not huge fans of sweet pickles so I think if they used dill pickles on the fries they would have been a little better. But they were still delicious.
