We were forced to evacuate to Ukiah because of the Santa Rosa fires. We are staying in a hotel in the area and needed some comfort food since learning our house is no longer there due to the fires. Every single thing we got was amazing. We had breakfast and got three different things from the menu. 1. Breakfast Quesadilla This meal was delicious. It came with eggs, bacon, country potatoes, green onion, jack and cheddar cheese on a flour tortilla. It also came with a side of red or green sauce. They didn't have the green sauce, but the red was way bomb! The quesadilla was HUGE, I couldn't even finish it. The prices aren't that cheap, but for what you get it's defintely worth it. 2. Biscuit Combo Another delicious find. Comes with 2 biscuits with a good amount of gravy on top. It also has 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon or sausage and country potatoes or hashbrowns. I would suggest the hashbrowns because they are perfectly cooked. Our group had two of these plates and both left with empty plates and full stomachs. 3. Italian Omlette Special Great price for a great meal. They only charge 7.50 for this special and it comes with country potatoes or hashbrowns and the Italian Omlette. Smaller portion than the others, but still a good amount of food. Overall, a great place for breakfast, we will probably be back since we are here until Monday. read more

Awesome breakfast and great service! I finally made it to the Maple Cafe for breakfast with my daughter. The food exceeded my expectations for a small town cafe - it was awesome. I particularly liked the little touches like the fresh organic apple cider, served chilled with breakfast. Nice! The service was also excellent. At some point, all of the servers were at our table. They were all super nice and on top of everything. The Maple Cafe isn't fancy or pretentious. But they're really good at what they do: breakfast and lunch. This was a nice find for us. Driving to Napa, heading south, we decided to stop for a quick bite. Overall it was pleasant and reminded me of the many diners found in the northeast. The service was great and the experience was what we expected, good comfort food with ok coffee. Food came out within ten minutes. The eggs were prepared over medium, which is what I asked for, and the Greek salad my partner ordered was excellent. The romaine lettuce was crisp and the chicken was perfect. It was lightly breaded and seasoned nicely, which really complemented the greens. I like the maple, but my last experience there was really disappointing. The last time we went we were seated in a back corner and forgotten about. Almost an hour and a half later we received our food, after having to go and ask the waitress about it, and all of our meals were cold (there was four of us). Life on the road has it's ups and downs. Like rolling the dice on finding a good place to have a decent breakfast to start your day. Upon arrival on a late Friday morning this place was packed! The four of us were quickly acknowledged as soon as we walked in and seated. Our server, though new, had plenty of knowledge and recommendations of the menu. Everything from the coffee to the meal was great. Fast friendly service, clean everything, and easy parking. Would recommend over and over to anyone passing through. The best hometown food with an excellent service staff. When you want comfort food, this is the place. I bring the family here for breakfast often and we are never dissapointed. My son's favorite is the french toast which is paired with their house maple syrup for a delicious gooey mess of wonderful. Pleasantly surprised how this place turned out. Was doing some scenic mountain driving to get out of the house and decided to stop in Ukiah for dinner on the way back to Sonoma. Wanted to go to a Brewery but I was a little early before they opened. Saw people at this place and decided to give them a try. They are offering outdoor seating since the region is allowed to offer it. I had a southwest salad with chicken. I enjoyed my meal and was satisfied. The chicken though definitely stood out. But the Maple does it & it's always a pleasure to remember that. So it was this last weekend with daughter & grandson here, we timed our arrival just right between when the church services were over & the early group left. Got a nice table by the window, coffee quickly in cups & an apple juice for Darren! The dining room is simple, square, with windows on 2 sides. Tables roomy & clean, nice sunlight. It reminds me of an older era hotel diner. The staff is always courteous & friendly. And it's true, you won't get any 'unusual' taste treats here... it's pretty straight forward fare. But done very well & plenty of food. I enjoyed my eggs benedict, Laura's french toast looked great & John's omelet too. They even made Darren's pancake a Mickey Mouse. If you find yourself in Ukiah, you MUST go to Stan's. It honestly may not look like much from the outside but the food and the service more than make up for outward appearances! Boyfriend and I ended up here for brunch when we first pulled into Ukiah. He ordered the Biscuit combo and I ordered the State Street Skillet. Sure, the bill ended up being $30 after tip, but with how much food I got, I honestly thought it was worth it. It's pricier than most diners/cafés, but the quality is worth the extra cash. The Stan's Skillet meal is quite good - a mix of sausage, bacon, ham, seasoned home fries and 2 eggs (I asked for mine to be over easy and served on top and the dish arrived exactly like I wanted). The portion size could have been a bit larger for the price, but it was good and I left full, but not stuffed. A diner in a small town. How surprising. As a matter of fact, nothing's really surprising here. Expect food similar to any other dinner with a little bit of a regional twist (more Mexican-influenced items). I ordered The Maple, which is 2 eggs, 2 sausages (or strips of bacon), and French toasts. I wasn't really keen on their French toast -- they were too soggy by the time I got them, and didn't taste that great, but their eggs were delicious. Any place that uses quality eggs is a good one in my books. The service was pretty decent as well; just as expected in a diner. Before I talk about the food, let me just agree with everyone else who says don't allow yourself to be seated in the "back room." We went on a Sunday morning and the place was PACKED. They sat us in the back room, and I briefly remembered some of the reviews, but we were on a time crunch so we accepted the seating. I ordered the chorizo omelette and hubby opted for the waffle combo. I got the country potatoes which were chunky and well seasoned. The chorizo sausage they use is the thick ring-like sausage instead of the ground meat variety. Still the omelette was just the right size and not overly filling. Hubby's waffle was thick and crispy which he enjoyed. Wait staff was very friendly, and all I'll say about the back room is that you'd better not mind sitting VERY close to other parties because you're sharing a very tight space. Also, service seemed to take a very long time, and I sometimes wondered if we'd been forgotten in this no-man's land, but then the restaurant was very busy, so I'll forgive them a little for that. Would I go again... maybe. I'd have to try it on a non-busy morning and maybe sample some of the other items on the menu.
