We both ordered the pulled pork on a bake potato (that night's special) and a salad. The salad was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce with croutons. My blue cheese dressing was better than most I've tasted at this type of restaurant. The potato was huge and was cooked well. The topping, which consisted of bbq sauce, lots of this sliced fried onions and very little pulled pork was pretty good. Both my wife and were disappointed by how little pulled pork there was. It seemed like the fried onions were used to "bulk up" the amount of topping. We'd come back, but we would not order a special dish.

The coffee was a good, strong black brew that fit the country-café experience perfectly, and the prices were exactly what I would expect to pay for such a generous breakfast. The restaurant was busy, and with only two waitresses working, they could definitely have used another set of hands. A few guests had to ask for coffee refills or their checks, but this is a brand-new restaurant, and I am sure they are still working out the little details. The staff was working hard, so bring a little patience and enjoy the experience. Lovely Bear Cafe has all the ingredients to become a local favorite: delicious homemade food, huge portions, reasonable prices, fun décor, and plenty of small-town charm.
