Bought a Diet Pepsi and it tasted horrible. Checked the expiration date and it expired last May! Do better!

Friendly Service and Home Made Country Style Food I drive by the Stanford general store very regularly. However I have never stopped in to get a bite to eat. The girl who I'm assuming is Nettie after the name of the deli seems very friendly and she also works very hard to make all the food for the large number of people trying to grab their breakfast on the way to work. I haven't tried a lunch or dinner here but the breakfast was tasty. I think it was called the farmers breakfast or ranch breakfast or something like that. It was a good deal as far as value for the dollar and the food also tasted good. Stop by and have yourself a snack sometime!

We were able to go around the building and park in a much larger lot used by the Showlow municipal complex. We came in a side door followed a party of three. The server saw them and asked them to sit in an open table (while balancing plates she was delivering to another table - pretty impressive!). She then asked the hostess to seat us. Outstanding service! We were seated and the hostess took our drink orders. My wife wanted orange juice and she said they were out of OJ. We placed our orders. While we were waiting for our orders, the hostess came back over to tell us that they just got some Orange juice in. My wife ordered it and it was delivered a short time later. My wife liked her multi-grain pancakes. My omelette was good as were the new potatoes. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy had a very nice hint of black pepper in it. It really made the biscuits and gravy stand out. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended!

Several of us ordered BLTs. The first person to order hers asked for her bacon extra crispy. The waitress said its always crispy. Well, we were served BLTs with a sad amount of sad grey fatty limp bacon. Luckily I was splitting a BLT and a patty melt with a friend so at least I had half of that to eat. It wasn't amazing but tolerable. Other than the bad BLTs, everyone's feedback was food was ok not great. Sides of fries and onion rings seemed like frozen food supply items but were fine. We did notice some plates had a lot and some very little. We got coconut cream pie to go and the crust on these really stood out. Has to be made in house. I'd come back for pie.

The café is small, quaint, spotless, and filled with playful bear décor that gives the whole place a warm, cheerful personality. It has the cozy feel of an old-fashioned country diner--the kind of place where you can settle in with a hot cup of coffee and enjoy a hearty, homemade breakfast. And let's talk about the food and those portions--OH MY! I ordered three eggs, bacon, hash browns, and homemade biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked to order, arrived surprisingly fast, and tasted wonderful. The biscuits and gravy especially satisfied that serious comfort-food craving I had that morning. They were warm, filling, and exactly what I needed! The coffee was a good, strong black brew that fit the country-café experience perfectly, and the prices were exactly what I would expect to pay for such a generous breakfast. The restaurant was busy, and with only two waitresses working, they could definitely have used another set of hands. A few guests had to ask for coffee refills or their checks, but this is a brand-new restaurant, and I am sure they are still working out the little details. The staff was working hard, so bring a little patience and enjoy the experience. Lovely Bear Cafe has all the ingredients to become a local favorite: delicious homemade food, huge portions, reasonable prices, fun décor, and plenty of small-town charm. Give this new café a chance to delight you the next time you are visiting the Pinetop-Lakeside area!

A little advice: if you are going for breakfast, arrive early--especially on a weekend. Darbi's gets busy! But whether you are waiting for breakfast or lunch, trust me, it is worth it. The portions are enormous, the food is excellent, and this team clearly knows how to serve a crowd. They have the whole operation dialed in. The restaurant itself is adorable, full of personality, and has the kind of lively, welcoming atmosphere that makes a meal feel like part of the vacation. For lunch, Dan ordered the Monte Cristo, served on a French toast bun with raspberry compote for dipping. It was sweet, savory, crispy, and absolutely delicious. We shared it, of course! I ordered the green chile cheeseburger, and it was packed with flavor. Breakfast was a whole adventure. We ordered one cinnamon roll to share, not realizing it was approximately the size of four normal cinnamon rolls! We both laughed, cut ourselves a slice, and immediately asked for a box. It was warm, ooey-gooey perfection, loaded with cinnamon and butter and covered in cream cheese frosting. Honestly, it may have been the best cinnamon roll I have ever eaten. As though that were not enough, we had also ordered a side of bacon--four generous slices--and full breakfasts. We both chose the prime rib Benedict, and it was incredible. The eggs were large and beautifully colored, the English muffin was tender, the sauce was just right, and the hash browns had that perfect crispy crunch. Needless to say, we did not finish everything at either meal. Darbi's definitely believes in leftovers! The prices were very reasonable, and the waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming during both visits. Between the huge portions, creative dishes, fun atmosphere, and outstanding food, Darbi's is a must for breakfast or lunch in Pinetop. Go hungry, arrive early, and save room in the car for your leftover boxes!

Told us that if don't have the money to pay we should not have come in, and told us to just leave. We left money on the table to pay for the other 2 meals that were eaten. We don't have a problem paying for our food, we have a problem with unseasoned meat that is over priced and tough. ($48 for a filet mignon) The owner took our steaks away, after 1 bite on one of the steaks and offered to give us 25% off, didn't offer to remake them, just took them away. It used to be a nice place, but that was the worst experience we have ever had. I don't think we will be back after that horrifyingly awful manager/owner and her overly rude comment. On a positive note, the server was fantastic even though the manager tried to made her the bad guy!

The mandatory buffet at $28.98 would be a bargain if they had a good cook or a chef. They must have put out the trays at 10 when they opened and when we came in at 12:15 the pancakes, the Benedict couldn't be cut with a steak knife. The prime rib was not available rare and could not have been any thinner. The prime rib and the ribs were so salty as to be almost inedible. What was left of the eggs had obviously been there over an hour. The sausage and bacon were dried out. The wait staff were friendly and it is a shame. They suffer from a cook with no taste and an owner who needs hearing aids. I hope before the word of mouth kills them that they get a cook who can cook or a consultation with a quality chef and rethink the music. Prime rib should be 1/2 inch minimum. Ribs should never be oversalted, and only make small amounts of foods for a buffet, replace items every half hour.
