    Apple fritter.

Best Chantilly cake ever, very moist and the right amount of sweetness. The workers are very kind! I heard they make the cakes for all the businesses in the area. The other pastries are good also had the biggest apple fritter in the world and their panko mayo chicken was awesome.they do close early so make plans to visit them.

Ube and guava filled donuts. Sorry, took a bite before remembering to take a photo.

Their pastrami and veggie sandwich on focaccia bread is fantastic. The pastries and pies are great. Their bentos can't be beat for the price. The ladies working the counters are friendly and helpful. The outside doesn't look like much but you'll be amazed at all their offerings.

This is their small bento box, the large one must be huge!

I passed this place hundreds of times before I even noticed it. Once I noticed it I passed another dozen times before I had the presence of mine to stop. This place is super cool, a hidden gem. Classic Hawaiian Asian food, I got an entire Bento box with fish, shrimp, spam, sliced beef, sausage and rice for less than the price of a big Mac. I'm sure the Malasadas and other baked goods are terrific as well. No place to sit, just to go.

There are 2 Anpan buns in a package

It is my first time visit to this bakery which is next to the old Oshima general store (but now a Oshima Surf shoppe). I was waiting for my wife, who was shopping across the street and spotted a few local customers entered the shop and come out with food. Unfortunately, it was about 1245hr so it was closing for the day. Almost every Bento boxes and fresh pastries were gone but I picked up their "Anpan" original baked good. Soft, tasty Asian buns with red bean paste. Not too sweet but awfully tasty. The folks behind the counter were very nice. A cup of their Kona coffee along with my Anpan treat had me on my way back yo Kailua...until the next time. Will make sure I add this bakery in my contact list and come earlier.

    Awesome little lunch!

Friendly, quality local bakery. Support them by getting your baked goods here instead of at the big chain stores!

The malasadas are absolutely delicious, and so are the breads and cookies. Service is friendly and quick, even when there's a line.

Great bakery but go early. Runs out of baked goods early, closes by 1pm. Chantilli cake is the best!

I wanted a flavored gender reveal cake and we weren't allowed to pick anything flavor of cake other than vanilla, which I can understand for the frosting it's easier to color a vanilla frosting. But cake? Nothing else ? Not even Haupia ? I've baked cakes for years. I wanted another local bakery to do this surprise for us and such a disappointment, clearly over baked and done the day before. Wasn't fresh. For the price it was a huge miss. Frosting was nice. And yes sadly we will finish the $80 6 " inch around Vanilla on vanilla cake with Ube ice cream. Highly recommend.

In the meantime, I ordered 3 specialty drinks: toasted coconut hot chocolate, chocolate chai latte, Mauka Trail mocha (with non-dairy Mac nut milk), and a Kona Coffee & chocolate gelato milk shake. Every beverage was delicious! The young lady, who made them was very sweet, friendly, and soft spoken. The young lady helping my brother with the sweets was also very nice & friendly. The interior was really cute with a section dedicated to keiki (children). There were tables and a seating area with couches and a little gift shop displaying colorful artwork by local artists all illuminated by interesting lighting. We definitely want to return before we leave to try their gelato. But, we will also pick up more desserts because their baked goods were truly scrumptious, which included Lilikoi pie, flourless chocolate cake, a variety of cannolis, cookies, and Ricotta pound cake. We were on a sugar high but that's vacation in Hawaii for you! Aloha!

KTA Express, you're a lifesaver!…read more I came to the KTA Express store twice in recent weeks, and this store/supermarket totally saved me from having to drive back in town (Kailua-Kona) to buy something I sorely needed. I was working at a local bank next door doing some lock work when I realized I needed a few 9-volt batteries to fix something. Being that I was traveling, and did not have access to all my normal gear, I asked the bank people where was the nearest store? Originally I was worried that I might have to drive all the way back to Kailua-Kona to get what I needed, but luckily KTA had a store in Kealakekua. Walked over to the KTA store, as it was just a hop, skip, & jump away from the local bank (where I was working). Got what I needed, and time & resources were saved that day! Last week Thursday I found myself back in Kealakekua working at a credit union this time. No, I didn't need anything in particular for the credit union this time, but after finishing the job at the credit union, the KTA store was very convenient for me to get some drinks & some grub. Apparently the KTA Express has a vendor - L&L Drive-In that does pre-made - ready to eat bentos. Some of the items looked pretty good, so I decided to give it a shot & picked up a mini BBQ Chicken & Noodle Bento. The mini bento was pretty tasty, and best part of it all is that I didn't have to go far to get my lunch grub. KTA Express in Kealakekua, you're a lifesaver! Lol!

Parking: They have a small parking lot. Very easy to find. Free parking. This was a large market. It had everything a grocery store provided, but products were a bit more expensive than usual.
