Dr. Sato's office is conveniently located in the Vision Center of the Kunia Walmart. What I mean by "conveniently located" is that it is located in Walmart... not that it's in Kunia, as I reside in Kaimuki. Having the Doctor's office in Walmart means ample parking. This also gives my bf something to do while he's waiting for me (peruse around Walmart). I've been going to Dr. Sato since ever since.. In other words, he has been my eye Doc from the get-go, from when my vision went blurry in my early elementary days. (Yeah, I have horrible vision... Thanks Mom and Dad.) Comparatively, I had been referred to some kind of specialist when I was younger... That specialist guy was horrible and I had an extremely traumatic experience. The specialist made me do that stupid follow-the-dot test for like 20 minutes. I wanted to die. My appreciation for Dr. Sato grew immensely. Dr. Sato is super good at what he does. He always gets me the right contacts that work with my eyes. And he's also super funny and down-to-Earth. I dread the day of his retirement. read more

And the pricing Ridiculous even at the other Walmarts, $50.00 to $100 aviator style prescription frames, final cost over $150 to $400. This office is located inside the Kunia Wal-Mart. My last visit to the Len's Crafter optometrist left me looking for a better doctor. I have no clue why I was going to Lens Crafters for contacts =( It was ridiculous I had to wait two weeks and pay an obscene amount of money for a contact fitting. Also, when the boxes of contacts were delievered from Len's Crafters, the box of contacts WAL-MART on it!!!! LOL they ordered it from WALMART!! So I was determined to cut that extra link and go directly to the source of contacts. Here there is no price for a contact fitting, the only thing I had to pay for was the eye exam itself. Dr. Sato was very knowledgable and he was not rushing my appt. (unlike Len's Crafters) he was taking his time double checking if my eyes were good. I am so happy to have found this doctor, he is close to where I live and the fact that I can buy my contacts right outside the office door at the vision center!!!! Also, they have the colored contacts in stock!!!!! I almost cried hahaha I never again have to wait 2 measly weeks to get my contacts in. I would give 4 stars because although my appt. was at 9:30am I saw the doctor around 10:15am so be sure to wait. But that is my only gripe nothing to take a star off for =]]]]] This place is awesome for contact wearers, but for the glasses high class people hahayou should still head over to Lens Crafters because they have the "Brand Name" frames and they fix it for you there. I used to go to a different eye doctor on Oahu and I had to wait for an hour just to get seen, even with an appointment. That would just ruin my whole day! When I started seeing the optometrists at Walmart Kunia, I never looked back. The front desk ladies are really nice and polite. I and my son saw the new doctor today Dr. Deboise, and she was as good as the rest of the team. She was very attentive to my needs and answered all my questions and she was very nice and pleasant. I've been going to get my eyes checked with Dr Sato for as long as I can remember! Way over a decade. He's super down to earth, very attentive and puts your needs first. He's always a phone call or text away whenever I have eye issues and always willing to go above and beyond to fix the issue or make things better. I've had major eye issues in my past, even with symptoms I never knew existed and he was very educated and proactive about all of them and never made me panic. Love all the freebies as well! As Rocelle S. says, Dr. sato's office is located in the Kunia wal-marts' vision center. My parents have been coming here and I personally started coming here ever since I needed to get some glasses when I was in elementary. Dr. Sato is very nice and looks for the best in his patients. This place is also very convenient because its just down the street from my neighborhood so definitely cant beat that. The office is a bit small with only 2 examination rooms and a few chairs along the walls in the waiting "area" haha. read more

Dr. Stanley Sato has been my family's eye doctor ever since Wal-Mart Royal Kunia opened its doors in 1993 or so. He is a very friendly person...He is very professional...but he is also very personable...he's your eyes' best friend. He's very popular with the military families...but he also caters to the locals...he, himself, being a very down to earth local boy. I always love hearing about his fishing trips...even if I don't know anything about fish, except that grilled Talapia is my favorite, next to fish sour soups, and don't forget the local favorites of poke & sashimi. And he never talks only about himself and his life adventures...he loves to catch up on the lives of his patients. This review is long overdue. He is the best and I had a friend who drove from Waimanalo to be examined and treated by Dr. Sato. Try the rest and find out why he is head and shoulders above them all. There are very few good doctors sad to say in this state. Because of him, my wife found out she had a retina problem which was taken care of by another great doctor but that's another review. What is generally considered beyond the call these days, Stan considers normal, ethical, "pono", morally correct care. He is thorough, leaves no stones unturned, calls you at home if there's a concern, recommends treatment, follow up, referral as needed and encourages shared decisions. He has always gotten our (daughter's and my) prescriptions right, first try, he has found pathology others may have ignored. My visual health is safe with him. read more
