I landed at Dr Boyd in the most difficult way. My stranger punched me and took some of my teeth out. I wanted a gentle and gay affirming dentist and this is how I found Doctor Boyd. His gentle calm and kind approach was just what I need in that hard time. I've been seeing him ever since and I refer him to many friends and coworkers too. He's the best. His office staff is great with scheduling and billing. The design of the office itself is beautiful and so well done - it makes going there more pleasant. Stan has been my dentist for more years than I can remember, and I wouldn't have anyone else! His expertise is beyond amazing, and his "chairside manner" is nonpareil. He is so gentle and always does his best to minimize any pain or discomfort while getting the job done. And he analyzes a patient's needs and works to best balance them against the insurance and financial realities of dentistry, something I never remember with any other dentist. His administrative staff is equally excellent, efficient and some of the kindest ladies I have ever known. And his hygenist is as thorough and gentle as he is. As someone with horrible anxiety on the best of days, just thinking about the dentist is enough to send me into a panic attack. Except when I visit Dr Boyd. Dr Boyd and his staff do everything to make me completely comfortable. From blankets and pillows to someone sitting with me when the Doc is busy so I'm not alone. This place is absolutely the best. I barely get nervous about the dentist when I know I'm coming here. Unfortunately for Dr Boyd, this means that he is never allowed to retire. Poor guy. read more

But I just happened upon a hand-written letter that Dr. Boyd sent me a few months ago, thanking me for my business, and felt compelled to add to the praise. Dr. Boyd's Healthy Chelsea Dental checks a lot of the boxes that concern a new patient: * His entire operation - from the staff and the facilities, to the scheduling and other post-visit activities - is a well-oiled machine. You're seen at the time of your appointment. You're treated with respect. Everyone is friendly, and remembers your name. * All hygienists and Dr. Boyd himself are gentle with your mouth, and do not make you feel uncomfortable. * He recognizes, but does not make you feel badly about, ways that you can improve your dental hygiene. (My favorite line about me was, speaking to his hygienist, "He flosses - annually." It's actually a little more often than that - but still.) Dr. Boyd himself is a real mensch, and a refreshingly chiller dentist than I am used to. I have Tourette's Syndrome which can sometimes make dental work a challenge, but he handled himself with such care and professionalism that I would encourage anybody with similar issues to feel safe in Dr. Boyd's care. Big fan of Dr Boyd and the team at Healthy Chelsea Dental. They are so awesome I have already referred two of my coworkers their way. Dental visits can be nerve wracking but Dr Boyd is so friendly and personable, it makes it all OK. Seriously I don't even worry about going to the dentist anymore. So happy to finally write this review! Dr. Boyd is one of the kindest, most genuine man I have ever met. The staff, as well, are all very kind and personable. I went in a few months ago in order to discuss veneers. Stanley was always very straightforward but at the same time very thoughtful. I could tell from the start he was looking for my best interest. We started the process almost immediately with impressions, followed by an appointment for bleaching. I was amazed by how white my teeth were. Next I came in for my temporary veneers. While there were a few bumps in the road between my temporaries and my permanents, I never once was angry at Dr. Boyd because I knew he was doing the best and had my best interest in mind at every point in this process. Now, I have all my permanents in. Prior to this I never smiled with my mouth open as I was too self conscious due to my teeth. Stanley changed my life and I will never trust another dentist with my teeth! read more

The staff at Chelsea Smiles is amazing. They take great care of you, are very attentive and kind. The ladies at the front desk are the best I've encountered anywhere. They never seem to make a mistake, are always trying to accommodate your needs, and are friendly and kind. Hector who cleans your teeth is great at his job, and also a really wonderful guy. The dentists are incredible, especially Dr. Boyd who always makes me laugh as he's elbow deep in my mouth. He did my porcelain veneers and I'm thrilled with them over 5 years later. Seriously, I can't recommend this place enough. I actually look forward to my dentist appointments because of the incredible staff. Not to mention the beautiful, clean office and short wait times. Best Dentist I've ever had. Both Stan and Hector are extremely capable, thorough and caring. I've been going to them for over 5 years and keep coming even though I've moved out of NYC. Their offices are always impeccably clean and it shows that they care about the details. They're usually on time but I've had to wait 10-15 minutes on occasion. I always find it hard to pick a good dentist when I move. Then add in moving to NYC. On my second try I luckily found Healthy Chelsea Dental! My teeth and I are now in good hands. Dr. Boyd is so personable and he and his team really care about the health of your teeth from general cleaning to getting me in immediately when I had a big chunk of a tooth break off. The office is very clean. The exams are very thorough and allow for a very proactive discussion about protecting your teeth which has been very helpful. I just left having such a great experience for my first cleaning at Chelsea Dental. It started when I walked in and met Clara, who was so nice and friendly. After I signed the forms electronically, there was no wait, and the hygienist, Hector, was ready to see me. What a nice guy. Not only that, I have to say it was by far the best cleaning I have gotten yet. While having my cleaning, there is online access, so I was able to read up on news, or I could have watched a movie. After my cleaning, Dr. Boyd came in and gave me a check up. What a warm and nice guy. In addition, it was clear that he feels very comfortable and confident with what he does.
