They took the time to explain what they were doing with the transmission/front diff fluid, rear diff fluid, and brake/clutch fluid service, which I really appreciated. After the service, the car shifts noticeably smoother with the Redline Fluid Blend and the brakes feel great (DOT 4 Upgrade). Everything feels refreshed and done properly, and it's clear they know their stuff. Pricing was also very fair -- I ended up saving about $100 compared to what the dealership quoted me, which was a huge plus. Overall really happy with the service. Then I see the sign Texas Track Works. Yup, I'm in the right place. There is small waiting room when you enter the door, then a bigger room in the back to wait for your alignment. After waiting a few minutes for one of workers to come in, another customer told me they should be right back. Apparently this is popular spot for guys that autocross their cars. A moment later I was greeted by one of the workers. He had my appointment, and told me it would just be a little bit as they ran into an issue with car before me, no problem, I understand. He asked me some questions to get an idea of what my alignments need were. Simple, just wanted to drive on the freeway a little straighter after hitting potholes with all this construction going on. They took my car in, and were done pretty quickly. They gave me the readout, and explained the adjustments they made to return it to stock settings. He also told me to try it out, and if it didn't feel right, just bring it back. I drove it home, and it felt more solid, and straighter. I brought my car here, because of the reviews, and I'm glad I did. I originally went to another shop and they told me they had to keep my car for atleast half a day to do adjustments, and it was going to cost 3x as much as these guys. These guys are honest and know what they are doing. If you're unsure what's wrong with your alignment or ride, just bring it here. There are too many bad shops out there trying to rip people off. Besides these guys don't want your car to take up space & time, because they have so much business.

I called House of Hotrods on the recommendation from a mechanic that is retiring. He recommended…read morethem as he is retiring and I needed someone competent to work on my 1969 Double COPO Camaro Berger Tribute. I spec'd this car out, had it custom built and bought most of the parts direct from two sources that provide high quality parts that are either NOS or OEM quality. I furnished over $60,000 in parts. So with the background, back to House of Hotrods. I called to see about having the heater box and all contents replaced. I have all the correct parts, not cheap, bought from the two sources above in the last year. This includes a brass and copper heater core and all gaskets and new mounting clips and rubber. I spoke with Beth, who explained they will do NO WORK with customer furnished parts. They are unknown quality, or something to that effect, is what she told me. She was going to have her boss call me. To date no one has called me. I am unclear if that is the owner or the shop foreman. My car is a nut and bolt full restoration. It was built to my specifications, is a life long dream come to life, and I don't just put cheap parts in it. I am attaching photos so all can see. So here is my take on this business, having gone through having the car built, sorting out all of the gremlins that the builder did not address in the build and getting it to where I can drive it anytime I want in warm weather. So what this business is saying, in MY OPINION, is that they want to control purchasing and installing parts from THEIR vendors, who I don 't know, add their mark up to the unknown quality (unknown to me) part, and install it. Anyone who does a full restoration on a classic car does it as a labor of love. A car they have dreamed about for years, literally. These people may do good work, I never got the chance to find out. But they fall short in customer service, keeping a simple promise to return a call, and not even looking at what parts I am supplying. I promise they are NOT cheap. Why do you want to let any vendor take your right to determine what parts you want installed? They get paid for labor, and not the standard shop rate, it is much higher than that. I accept that, am willing to pay it. The car in the pictures should be proof of that. I have never gotten a warranty in any of the work done on my Camaro. Nor do I expect one, including this repair. I simply want quality work and to have heat in the coming winter. I am going to reference this experience to any one I talk to. Everyone who wants to know about restoration process and who I DON'T recommend. I don't recommend House of Hotrods. Find a builder who will build your car the way you want it. With the parts you want to use. After all it is YOUR car.

I came to SLP for help with fully stripping and repainting my lancer evo x. I had been parking…read moreoutside for a decade and the texas sun had slowly worn down and deteriorated not only the clear coat, but began to wear down the red paint leaving metal in places. Along with a full repaint, there were a number of small to medium maintenance things that needed doing, re surfacing the interior ceiling with new cloth, fixing some minor body issues, polishing and clearing up my head lamps. It was a lot of work, and took about a month - but when I got my car back on the other end I almost didn't recognize it. SLP did a fantastic job and they have my full recommendation and will be going back for other work in the future. Thank you !
