I had the $23 broiled walleye dinner and was disappointed. There was a fishy aroma when it arrived and it didn't appear to have any seasoning except for paprika. Luckily it didn't taste fishy but the lack of seasoning and the smell made it difficult to enjoy. The tartar sauce tasted like a mixture of mayo and pickle juice but had very little actual pickle pieces or seasoning. The salad was flavorless iceberg lettuce with a couple cucumber slices and a tomato slice. The blue cheese dressing was good, though.  The French onion soup had decent flavor but was missing cheese. Maybe it is unfair to expect that but adding Swiss or parmesan would have elevated it to a whole new level. The bread sticks and crackers were sealed in tiny plastic bags. The Au gratin potatoes tasted OK but had what appeared to be a slice of processed cheese melted on top. Overall I've noticed this type of food preparation is pretty typical for rural WI supper clubs but I was hoping that the higher prices here would be accompanied by fresher fish and higher quality ingredients. We've been going to The Stagecoach for many years. It had always been too small for how popular it was. Well, owner Sean solved that over the last 6 months! We have been back there 3 or 4 times since it enlarged, and it's more enjoyable than ever. The food is perhaps better than ever. (The kitchen was enlarged too.) The waitresses are as fast and efficient as ever, and Sean appears to have increased the size of the staff to keep things moving as always. This is a most enjoyable place to go for dinner. The only task left is to fix/ improve/ enlarge the parking lot, but that will come in time. read more

The place was jampacked... Delicious old fashions and the table was ready right on time for our reservation. The prime rib was very flavorful, three people had the fillet which was also delicious (and I would order next time). I would have given it five stars yet for the French dressing that tasted like cocktail sauce, the waitress forgetting one of our soups (and getting salad before the soup and then basically at the same time) and us receiving getting the onion rings I ordered with dinner basically for our dessert and were still charged for them! read more

This is my favorite supper club of all time. The owner, Sean, is a consummate host. Everything is beautifully managed. The drinks are always perfectly made. The relish tray harks back to another era, perfectly in keeping with a supper club. The salad is generous and fresh. I heartily recommend the Rombauer Chardonnay which pairs beautifully with all the fish dishes. I particularly like the fried walleye. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Heard so much about this place and it being a solid Wisco supper club so let's give it a go. From the moment we walked in at 4:30 for a 5:00 reservation we were warmly welcomed. Not a problem to sit at a hi top and have a cocktail or two before dinner - made perfectly btw. Of course we can bring your bar tab over to your table.... On a Friday we went with steaks against the normal Friday fish fry. Steaks were perfectly cooked, seasoned, and presented. The service from the moment we walked in, before, during, and after dinner was exceptional. Very friendly like we've been there many times. Do not pass this place up. It is a solid dining experience (and yes for those that have to have a relish tray to call it a supper club for some reason) they have that as well. Cannot wait to return. read more

Waited 10 minutes for a hostess to recognize us even though no one else was in line. Server had a chip on her shoulder, took order and most of the time, others cleared the table or brought food. My wife had a tasteless filet - no seasoning whatsoever . I had the lobster which was good. The homemade Fries are great. The "relish tray" is in reality a cold salad tray . It is not the kind of relish tray I'm used to and love (celery, radish, carrots, etc). The prices are good but not worth the trip. Followup (within a few days): I was contacted by the owner and I must say I have never heard from such a honest, straight forward person. He sincerely wants to help and improve. I have changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars because of this. The filet wasn't great, but beef lately can be that way it seems. Worth trying it again, and, if problems I will mention it at the time. As far as the hostess, we had entered through the "back of the restaurant" - the highway changed the driveway so that it opens to the back of the restaurant. That's a recent change that everyone should be aware of. THe owner assured me they are working on a solution. All in all, its worth another try. So...Stagecoach Inn was a great spot for a family dinner in Wisconsin. I hadn't been to a supper club in a while and we figured...why not?! Only 4 reviews, but they were all good, so we decided to try it. The place was very crowded, which is always a good sign. Our waitress was welcoming (even to us non-locals...). The food quantity - OMG - huge portions. The relish platter was delicious (we don't really get these options at home). Everything I tried was good, though the quantities, for me, were way too large. I wish I would have known, so that I could have shared an entree. So, good food, good service, a fun atmosphere and a nice place to have dinner. Definitely worth a visit. read more

We visited this restaurant for our anniversary. It was ok. Probably one of the better restaurants in the area, especially on a weeknight. The relish tray was not appealing as it consisted of salads many looked to be a mayonnaise base. The house made salad dressing and soup was very good. My steak was ok- not the best or the worst I've ever had. When I asked for a different fork (than my salad fork) for my steak, our server acted a bit annoyed and replied, "that's a bit much..." I did get another fork, but I found her response very rude and I was really taken aback. Most restaurants I've eaten at offer 2 separate forks for salad and/ or appetizer and your dinner. Now to be fair, when my husband didn't like his potatoes au gratin that he ordered, and I asked if f we could get the fries instead, she said yes and brought us fries which were very good. When I left, I walked by about 3-4 employees and no one acknowledged said goodbye or have a good night even though I had to walk right past them to leave. I wouldn't rush to eat here again but in a Monday or Tuesday there's not many other restaurants in the area that seem to be open. read more

We found this supper club while we were camping in Milton. We have been there three times now. We went last Saturday bringing our daughter and son in law there to celebrate her birthday. They did not disappoint! Everyone's meal was perfect. 5 stars for their breaded pork tenderloins! We finished with a sampling of their several in house made desserts and of course a brandy Alexander. Got one of the worst bouts of food poisoning from this place that I've had in years- I was sick for hours!! I will not be dining here again. We had this place recommended to us by many different people on many different occasions, but when we went here, we left feeling disappointed. The relish tray was bizarre and two people in my party had to spit out what they tried from it because it had a weird taste. The rolls were not made in house :( and the crab plate was tiny for the price- a thirty dollar plate with two slabs of crab... not worth the pretty penny. Met some friends here and though the place is small, they accommodated our large group (10) well. Service at the bar was good, made a good brandy old fashion sweet. For dinner I ordered the T-Bone steak medium with au gratin potatoes. The steak was prepared medium and came with a side of au jus. The steak had minimal seasoning, but was good. My wife ordered the filet and that was pretty good. Someone else ordered deep-fried lobster bites for dinner. Those were out of this world good! Before dinner we ordered some appetizers, and enjoyed the cheese curds and onion rings. Overall had a pleasant experience and would recommend the lobster bite meal and filet over the T-bone. Went there with my two brothers and the wives as part of our monthly Wisconsin supper club outings. There have been some hits and some misses for sure. The Stagecoach Inn was definitely a HIT. The Old Fashioned was an authentic Wisconsin drink done right. The relish trays and bread were plentiful and delicious. Soup and salads - very good. We all ordered a filet or prime rib. The steaks were done to perfection. The prices were definitely in the upper range for a supper club but that's not really a complaint. Don't mind paying a little more for a wonderful experience. A great WI diners club. Food and service are excellent. The restaurant has great daily specials. A great night out, stop at bar before dinner for drink and appetizer, they prep table while you wait. Make reservations, restaurant is popular and fills up quick on weekends, especially in the summer when Lake Koshkonong is busy. I've been there a couple of times for the fish fry and always wonder why I don't eat there more often. The service is top notch and the food does not disappoint. I had the perch and it was excellent. Had to wait outside on deck seating. But while you wait servers come out bring you drinks and take your order so when your table is ready so is your food. My family of five visited here six months ago and I'm still getting razzed about it. I chose this supper club because my family likes the experience and we visit a different one monthly. This place was packed. We couldn't get to the bar or find a place to stand. Every spot was full and we visited in January so it was too cold to stand outside. We arrived early to have some drinks but ending up shuffling around to find a place to stand. One of my family members made it to the bar 10 minutes before our reservations. With the lack of space, most of us passed on a drink in fear of it spilling. We were seated at a table that was questioned on its location. This table was RIGHT in the way of traffic. Three of us had our chairs constantly bumped and rubbed against. There was no option to move. All tables everywhere were full so we had to stay seated there. The relish tray was a joke. Two of the sides were canned vegetables made into "salads" that had no seasoning. Canned corn with a few roasted red peppers and then a bean salad straight from the can? No thanks! The beet side dish was good though. All of us had French onion soup and it was so flavorless. I had no onions in my bowl as did one other person. It was just broth and a TON of cheese with the crouton. The salad was pretty standard. It was what I expected, not too fancy but not too plain. I had parmesan peppercorn dressing which was great. I ordered a steak and baked potato for the entrée. My steak was cooked perfect (medium rare), well seasoned and hot. Although my potato was hot and fresh, the foil was cut into the potato itself so I kept picking out pieces of foil but eventually gave up, just leaving it on my plate. Three people in the party ordered prime rib. It came out completely cold. The potato situation was the same for all of us. Needless to say, there are no plans for me to go back anytime soon. Will I try it again at some point? Maybe. Probably not. read more

What I first noticed about this place when I walked in was that the atmosphere was small and cozy. The log cabin-like walls look new and are very Wisconsinesque. The crowd is generally middle-aged to older. The staff are very professional and friendly--especially the bartenders (who hand-mix the ice cream drinks) and the owner (ask to see a picture of his dog). They really seem to take an interest in their customers. We had to wait awhile at the bar for a table to open up, though the service is fairly prompt. I ordered the French Friend Lobster which was deep fried lobster chunks. A salad and choice of potato came with it. The salad was standard and the lobster was great (melted butter to dip included). I got au gratin potatoes, which were good, except that there was half of a slice of American cheese on top...that was odd because the place is kind of classy. I was with my parents and they both enjoyed their meals--walleye and a steak. And, just because I always want to know, the coleslaw was creamy and not too vinegary. Expect to spend between 10-30 for your meal...the menu is meat and seafood meals...I don't believe there are pastas or salads (besides side salads) but I'm not positive. It's a small restaurant and stays busy...reservations can only be made for parties of 5 or larger. I would surely recommend this place to a friend and hope to go back myself. P.S. Old school supper club that screams Wisconsin! Yep, they have the relish tray but sadly no salad bar shoved up against a wall. Luckily, the iceberg lettuce they serve as the salad makes up for lack of a salad bar. Speaking of walls, this place is dark and woody, just like a really supper club should be. The food you ask? Hell ya! Where in Chicago will you find prime rib or filets of this quality for the screaming deal you find here? You won't. Trust me on this one. Their Au gratin potatoes are cheesy good. Can't vouch for the wine because when you are in WI you must go with an Old Fashion or Manhattan cocktail. The servers are outgoing, knowledgable and efficent. I love places like this. We've enjoyed the Stagecoach for nearly 30 years. The newest renovations are stunning. Same fabulous service! The food is never disappointing. I can honestly say we compare EVERY other restaurants' attempts with Prime Rib, to The Stagecoach. Best in Wisconsin as far as we're concerned. Also, the Friday night fish fry is a master piece. Jason has been there for many years and has perfected the batter. The Fried Lake Perch is small and crispy tender, with a flavor that can't be beat! Retro in a good way Go here if you want an old fashioned supper club experience with good food. The relish tray is a blast from the past. Reports are it went great with the brandy old fashioned. Ok the salad is ice berg and the vinaigrette is from a bottle but the steaks (I had a perfectly prepared tenderloin medallion) were great and well priced. No veggies beyond salad which was a bit odd but selection of potatoes and the side mushrooms were just fine. A slice of American cheese on the au gratins made a statement and I haven't seen those faux bamboo weave salad dishes in many years but it all seems to work. The fish "fry" is a real deal. No way are they making money on the broiled cod - huge portion. The staff is great. The manager could not be nicer and every waitress we have had has been beyond competent handling our large party with ease. The wine selection is heavy on well-priced cabs, so go here for a nice steak with a good cab in a friendly atmosphere at a fair price. read more

The wife and I are on a supper club kick right now and decided to try the StageCoach Inn tonight. Very quick seating for 7pm but it's also a Wednesday. We ordered filet mignon, queen and king size. One with baked potato and the other with au gratin. Also comes with salad, french onion soup and a relish tray. We didn't know what the point of the relish tray was because it was really bad. Salads were just lettuce and dressing, nothing special. French onion soup was good. Steaks came out and we're cooked how we wanted them. Mine though was over seared and burnt on the top. Really burnt. Her's was cooked perfectly and she enjoyed her entree. So far we have been to 4 supper clubs and plan on visiting more and this one will probably stay ranked at the bottom for a while. I wouldn't say we won't give this place another try, just not for a while. read more
