I had the pistachio glazed, toffee cake, and Biscoff pocket. All were tasty, but I've had better donuts. I'm not a fan of the price either.

Want to spend 3.50$ on the best doughnut you've ever had? Try the Peanut Butter Pocket. It is on the pricey side, but geewhizz it's good.

If I had to choose this place is better than glazed and infused. Don't be intimidated by the long line , the staff is pretty fast and the line is quick. They have a better variety of donuts. Plus they stay open unlike glaze in which it seems they bake one big batch and of you're lucky they might have a product during brunch hours. Really clean and big inside, there were hooks on the tables (so convenient), and outlets so you can quickly recharge your phone! We got the lemon pistachio donut and it was incredible. Clearly it was fried a lot because the donut was so firm and not fluffy at all but it was amazing. Great location because there are so many other restaurants and stores nearby! read more

The coconut is incredibly moist and perfect coconut flavor. The peanutbutter pocket is better than any peanutbutter sandwich known to humankind. Surprised at the $6 charge for two donuts, but they are possibly the best donuts I have ever had. read more

I don't even like donuts, but my husband and I happened past this place after getting off at the Damen Blue Line Stop on our way to another place. The selection here was good, and it looked like they had plenty to go around, even at 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. (Some donut/pastry shops sell out by late morning.) My husband got a blueberry filled donut and a nutella donut and claimed that the nutella donut was the best donut he has ever eaten, and this is coming from a guy from Europe. I was also pleasantly surprised that they had gluten-free donuts available and a little seating area. On their menu, they even had teas and coffees. I ordered the beignets and have to say they were delicious. The price is $2.50/per donut which is a bit steep for everyday, I think, but I would definitely stop in again if I'm over this way. read more

Amazing donuts! I've tried firecakes and glazed and infused and this was definitely one of the better expierences I had with chicago donuts. I got the Nutella and banana pocket and WOW! Definitely better than my glazed and infused donut (I tried then side by side). If you're a fan of donuts do yourself a favor and give this place a try. We came here on Sunday the 12th and bought 5 donuts and bought 2 Orange Glazed Old Fashioned- 1 glazed pretzel twist donut-1 Biscoff Banana Pocket w/ Chocolate icing & 1- Cinnamon Sugar Cake. They are so, so moist even after stilling in a bag till Wed 4-15-15. Then I returned by myself today 4-17-15 to pickup a hold at a store. I just couldn't get on the bus no.50 to go home without hitting my newest donut store. I only bought 2 this time I bought a Buttermilk Bar sorta like a Long John with nothing inside. 1 Toffee Cake w/pecans donut. The clerk said they make there toffee here everyday. I was on my way to Glazed and Infused and since they disappointed me last time I went there, I decided to cross the street to their competition. Boy am I glad, because their chocolate-nutella-banana is addicting as well as their simply glazed doughnut. Saw a guy drinking a cup of cappuccino, it looked excellently frothed so I would try it. I've yet to visit this place earlier than 7pm, but even coming in the evening time there's still a good variety and they are still fairly fresh. Haven't tried one I didn't like. I wasn't a fan of cake donuts in the past but I realized it was because all I had ever tried before were dunkin ones (what was I doing??!). Moist, flavorful with a nice glaze...call me converted, but I still love a good yeast donut. There's a decent amount of seating and I hear the coffee's pretty good too, though I've never tried it. Parking can be difficult however there's an L stop literally right on top of them. It's a friendly, retro spot with quality goods. Highly recommend checking them out. read more

I've made many doughnuts in Australia but never as amazing as the doughnuts at Stan's. A Bismarck that almost weighs a half pound... Come on!!! Cap'n Crunch flavored custard, a billion pistachios on the pistachio glazed, chocolate chocolate, and everything else in between. Simply amazing! They have some creative donut concoctions, and every single one I've tried have been absolutely delicious so far, with the favorite being the toffee cake. The store itself is really whimsical/cute, and they usually have several employees working behind the counter, which means quick service. The donuts are pricey compared to other chain shops like Dunkin', etc., but they are huge - and definitely taste fresh. Completely worth the price. Stan is the man, omg the best donuts I have had in my life so far. I got us the peanut butter, banana chocolate glazed, the chocolate cake and the apple fritter. Yumminess, freshness, not too sweet I have to say very well balanced in all of these aspects of a donut. My fav so far is the peanut butter banana chocolate glazed. LOVE LOVE Stan's donuts! I consider myself a donut aficionado and this place takes the cake! The donuts are always fresh, and I haven't yet tried one I don't like. My favorite? the Banana Biscoff. Their coffee is fresh and strong, too, making this the perfect breakfast/dessert destination. I want to live in Stan's. I want to cuddle with the mixers on the wall. I want to install a shower in the men's and women's bathroom(then I can have overnight guests). I always get a glazed, which is basically like a pillow of dough with a perfect glaze. The dough has a good amount of salt, too. That makes it really balanced. Buttermilk bar is nice. The edges are crisp and the inside is soft and tender. Glaze is just right. I had a friend from San Fransisco come into town. She told me Glazed and Infused was her favorite. There are a few great things about Stan's donuts. First are the donuts, like the nutella banana and peanut butter banana pockets, are diabetes inducing. Second, it's right down the road from Jeni's ice cream. So after a donut, you can get a cone of black cat espresso ice cream. DONUTS!! We. Love. Donuts. My boyfriend loves donuts and I grew to love them too...and it's such a bad thing to love...it's deep fried and covered in sugar!! From reading the other reviews I obviously need to stop going there on Saturday evenings and instead go in the morning. The selection was dismal the two times I went. I ordered the banana biscoff twice but the pastry only had banana in it once. And the one that actually had banana had maybe three slices of banana. Mhmmm tasty doughnuts! This place really reminded me of a place that I used to go to when I was in high school. I absolutely loved that they have a bunch of different varieties of doughnuts for everyone. There's fun flavors like maple bacon pecan but they have your traditional things like apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, even your old fashioned, glazed and sugared doughnuts. Everyone working behind the counter was sweet and great at giving recommendations when asked. I ended up buying 4 different doughnuts to try because they all looked so delicious!!! This is not anything at all like over-processed and mass produced Dunkin Donuts - so if you're expecting that garbage then do not stop by. But if you have a hankering for tasty, fresh and flavorful doughnuts - then this is definitely your place!! read more

This is a must do. There are so many donut options that are made fresh and look delicious. I'm gluten free and don't remember liking donuts even when I ate gluten - that said I went here every day of my trip and got a chocolate covered gluten free donut and it was delicious. This Donut shop is starting to pop-up everywhere in the city, but this location is one of the originals. We had a chocolate donut and one with bacon. Needless to say they were delicious...but I need to keep away from this place if I want to get that summer body...lol...This location is a little far from me so I am not upset about the closer locations being opened near the magnificent mile. read more

Here's the deal. These are really good and they have a few that nobody else makes. They are not cheap but worth it. They are not light donuts. Probably pretty high in calorie as they are rich in flavor. At the end of the day , they are donuts. Not veggies. Always fresh as I'm writing this after my 4th visit. The donuts are a good size! One is very filling, practically a meal! The customer service was good and although the line was long it moved fast. It's very easy going overboard and quickly spending more than intended. I got two specialty donuts and spent over $8 with no coffee. But these donuts were delish! read more
