Incredibly grateful for Dr. Welborne and Lead Dental Assistant Abbie and the entire team at Cameron Village. I have a ton of anxiety about my dental care, and they made me feel at home and in good hands throughout my visits. Also, the quality of their work is not to be understated. I felt close to 0 pain throughout all of my procedures, and my teeth look INCREDIBLE to me now. I used to smile with closed lips before coming here, now I can't stop smiling. Charged for a missed appointment even after explaining we were sick with Covid and felt horrible. Office would not return phone calls or follow up on our request to have the fee waived. Understand people abuse missing appointments so there is a need to have a fee but it's bad business to not try to keep people over one missed appointment. The really unfortunate part was we tried multiple times to get an answer on if they would waive the fee and just got no response. You are not that busy to not call someone back. Not a great way to keep customers. Hopefully they learn from this and do better for the next customer with some processes in place to make sure phone calls are returned! read more

Strange to leave a review for a Dentist i didn't go to but they deserve it! Was needing amalgam fillings replaced and researched holistic Dentists using the SMART protocol. Tracey Hurst, their patient concierge was so helpful and friendly navigating my concerns and insurance. Ended up going with my longtime dentist for a variety of reasons, but I felt I would have been in good hands with this practice. read more

They used to be really good when Dr McConnell was there. I had no problems. Now it feels like everything is a problem and their prices are exorbitant. When I got new insurance, the front desk didn't tell me they were not in network, and for the first time in 60 years I had to pay for a cleaning. I also couldn't get my second cleaning for the year done because they were going to be closed for so long. My last filling has to be redone because it was left rough and didn't get all the decay. I did like Dr Matthews, but I would no longer recommend that practice. read more

I've had some pretty terrifying dental experiences in the past, but Dr. Shireman and her hygenists have made routine dental care a pleasant and comfortable experience. They are so gentle- even in cleaning, and they explain everything before they do it. If you're afraid of dental work- try them out! They'll ease your fears and leave you with a good experience. I knew exactly what I had to pay before work had to be done, and they send several reminders before appointments. Highly recommend them!!!! read more

They were actually pretty great while I was in my visit. It wasn't until a couple of months later that I was informed that my insurance company barely covered anything. That was a HUGE chunk out of my pocket that I wasn't expecting. I was told at time of visit "oh your insurance company has good coverage", so the huge bill was even a bigger shock after hearing that. They should have done a better job up front so I could have made a better decision. read more

I've been to several dentists over the years and Dr. McConnell is the best by far. She is professional and patient, kind and joyful. She takes the time to explain everything, but also works quickly. In the past, it would take a long time for me to become numb and I'd usually experience pain anyway. Not anymore. But what I've been most impressed with is her artistic ability. I recently had a front tooth worked on and it looks completely natural. Every time I smile, I'm thankful. I loved Dr. Jessica and her staff! They are fine whether you use fluoride or are more holistic and won't give you a hard time about either. I went in for a general cleaning after several years of avoiding the dentist for several reasons and was so impressed I asked if the office treats children, which they do. I brought my 7 year old son with high functioning Aspergher's, letting them know ahead of time that he has occasional sensory issues. They said they were fine with that. My son unexpectedly put up some resistance at his appointment because of those issues, which surprised me since he hadn't reacted so strongly to light and sound in a few years. But his hygienist just rolled with it, offering accommodations for him until he settled in. The rest of the appointment went fine. No one seems alarmist or pushy there, and as someone who has had dentists attempt to push products on me in the past, I appreciate that. I actually scheduled another appointment for me in 6 months, which I don't think I've ever done with a single dentist before (I REALLY don't like going to the dentist). Big bonus - I had been interested in finding a more holistic dental practice for quite some time, but never did because I'd never found one that accepted insurance. My son had a great experience. He usually does not like to visit the dentist but was happy after this visit. The technician and the dentist were thorough and were open to listening. I like that the office now uses bamboo bags and other natural toothpaste and products for the goodie bag to take home. My only wish is that I wish they accepted all insurances. read more

Beware of over diagnosis. Was told I had gum disease and needed "scaling". Have since been to three appointments with my new dentist (he's been practicing in Raleigh for 30 years) and received a clean bill of health all three times. Have even been told I have great teeth. This practice is quite common, just google it. If told you need extra work, get a second opinion. read more

First time coming to this dentist. And I will be returning for all my dental needs. Dr McConnell explained the procedures that needed to be done to remove my amalgam fillings. She gave a very detailed quote of costs. She also told me how she would approach each tooth and fixing it. She was very kind. I also had a great hygienist named Jane. She worked diligently on my teeth and was extremely friendly. All around my visit to this dentist was perfect. That and this dentist is a biological dentist and uses all holistic and non toxic products. So for those with an autoimmune condition this can prevent a flare because of the use of non toxics. I've been a patient here for 3 years, but I am finally leaving my review of all great experiences. I chose this dentist for their holistic approach, I stayed with this dentist because of Dr. Shireman's professionalism, knowledge, the great staff and the office environment. In addition to routine cleanings, I had 4 amalgam fillings removed after learning about their negative effects on health. Per protocol, I had to have 2 sessions done. The procedure itself is uncomfortable, but very quick and Dr. Shireman and the hygienists do a great job of preparing you. I go back soon for a more cosmetic procedure of adding an enamel-like material over a discolored tooth. Other dentists have tried to sell me on Invisalign to fix this problem as well as suggested braces (which I've already had). All costly and not what I was looking for. Cameron Village dentist gave me a viable option at 1/10 of the cost of other "solutions" I've received. If you want a comforting, clean, professional dental experience, I'd book your appointment here. You'll be impressed with their care. read more

I am in love with this place. They are very friendly and accommodate Saturday appointments. They use amazing practices for people with food and chemical sensitivities. Could not be happier with Cameron Village Dentist, always punctual and easy to work with with our large family. I'm not even a patient there and my experience was less than stellar. My first attempt was to schedule appointments for both myself and my husband via the website in January. Never heard anything. Dental appointments are coming up and I just tried calling. The first call I was hung up on. I called back and someone named possibly Jalen (I couldn't really hear her) answered the phone. I let her know that I had tried to schedule appointments via the website and hadn't heard back and asked if they were accepting new patients. She said "Yes." and became silent. I paused a second thinking she would move forward but nothing. I then asked if we could schedule an appointment and she said "yeah, sure." as if I was bothering her, asked for my husband's name and then the line disconnected again. I called back and no answer. If there dental service is anything like the headache of scheduling an appointment then I'm glad we aren't actually going to be going there. read more

We are extremely thankful for the holistic approach this office takes in caring for our family, especially our children, who by the way have never used fluoride toothpaste nor drank fluoridated water, and also have never had a cavity. Dr. Jessica did a wonderful job replacing a cracked amalgam filling I had and with a ceramic crown. Thanks to her expertise, I am now free from the health issues (psoriasis and headaches) I was having, due to the heavy metals that were leaching into my body from the cracked amalgam (mercury) filling. The people of Raleigh would be wise to seek more holistic approaches in dentistry, so they and their families would be exposed to fewer heavy metals, unnecessary radiation from X-rays and fluoride. read more

The dentist burned my skin with acid during a filling. I was given an expired whitening pen to try and make up for her mistake. I have a lasting scar on my skin which I had to see a dermatologist for. Very unprofessional and care-free, which is not what I want from a dentist. read more

After having such a good experience with an emergency tooth extraction, I made an appointment to have a new patient exam and cleaning. I thought no big deal, in and out. What I got stunned me. I have never had such a thorough detailed exam of my mouth or cleaning of my teeth, EVER! I was so reluctant to leave my old dentist, but this dental team is so much better, I wish I had left sooner. The dental hygienist Jane was so sweet so funny and most importantly, so professional. While cleaning my teeth she spent most of the time actually teaching me about my teeth and explaining the medical rationale for her recommendations of care. She cleaned each tooth so well that when she was done and I was handed the mirror, I was so pleased at how much whiter my teeth were. Jane did such a great job and it was so relaxing, I requested to have my teeth cleaned every four months rather than every six months. She is an excellent dental hygienist. After 2 years of avoiding the dentist because of a bad experience, I had to suck it up and find a good one who I can trust. I found Cameron Village Dentist in a local search and liked how they use holistic practices. I went in for a check up and ended up needing a deep clean debridement. Unfortunately, my insurance didn't cover this procedure, but the results are awesome. Terri, my hygenist did a great job and made me confident to smile fully again.
