We have used Stanley Steemer for years.... This time we had all the carpets cleaned and tile and grout cleaned in the dining room and the kitchen. All came out great, except they missed a spot in the kitchen. Just as you walked into the kitchen, a few tiles are still dirty and it makes it look like something is spilled on the floor. All the rest looks great, and we didn't notice this until everything had dried. read more

Very pleased with the work of Nick and Izay who here this morning for cleaning a house full of wall-to-wall carpet plus a large upholstered chair. I also asked about tile and grout cleaning in the entry hall and they showed me the difference that cleaning and sealing could make. I had a home to sell after moving to another location. My vacant house needed to be fixed, painted and cleaned. I had gotten through the first two steps and had cleaned all but the carpets. My realtor suggested Stanley Steemer because he had had good experiences in the past. I called and scheduled an appointment and they gave me a 3 hour window. I stressed to the scheduler that the house was vacant and I had moved 25 miles away. The scheduler said that they could probably put me first or second for the time period so that I wouldn't have to wait very long. I arrived right on time, but had forgotten that there was nowhere to sit except the steps. Needless to say, I hoped that they would show up quickly so that I didn't end up spending more than half the day on this. Well, as luck would have it, they showed up 2 hours and 45 minutes later. I was so relieved, I just hoped they would be thorough and do a good job. This was not to be. The whole time they were getting ready, they were trying to up sell me on doing the grout on the tile floors too. Once they finally understood that it was only carpet that I wanted they zipped through the job in nothing flat. Four bedrooms, a hallway, and steps were completed in less than 25 minutes and the carpet didn't look all that different. I would never use these guys ever again. I used an online coupon to reduce the charges by $35 dollars and I still paid too much. What a waste of money. If I have to redo the carpets, I'm going elsewhere. read more

Absolute rip off. 2 guys came to the house and basically did nothing but get the carpet wet. The furniture hadn't been moved at all to clean under it. The main reason we had then come was to clean the steps where our little dog likes to pee. They did nothing but get it wet which made the smell come back worse. A few days later we checked the carpets with a black light and it looked just as bad as before. What a waste of almost two hundred bucks. read more

unfortunately something has changed with stanley steamer :( i've been using them for eons and always professional, great cleaning & staff. normally, i'm not at the house when cleaning is done. however, yesterday was NOT good. call came in telling me someone is coming over, i specifically mentioned door was unlocked as i was on my way home. gave them instructions on areas to pay attention too. staff that showed up had NO idea what those instructions where and called me looking for the key. luckily, i got home & explained everything. when i called to have someone come back to close the back patio screen door (it was propped open so hard, i couldn't budge it), the 800# had no idea who i was! finally they found my record & said i had 2 records!!! i called them again because there are yellow spots on my hallway carpet that were not there. i then asked the rep what has changed in their procedures as something is definitely lacking. they said more & more of their locations are going towards the 800# national # to service their calls. well, better do better at communicating because i'm not going w/them after my contract runs out. obviously to save $$$ & i understand that but they need to get a handle on making sure their information is up to date & not put me on hold for 15 minutes while they look it up confused. read more

I called the 1-800 number and the customer service agent was very helpful. She told me that the estimate was for less than $400 and was surprised that the onsite techs collected over $1,000. Justin, the Branch Manager was unavailable, but I left a message for a call today before 3:00 because I was away from the phone at the doctor yesterday. After I left for the doctor, Justin called. My granddaughter told him that I was away and to call back today. It is 2:45 and I haven't heard from him. I called the 1-800 number again and the customer service agent sent me to Justin's voice mail again. I left a new message, but I have to leave very soon. In it I said I wanted a refund for the $539.95 that was never quoted or refunded. I guess my next action is to contact the BBB. read more

The two man crew showed up on time and the quote I was given was accurate. Overall, I am very pleased with the results and the carpets look great. My only complaints are that they did not move a single piece of furniture, even light items, and they spent as much time trying to upsell their other services than they did on the carpet cleaning itself. They were in and out in 30 minutes, cleaning three rooms plus a closet. I would probably use them again but will have to follow them from room to room, making sure they don't do a rush job. read more

I am extremely disappointed. I contacted Stanley Steemer - Phoenix, AZ 2440 E Germann Road, Suite B-1 1-800-STEEMER / (800) 783-3637 online regarding cleaning my 2600 sqft of hardwood floor on August 24, 2017 online. I scheduled the appointment for 8-9am on September 11, 2017. Nearly 2.5 weeks ago.... The quote that was given was $383.00 (after a $40 coupon). I made sure that we had EVERYTHING out of the house so the floors could be cleaned the day prior to my buyers' final walkthru. Stanley Steemer shows up right on time and proceeds to state that due the fact that floor cleaners have been used on the floor, it will now cost $1500 to strip, clean and refinish the floors. What?? This is not what I had planned... I wanted the floors cleaned, not refinished. I was blown away! Who doesn't clean their floors? If this is really something that happens, why wouldn't Stanley Steemer ask more questions when scheduling online or maybe call the client directly to ask questions directly instead of making me wait 2.5 weeks to find out that it was nothing more than a scam to get in my house then jack the price way up? Now, it is the day before my buyers are to walk thru the house, and I'm up a creek without a paddle. BAD BUSINESS!! read more

Stanley Steemer ruined my carpets and will take no responsibility for it. I have several pets and had numerous pet stains. If they could not handle the job they should not have taken it. My carpets stayed Wet for four days and looked and smelled 10x worst after they left. I have bleach marks all over my light green carpets and the pet stains much darker. I am now in a position (on Soc.Security) income of having to replace my carpets. They charged $550. For this fiasco. They finally agreed to refund my own $550 service call which in reality is not giving me anything but my own money back. Beware of their slick commercials - they do a terrible job, overpriced and if they ruin your carpets, floors, tiles, they will not offer to compensate you for it when it was their fault! I am shocked that a National Company can conduct their business this way. read more

It's Bait and Switch. Thinking we could use them due to the special offer, the bill was $171.00 over the written estimate we received!!! When asked, they responded that cleaning 3 area rugs (which we have) of a smaller square foot area is more expensive than cleaning 3 rooms with wall-to-wall carpeting of greater square foot area. I just had all the carpets in my house cleaned with Stanley Steemer. They were very fast and the carpets came out looking very clean and fresh. I have a two story house all carpet, so I was very impressed with the speed of service and the friendliness of the two gentlemen who cleaned. This was the first time I've used Stanley Steemer, and I'll use them again. We had them clean our bedroom carpets and steam-clean and seal our grout on our tile floors. First, we got a call that the crew was on their way and on time, and then when they arrived, they inspected what we needed cleaned, figured out the price and went to work. Albert and Michael were a courteous and hard working crew. We were amazed at how much brighter our tile looked after the cleaning and grout work. Eddie and Carlos arrived 1/2 hour of the arrival window. They were professional in their attire, their demeanor and their work ethic. We could not be more pleased. Eddie demonstrated what cleaning and coloring of my bath tile grout could do - and I splurged to have the tile done. I could not be happier with the results of the carpet and tile work. When I called, Capri was my contact person - she was professional and provided all the information I needed and scheduled my service for the next day. Rec'd a call 1/2 hour prior to the techs arriving. My only negative would be the 'area' size - I have a living/dining room combo that is less in sq. ft. than the family room and the combo area was considered 'two rooms' - actually, depending on furniture placement is could easily be considered 'one room'. Nevertheless, it was still a good bargain. Would definitely recommend this company and will use them again. read more

Normally we use them when they have their clean 3 rooms for $99 special but our carpets were feeling extra gross since we've adopted 2 labs. I scheduled my appointment online; no hassles. They gave me a window from 9-12 and showed up around 10 am. I scheduled my day and worked from home to accommodate this. If you have stuff to do and stress about service companies and their windows, then consider scheduling when you have time to be at home. I was called when the techs were on their way. The part that one me over more was our dog had gotten sick the night before and had exploded with diarrhea- on our carpet. Of course. We were up at 4 am cleaning poop and then she vomited. Later on this morning I couldn't figure out why the house still smelled like poop. I discovered more diarrhea in our entry way area. Like you could build another lab out of the amount of poop that was there. Thankfully the techs arrived not too much longer after I discovered the poop and asked them if they would clean that area- I would gladly pay extra. They were great about doing it; great attitudes and I was very thankful. Thanks Austin and partner- my house smells great; you can't even tell where she pooped on the carpet anymore; and I'm a forever Stanley Steemer fan. read more

As well, my technicians were on time and did a thorough job, often times putting extra effort into some more stubborn stains. I am not sure what technicians the other people that wrote bad reviews had, but our tech's were fabulous, they did give us a window of 9Am-12 and were here at 9:15, did the area (Very expensive) rug in LR as our dog had an accident, then did our Media Room as it was time, both were done in a timely manner, they DID remove the furniture and we added the odor eleminator as well. They were very curtious and kind and did there job well.. We did take a look at a black light where dog had accident and there was NO trace of any accident. When they were here we also had them do another area rug, and it was done in perfect manner as well.. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I would def. use them again. We are trying to sell our home, so it was very important to get all pet odor out of home, there is nothing worse than walking into a potiental home and having to smell dog or cat, I walk out immediatly as a NO and move on... So again very happy and our guys were fabulous!!!! read more

Never again. Used them many years ago and thought I would this time. Mistake. Dark spots where there wasn't when they started. You would think that a couple days after they would contact you for followup to see how the wet carpet dried for spots or needing an additional cleaning. So much for "name brand". read more

We just took possession of our rental property after 5 years and needless to say the tile was trashed. The renter enjoys cats as pets. S.S. came out and determined what service I needed. We needed the grout reworked as well as the tile cleaned. They completed the service as described with the desired results. I put the house on the market the next week and it sold in 1 day. I had to explain to clients that it was not new tile but tile cleaned by SS. read more

This was my first time using Stanley Steemer. I recently moved into new home this week. When I spoke with the SS representative I was not told about a 3hr service window; my appointment was scheduled for 10am; received message my appointment would be at 9am. The day of service no one called to say they were running late---technicians showed up approximately 12:30pm. I was not satisfied with the work let alone customer service representative---upon closer review I realized there were areas missed and carpet looked and smelled like it did when I moved in. Clearly the job had been rushed. Furthermore, when I was providing information for payment-service representative not once asked if I was happy with the work; only concerned about their payment. Needless to say I am left to look for someone else to professionally clean the carpet that Stanley Steemer claimed they could do. Bad experience, Poor customer relations, Shabby work. we have heard the name Stanley steemer so we thought we would give them a try. they said they would call a half hour before they come over and they didn't they just showed up. they said it would take about a hour they were done with 3 bedrooms a hall way, stairs and living room in 45 mins. I was impressed until I started walking around and the floor was very very wet. It took all day with celing fans running as well as electric fans running as well as ac almost 10 hours and still was not completely dry. I was looking around and found things all over the floor that they could not have done like they say they did. I will never call them again I have used rug doctors before and not had carpet this wet when I was done. don't waste your money with this company they slam bam and take your money and run. read more

Stanley Steemer cleaned my tile and grout yesterday. They did a nice job with cleaning of the grout, however I was disappointed that they continually walked through my home over areas that had recently been cleaned with shoes that had been worn outside. I explained that I do not wear shoes inside my home. In addition, they consistently tried to "up-sale" me throughout the whole process, from the moment they arrived to the time the door closed on their departure. I was worn out from saying no. I also had an area rug cleaned and after cleaning they put it in the parking lot of my condo complex while they cleaned the tile flooring. I let a service agent know my complaints. They sent the same cleaning crew back to my home today. They asked where the footprints were, gave me excuses and did not support my complaint. They went quickly over my flooring again with a spray and "swiffer" type mop. Overall my experience was not positive and I do not expect to use this company in the future. The grout looks good, but I still do not feel they should be walking over cleaned areas of my home or putting a clean rug in the parking lot. read more

I have been a loyal Stanley Steamer customer for about 10 years and we have always been satisfied. However, after this last carpet cleaning, my husband and I are considering ending our contract. We always have 4 rooms cleaned and one of the rooms did not dry within the time frame. The other rooms dried ok. The area seemed more soaked than usual. We then started smelling mildew from that area. We called Stanley Steamer and they sent 2 guys out, again having to wait within the 12-6 window, They sprayed some chemical over the carpet to get rid of the odor and said to call back if this didn't work. We continued to have the mildew odor for a couple more days and called back and they sent some "experts", again waiting within the 12-6 window. They injected the carpet with some chemical and suggested if this didn't work they would have to tear up the carpet and look at the padding. Both times the guys suggested that it was not the fault of the carpet cleaning but that we had had a flooding of water or dog urine. Neither was the case. Well the injection didn't work. We continued to have the mildew smell. They finally did send the carpet guys and they had to tear up the carpet and replace the padding and they confirmed that it was not dog urine nor was there a flood. Again, having to wait for the carpet guys within the 12-6 window. read more
