Biscoff Pocket in the background was delicious. Buttercream Bismark front left and Vanilla Glazed Cruller the other 3 in front.

Third stop downtown on the Chicago donut tour. I've been to Stans a couple of times and they do alright. Here are my thoughts: 1: They have some creative specialty donuts. 2. Not my go to for a solid glazed donut. 3. The biscotti pocket was huge and tasted great. 4. The vanilla glazed cruller was okay, but not a fan of crullers in general as well as the buttercream bismark. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of space on the inside to sit and enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also offer a selection of food, drinks, snacks, and gelato.

This place has it all! Donuts, WiFi, bathrooms, coffee, oh my! Why do you need to go to the 'bucks! Maybe power? Tho I wasn't looking for outlets. I was too busy licking the crème from the awesome donut. Or if you want a healthy option, they have peanut butter doughnuts too! Wait... is it doughnuts or donuts? Thanks Siri. You create more questions than you have answers for them! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I almost forgot! They have more seating than that coffee shop across the street.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check 'em out! Solid A

Ordered via DoorDash pickup here on a Saturday morning. Located 2 blocks from our hotel, it was an easy walk. So to speak. Ordered a 6 pack - blueberry, lemon-pistachio, carrot cake, red velvet, birthday cake, and buttercream filled. All the donuts were great - blueberry and cream filled my two favorites. But above that, upon pickup, the guy working Saturday morning was very friendly. Appreciated it.

We came to Stan's twice during our short weekend in magnificent mile. The donuts were amazing. We had coffee, and the following donuts: the Boston crème, apple fritter, buttercream Bismark, and an old fashion. I recommend this cute spot if you're ever passing through!

It seems difficult to believe that Stan's Donuts & Coffee debuted in Chicago over a decade ago, but now with myriad locations spanning from Millennium Park to Oak Brook the brand from Westwood Village is seemingly trying to compete with Dunkin for Windy City Breakfast business. Already having visited the 181 North Michigan Avenue flagship, that at 535 far smaller as an addition to Labriola on the Grand Avenue overpass, guests can still expect to find a full array of sweets like faultless Carrot Cake alongside odd new additions like Quesadillas and Frappes. Certainly not the cheapest of Donut Shops, "Standards" beginning at $1.95 and choices topping out with Stan's spin on Ansel's Cronut, "Mini" versions of Cake Rings prove comparable to the full-size versions while the Fritter and Cruller each seemed a bit more oily than prior.

There are quite a few Stan's in the area, but this one was quiet, quick service and with some seating if one wanted to stay in. We started off with a responsible breakfast with the pretzel sandwich with egg, which made for a tasty and filling breakfast. Then onto dessert breakfast! The toffee cake donut was sweet and crunchy. The buttercream bismark was filled with creamy goodness. They had a large array of donuts, so there is something for every sweet tooth. I love the vintage feel of the Stan's branding. Luckily when we went it wasn't busy, but there was only one staff person preparing everything. Be careful indulging too much, but the donuts are delicious and unique.

There are multiple locations of Stan's donuts throughout the downtown area, I don't suggest going to this one...especially during peak morning hours. This Stan's is attached to an Italian restaurant which causes this place to be super small and compact. Barely any seating so it's more of a grab n go kinda spot. One star for having cute St Patrick's day donuts. One star for the relatively friendly male cashier. Go to a different location if you want somewhere to sit and enjoy your food and drinks.

First time I've tired Stan's donuts in Chicago and I must say that it's a must try! The dough that they use to make the donut is almost flaky and croissant like. I usually don't like stuffed donuts but this was amazing. The donut was stuffed perfectly all around. I got to try the biscoff cookie filled donut and it was basically biscoff cookie paste in a donut! I also tried the Nutella filled donut and it's like the description says def filled with lots of Nutella! I will say the donuts are a bit sweet but pair perfectly with their coffee. Their cold brew/coffee has no sour after taste which I love,

I love Stan's Donuts when I visited Chicago last time. I obviously didnt get a chance to have all their donut options but I did try their PB&J and their Chocolate flavor ones and I enjoy them very much. The donuts are heavy and dense so i had to eat it over several settings and i think they are great for sharing. Would definitely return to try other flavors!

    Donuts... they are amazing!

Yes, yes and more yes!! These donuts are worth every single calorie! When you are sick of Starbucks and want to try something new and fresh this is your place. We also tried the breakfast sandwich which was also delicious . When I'm in Chicago sorry Starbucks we are officially broken up!

I've been to multiple stands donut locations around the city, and this one is always my favorite. Something about it is just so cute and charming. Definitely much quieter than the one on MI Ave in the loop or the one closer to Gold Coast or even the one in Streeterville. Came here on Christmas Eve to get our Christmas donuts and the guy working was so patient and kind as we picked our donuts. I was very happy. They were fully stocked with my favorites, the buttercream Bismarck, and the Biscoff pocket. Stopped in today on a whim was really craving bacon and asked if they sold it just bacon by itself . Shout out to the young girl who was so kind and said that she would make it happen for me. The bacon came out piping hot & was delicious!!! I ran out before I could buy any donuts, a first for me!

I'm a sucker for a good donut and I'd read that Stan's was the place to get one in Chicago. They have a great assortment of donuts and I chose one of my favorites: a Boston cream. I also got a side of hash browns because I love having something salty with something sweet. Both were great and I'd love to come back on a future Chicago trip.

Look, milkshakes come topped with a mini donut!

Best donuts in Chi-town dare I say, others have voted the same (Thrillist and in Chicago's Best lists). The made from scratch donut variety here is amazing. Traditional glazed, strawberry, and apple fritters are on display but they also have specialty donuts -- like the pretzel donut, dough boys best, peanut butter pocket and a fantastic cherry topped cherry cream filling. I was on the longest sugar high after visiting. The roasted coffee was also a stand out. So many flavors to choose from, it was hard to choose just one! Even my kids needed a moment. I've never seen them so strategic in trying to order. We opted for the PB&J donut, the cherry topped glazed cherry cream donut and the red velvet donut. The size of these donuts do not disappoint, totally shareable. The thickness alone makes this donut shop a standout place. Wish we could've sat down for a meal as well. There were traditional bacon, egg and cheese Sammie's as well as grilled cheese Sammie's. This location shared the space of a neighboring Italian restaurant so seating was limited to about a few tables. But if you're patient, it is a short wait. Complimentary water available on the counter for those who need a refresher. We loved our first visit so much, we just had to stop in one more time before heading for the airport. Strawberry was the choice. So good, it's a Classic. Stan's is a must try in Chicago! Several locations around the Loop, so pick one!

I like to get to know the vibe of the city where I'm visiting. I was immediately impressed by the semi industrial look of this particular location. I have since found out that the locations have their own unique decor, from what I was told. I heard that they bake their own pastries and roasted their own coffee beans. So that was neat and I tried both. I had a chocolate croissant, which was absolutely delicious. For my drink I ordered the spicy mocha, which is like a Mexican mocha with a little bit of extra spice added. It was very good. However, I ordered it hot and received lukewarm coffee. This is the second time I've gone to a coffee shop and the coffee wasn't piping hot. I don't know what this trend is. But anyway, the coffee tasted great, otherwise. The location was fairly busy for a Friday mid morning. Several people were in there with their laptops, working away. Oh, I must mention the music. Pulled up just before 6:30 AM on a weekday and there were just a few folks ahead of us in line, but service is quick. Cake donuts were actually pretty solid here; the Blueberry Cake Donut was the best item, super soft and moist with a good amount of berries throughout. The Pistachio Cake Donut for some reason was texturally firmer and drier than the other. Unfortunately, the fried donuts were all misses. The dough was just really dense and none of the toppings really hit. The Glazed Donut just made me sad that the dough was bad and the bacon on the Maple Bacon Donut wasn't crispy, so you got a cold, chewy, greasy bite that wasn't super pleasant. The chopped dough pieces in the Apple Fritter were also oddly firm instead of soft. For a place with rave reviews, I was pretty bummed by the donuts, but maybe the fried chicken sandwich is where it's at.

I also tried their chili crisp egg bowl on the day I left Chicago, which did store and travel well all the way to the airport where I had it about 1-1.5 hours later -- it was very tasty, and not too spicy (but had a strong kick!). Typical bruschetta you see has tomato, which was what I was hoping for when I ordered it, but there were no tomatoes at all. And the gnocchi dish... don't even get me started. The texture made me think I was eating raw dough from my baking sessions. It looked promising when the dish first came out, but the mozzarella cheese on top was chewier than the gnocchi itself. The gnocchi would just become a strange mash when poked with by my fork. The gnocchi was overcooked which resulted in a mushy paste when it should have been pillowy and have a slight resistance when bitten into. First, I explored the endless snack aisles and selected a bag of chocolate-hazelnut biscuits to take home. I couldn't resist the gelato and tried the pistachio flavor (yum!) On my next visit to Eataly a couple of days later, I ordered a cappuccino, and while my beverage took a long time to prepare, the espresso tasted very high quality. The pastries looked stunning and decadent, and I imagine they'd pair wonderfully with espresso if you have time to linger at the cafe (I was in a hurry to get to a work meeting). The next day, my team and I visited Eataly's restaurant for lunch. I selected the anchovy toast as my starter and the gnocchi for my main as part of the lunch special. The toast consisted of two slices of sourdough bread topped with creamy lemon spread and anchovies. The contrast of the bright lemon flavor with the ultra-salty anchovies was tempered by the creamy butter - these all paired together quite well. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The gnocchi was much too soft (it had the texture of mashed potatoes), and the red sauce was bland. All in all, visiting Eataly was a cool way to experience gourmet Italian food.
