I have been a patient of the Brier Creek office since about 2013. I have always had excellent care, the medical staff is professional, thorough and caring. My oral care isn't particularly complicated nor have I had serious issues, so it's focused on cleaning and periodontal care. However. This year; 2026, as many medical offices have done, the business end of the operation has been changed to a corporate billing center. It's a mess. They sent the billing to an insurance carrier we had not used for 2 years. I called this separate billing location about it 3 times; the last time, the nice young woman assured me it was all taken care of but today, after having received another bill (which, along with appointment reminders was sent for some reason to my husband, who is not a patient there but listed as an emergency contact) They sent a request for payment to my husband's phone number, but not to me. I had him send it to me. I followed the link where I was directed to enter my birthdate. Just as it had the previous time, it responded that my birthdate was incorrect. I called the Brier Creek office. Again. Asking the receptionist who answered about my account, I was told that my account shows that we have NO INSURANCE LISTED. WTH. At my last (and I do mean last) appointment, I stood right there and handed the (temp) office person the actual insurance card. I just placed another call to this anonymous bog corporate entity where a bot voice encouraged me to leave a message and they promised ( ! ) to get back to me within 2-3 days. As a dental practice, I've always felt confident in Stansell Dentistry. But the choice of business/ billing services that was chosen to handle the financial end is a mess. I hope that it doesn't ruin her business, because she doesn't deserve that. read more

Stansell Dentistry Falls Of Neuse Rd is the definition of slack.com! Their websites reflects they are open on Fridays, allows you to schedule on Fridays, sends out a confirmation text of that scheduled appointment, and when you show up...doors locked, lights out and no one is there! Calling is a joke as no one answers and it's typically a few days before a return call. Not sure who the dentist is now, but most recent seems like he just graduated and unsure of what to do. I have good dental insurance but had to pay extra if I wanted Novocain for filling repair. Fortunately I called the Brier Creek office and they worked me in for a dental emergency. The location is an inconvenience, but the professionalism and compassion makes it worth it. I've transferred my care there. How could two locations under same umbrella be night and day! Hopefully the office on Falls of Neuse gets revamped. My last visit there it looked and felt like it was getting ready to shut the door. read more

This dentist would not let his parents pick up our son's invisalign trays, would not send them to him in school, so he would constantly have his teeth regress back after he finished his trays and we would have to pay for more dentist visits to redo his tray plan and insteas of taking a couple years, the process has taken maybe twice that. Even worse, they will no longer make trays for him and he had to get something he now has to sleep with in his mouth that they charged us $650, for the rest of his life I guess just to keep them from reverting back because this dentist cared more about their self centered rule instead of their client. This by the way is a constant theme with this dentist. They destroyed both my molar and my wife's tooth also and were very hostile about fixing what they broke. After leaving my wife and I in pain for weeks with no attempt to accommodate our needs but rather avoiding us, I was scheduling an appointment with my this dentist who we had been loyal patients for 15 years, I found out that they had canceled me as a patient. When I asked if they could reestablish me as their patient they said they were not accepting new patients now. But if you look on their social media, they are advertising for new patients. So they make mistakes and then those who fall victim are then kicked out and they pretend that it's about not having had an appointment in a year. They did not close the account of any of my wife or my child by the way who still go to them. Can you believe they would cancel certain family members who had not had their annual checkup? Do not be surprised that if they leave you damaged and then boot you out practically and permanently no matter how patient and polite you are. I have multiple examples that this is how they handle it. read more

We have been here for a few years and ever since we started it was a bad experience. The first appointment I scheduled, they called to reschedule the day of the appointment after already sending a confirmation for the appointment. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because things happen...Well this happened with every appointment after this. The same happened for my Fiancé. Now we laugh when we see them calling because we know they are trying to reschedule. One time I picked up the call and the receptionist said "Well no one else is answering, so I can't move their appointments." So what if I didn't answer??? Would mine still be good to go? It's so unprofessional and we just stopped answering the calls for that reason. Your over-booking is not my problem, especially if it happens more than once. The final straw was when I went to my most recent appointment and the dentist told me one of my fillings failed and I would need to pay for another one. This filling was done 1.5 years ago. Fillings typically last much longer!! And each time I go they tell me my teeth look great, I take good care of them, there is no reason this filling should have fallen out/failed. They also failed to inform me that I was due for an X-Ray at my appointment this past winter. The hygienist confirmed that they should have done it at that appointment. So I will be getting my X-rays and joining another practice. It's also making me second guess them giving me my initial fillings...Did I even actually have those few "minor" cavities? Never any pain or discomfort, so I just feel like they really don't know what they are doing here in all honesty. read more

Unprofessional and insulting. Desk staff & most hygienists are fine and do good work, but not the dentist my wife and I both saw. My wife saw him recently and explained that she has problems with different types of anesthesia (not a fear thing, actual physical issues that require special care). His response was "How dramatic". I also had work done by the same dentist a few months back who, along with the hygienist sang loudly the entire time he worked on me. f I could put 0 stars I would . The 1st time I went in for an exam they rolled out their best doctor and the hygienist is amazing . She's the ONLY good thing about my experience. The 2nd time I came back to get work done that's where they switched it up and gave me a different dentist (without letting me know ...surprise ) I saw mister papademetriou on 5.16.22 and I should have gone with my gut instinct to run ... but I didn't . He didn't seem very confident in what he was doing and when he "finished" I felt a hole in my front tooth was still there . So before I walked out the door I said it didn't feel right so he sat me back in the chair and said "there that's good " and I said is it ok to still feel a hole ? And he said yeah it's fine as they rushed me out . 2 months later I went to a new dentist because the tooth he had worked on hurt and the other tooth he worked on still had a hole . My new dentist had to our filings on both teeth that this mister popademetriou had "already" worked on . Now there is no hole in my tooth and no pain and stansell dentistry refuses to compensate me for money lost . I paid for a service that was not rendered . It's like going to a mechanic and paying all this money and they tell you they fixed the problem but they didn't but you have no idea because you aren't a mechanic . I am reporting this to the dental board and hoping they do an investigation. I don't want this to happen to anyone else! Please go somewhere else where it won't be the old bait and switch ! They probably say they do work then have you come in and get the same work done repeatedly And the office manager had the audacity to tell me. " well the service was rendered so you can't get your money back "(obviously services were NOT rendered) or my favorite " why did you leave if you weren't satisfied ?" . I have had my entire family coming here for over 10 years and I am shocked at how poor the customer care has become. The dentist, Dr. Stansell walked out of my appointment with her and had another dentist take her place, no phone call to notify me, because of "company policy" that she could not fix the filling that the previous dentist there had messed up. So she wanted the other dentist who messed up my filling to fix it which was not what I set up my appointment with very clearly with confirmation. They also will not return a phone call within almost 2 month of almost daily phone calls complaining that I was in pain and could not drink anything cold since my filling fell out after 1st dentist botched my filling. I have never had a filling fall out immediately after completion. She said she fixed it but I've had pain for months since and I didn't even have pain where I was told a I had a cavity before this mess. In the end, they refused to help me unless I let the 1st dentist try to fix it. Good for you to know. My wife also, previous to the abuse I was put through, had a botched filling also from Stansell Dentistry about a year prior when they injected novacain into her gum and somehow damaged a nerve causing her to not be able to eat on that side of her mouth. I'm in my 50's snd we have never had any complication with getting a cavity filled nor with getting a health care professional to return a phone call because of needing service. Btw, another dentist who was booked for months, offered to make this an emergency service when she heard my story. Ashley is the only good thing about this place. The rest of the staff has turned over and the new staff is terrible. During my regular appointment the visiting dentist didn't even look at my teeth. I did a Zoom whitening session and the assistant botched it since she wasn't trained on it. I've contacted the office multiple times and haven't received a resolution. Stay far away! read more

I recommend Stansell Dentistry off Falls of Neuse for your dental needs especially any work more than standard cleaning. I'm not a big fan of the ultrasonic cleaning, to me it is harsher and activated my urge to swallow constantly. I've had other hygienists that have done gentler cleaning, but for more involved procedures I highly recommend Stansell. It's been decades since I've had a filling. In fact I never had shots to get the fillings I have. The country dentist I went to didn't even numb the gums. So going to get a few fillings replaced, I was more concerned about the shots than the drill. I didn't need to be. There was absolutely no discomfort and Dr LR was calm, soft spoken, steady, and totally skilled in taking care of a number of old cracked fillings. I watched an episode of the Great British Baking Show while she did her work. I drooled most of the afternoon, but now that the shots have worn off, absolutely no discomfort. Insurance covered half but even the cost to me was reasonable. New patient exams with X-rays even without insurance are $99. If you're looking for a good dental practice, this is one to check out. read more

Hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. I've now visited both Raleigh offices on multiple occasions and the experience is about as positive as it gets at both places. I really don't like the dentist; unfortunately it creates a lot of anxiety spikes for me. The staff at Stansell are well trained in awareness and empathy. They pay attention to any signs of discomfort, both physical and emotional, and are quick to pause and check in. The receptionists are always incredibly friendly, cheerful, and (presumably by referencing your photo on file) always address you by name when you come in. They are at the ready to choose a netflix program or pandora station for you to watch/listen to during your appointment and they are incredibly efficient and effective at their jobs. I know the dentist is generally no one's favorite place to go, but for the first time ever, this office has inspired dental loyalty from me. read more

I had not been to the dentist in over 15 years so therfore my anxiety was very elevated . Also , I was a Self-Pay customer . They successfully accommodated both of those concerns . I have terrible anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. In the past I have had to take medication and even have sedation for any work. My FIRST visit into this office I already felt better then I did anywhere else. From being greeted by the most friendly young lady at the reception desk, to the sweet hygienist who talked just evenly and calmly to keep my mind distracted, to the amazing. Dentist who complimented and gave advice how to better my teeth. You can tell they all get along and love what they do. Which made for such a pleasant atmosphere! Also. The hygienist is a saint and barely had to make that terrible scrapping on my teeth because of the updated tools and technology they use. All around AMAZING experience. After some trial and error (one major error!) I found Stansell. Finally somewhere I felt good about going and felt well taken care of. No matter which office I went to I found friendly, happy people who wanted nothing more than to make me feel comfortable and take good care of my teeth. Their equipment is cutting-edge modern with lighted images on the ceilings so that you have something nice to look at. There's also the option of listening to the music of your choice if you prefer that. Teeth cleaning has improved by leaps and bounds and what once took nearly an hour (yes, I remember those days!) now takes, it seems, just minutes. They have this sonic water tool that blasts off the tarter painlessly. Wow! And there's a $99 special for anyone without insurance. I've been going to them for 4-5 years now and I've never walked out of their office disappointed. Going to the dentist has never bothered me at all, even when I needed a root canal. They treated me fine when i had dental insurance. But once i lost my insurance i might as well been a leper. I became unemployed through no fault of my own and had limited funds to get a filling replaced. They quoted me $163 to do the work out of pocket. Then realized that since i didnt have insurance i was no longer qualified for the 'in network discount'. And raised the price to $244 on me. A 33% difference! Yes they give the big insurance companies that much of a discount but wont help out an individual who has fallen on hard times, who previously gave them thousands of dollars of business, and who might have to choose between groceries and getting a tooth fixed? Where's the concern and compassion for their community? Not at Stansell dentistry. They serve the almighty dollar and the interests of the insurance companies instead of the people. Just had a wonderful first-time experience at Stansell!! I typically use Groupon or other coupons for dental cleanings since I choose to opt out of dental insurance. You always hear about patients getting upsold on some kind of treatment when they use these discounts, and I've had my fair share of those encounters (I get it; I don't fall for it, but I get it!). The staff at Stansell were fully aware of my Groupon-using status and were so friendly and kind! Most importantly, they weren't pushing for me to get any mysterious treatments or add-on procedures. Bought a Groupon deal to get x-rays and a cleaning. They said that because I needed periodontal scaling that they can't do the cleaning and that it would cost me ~$1000 to do the periodontal cleaning. Two months later I went to another dentist and they did the regular cleaning just fine... A few months later another dentist did the regular cleaning just fine as well.. I'm surprised to see great reviews from other people. It seems if you're having one of those Groupon/coupons you'll be treated differently, at least that was my experience read more

I had given them a 5* review after my first visit a few years ago but now have changed my mind. I was scheduled to have a few teeth repaired but when I got there, they only repaired one. Said they changed their mind and the other would need a crown. It would have been nice if someone would have given me a call when this decision was made. Then when I went to pay, my credit card was charged for both of the procedures. Had to wait a good amount of time until someone was able to give my credit card a refund. They gave me a call to move up my cleaning appointment due to a cancellation. Told them, I wanted my tooth repaired first that should have been done months ago but they never even called my back. A few weeks later, got an email for the same thing, another cancellation but this time they said the email went out by mistake. Seems they are not very organized. I am going to have to agree with Alyssa B.'s review. I have not received a resolution either, stay away. read more
