I wish I could give this business negative points. First, they were highly unprofessional with the sales person dropping the f bomb left and right. Then came the upsell on the 2 for $79. I went along even though I knew my son didn't need polycarbonate lenses, as his current glasses didn't have them, and when I typed in his prescription at online places, plastic was recommended for the strength of his prescription. Next came the fact that the optician checking him out after glasses were completed was an online check up! We were already certain we wouldn't be back, BUT then, on day 9 of owning said glasses, my son was sitting at his computer doing an online class, which is currently the extent of his life so no rough wear on the glasses, when the glasses just fell off his face. The temple/ear piece was just glued on. I called the store to utilize the frame warranty only to find out the warranty is useless. I would have to pay $17 to get the glasses taken care of--on top of shipping both ways to get the glasses to them and the new ones to our son away at college. No way, as the way this frame is made, it's going to happen again. And I'm not paying repairs every 9 days!! With the store being in FL, glue won't hold these together in the heat. Worst eyeglass experience ever out of a family of 4 wearing glass for a range of 15-40 years!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I was very happy with the service I received from Rebin at the River City location. He was very caring and has a great sense of humor. I came about 30 minutes before they closed and was welcomed right in. I did not feel rushed or pressured and Rebin took the time to explain everything to me and made sure I understood and allowed me to ask questions. The only person that was kind and professional had good customer service skills was a worker named Katrina. They messed up the prescription and then tried to charge me for it after they messed it up. Some workers were very racist towards me and my family. They judged us based off of the color of our skin. They have very bad attitudes on top of that. Do not waste your time or money, especially your money. Would not recommend anyone go there. I was not aware when I made the appointment or when I arrived that the eye exam was done remotely. This did not sit well and felt awkward the entire time. The exam did not feel personal or professional. At the point where the close-up part of the exam was to be conducted, the remote examiner tried buzzing the women in the shop to do what they needed before the exam could proceed. With no response, she buzzed again and again. Then she felt the need to ask me to go and get the person so the exam could continue. Very unprofessional to say the least. When the exam finished and I selected my two pairs of glasses, I went to check out. Having entered past the sign stating exam and two pairs of glasses for $79 or something like that, I was more than shocked when the office person said it would be something like $650. WHAT? When asked about that, she said there were vitamins the doctor recommended (she never mentioned them to me, another problem with a doctor who is not there in the office), and the bifocals were something like $300+ for the lenses. Also on the sheet was some other treatment or conditioning on the glasses that was never requested or approved. It felt like such a list of add ons that I felt we were being scammed. I expressed my shock and was about to leave. She removed all the items I never approved and gave me a discount on one set of lenses, making my total about $220. I agreed to that amount and ordered one set of glasses. The glasses arrived and I went to pick them up. They let me put on the glasses and look across the office to see if they were good enough. It was not until after I got to my car that I realized I could not use the reading part of the glasses in my car because they focused so close to my eyes. A dashboard and a computer screen are still blurry with my new glasses. The distance part is not right either but looked fine across the office in a ten second test. I will not give them my business again and would not recommend them at all. read more

Went there for an eye exam and fitting for contact lens.Arrived 20 minutes early. I was then informed that the eye exam was remote. Filled out patient information forms online before I got there, and still had to redo all the forms on arrival. Glitches in the system prevented the forms from being completed, so after 45 minutes of dickering back and forth with the Technician/Receptionist, I was finally able to complete the forms on their tablet. After another 10 minutes of waiting I was finally starting my eye test. Multiple interruptions occured during my testing because there was only one technician there, and she had to multi task. The online testing could be beneficial if the "Doctor" was a bit more patient and allowed more time to repeat the process of selection. In the middle of the testing, the network froze up and communication was lost, and so some of the tests had to be repeated once the network was back online. The female "Doctor" on the other end of the network seemed very impatient and in a rush. To summarize, I was unable to get 20/20 correction and so the online "Doctor" would not issue me a prescription, but they still charged me for the testing and FITTING of the contact lens. Avoid this place at all means. read more

Well, turns out my last post wasn't the end of the story. When the insurance verified the benefits had been returned, they were only referring to mine - not my wife's. They called the store to verify the refund, and apparently the manager wasn't in and the employee at the store told them my wife had never returned the glasses. Now, if you go back, you'll see that my wife was the one who received a refund, and I had to keep calling to get mine. Clearly, this organization simply runs on chaos and no one apparently knows anything. So...I had to call the notorious Stanton Optical Customer Service line again. I immediately asked for a supervisor, and was told they needed to know what the problem was to tell the supervisor. I explained the problem, and he said he needed the personal information. I gave him my wife's information and explained I was calling for my wife. He said they had to speak with her. No problem, she was right next to me. He asked a couple of more questions, which she answered and then he asked for the phone number on the account which is my phone number. I gave it to him, and he said, sorry, I have to speak with her directly. She's sitting right next to me talking to him! I pointed this out to him and she did too, but he kept insisting he had to speak to her directly, which he was! Then I asked for a manager - this was a test to see if their instructions had be changed, as Mr. Rocha said they would be. No, they don't have any managers. I asked several times for a manager, and he kept saying, no, there is no customer service manager. I finally asked for a supervisor (which, by the way, he never offered to give the call to a supervisor despite that being the first thing I asked for when I called - he just denied there was a customer service manager). He put us on hold and got a supervisor. After a minute or two, Michel came on and was very nice, I gave him a brief background and he said he was well aware of my previous communication with Mr. Stanton and Mr. Rocha. When I explained the current situation to him, he repeated the situation and asked a couple of questions to be sure he understood. He sent a message to their insurance department directing that my wife's benefits be refunded and emailed me a confirmation number for the refund. He explained it could take a little time, which I understand. I also called the regional manager and left a message with her to be sure it was taken care of in a timely manner. I honestly hope this is the last time I have to deal with this company. I will never use any office associated with Stanton Optical again, and this was my first - and only experience with them. read more

Second time using MyEyeLab. First time was end of 2019 into 2020. Spent 600 dollars on contacts, glasses and sunglasses that I'll never be able to use. The contacts were never picked up properly as the trial pair I had told me that the prescription was off. The lady told me to bring in my old prescription and we could compare, I was never able to resolve the problem in time because of having a young child and Covid being a thing (along with trying to find my old box of contacts and life in general.) Long story short they were sent back (apparently after 120 days or so) and I never received a refund or anything as one should for an unused order. My last visit was on 12/27/2021. I only ordered contacts and glasses this time. Visit went better than previously, I didn't feel pressured into buying anything extra as I went in with a stronger head than 2019 me. My glasses are set to be here on 1/10/2022 but my issue is again with the contacts. I was never offered a trial pair with this order. My order was set to be ready on 1/3. Got a notification on the 31st that the order was ready, went in on 1/6, picked it up and got home to realize that they only sent me the left eyes. It was too late to run back that night so I went in today and come to find out my right eyes are on backorder! Honestly a waste of my time as I would've just preferred to wait for a actual pickup date for them both to be ready. Instead of the order status stating they're ready and only one set being there! Who knows how long that'll take... Once I get my glasses and contacts I'll find somewhere else to get my exams. read more

I visited the store on 8/1 and had good service from the two employees that were present, my apologies for not remembering their names. Had my eye exam and picked out a couple frames. I was told my order won't be in until a week later. I payed and left the store. The very next day I called the store within 24h to cancel the order. The store manager (Ashton Adstem) told me I cannot cancel because it was a medical device...that was lie #1. Next she told me her system could not refund my care credit card which I used to make the purchase...that was lie #2. I asked her name and she refused to give it to me. I was at work during this conversation so I stopped into the store afterwards to put a face to very rude manager (Ashton Adstem) whom I spoke with over the phone. She had the employees tell me she wasn't there so I left. Long story short I got home and called their cooperate office and explained my situation. They reached out to the store, and within minutes I received a call from that same very rude manager (Ashton Adstem) telling me when I would receive my refund. When I told the manager Jerelyn Clack that I can't see out of the glasses she just made jokes about it and told me that they don't give refunds. I don't know where to start! This has been the worst 3 eye exam visit I have ever had! They do not deserve A star! When I 1st went in to get my contacts/ glasses they did everything backwards and weird! They did the digital exam, I guess because of COVID, I felt very uncomfortable, they did this three times. The staff was rude & act like they were very new at the process! They kept giving me the incorrect contact lenses! 1st of all they didn't call me to let me know they got them! I gave them three chances to get it right as I had already paid for my eye exams for both glasses & contacts! Finally, When I spoke with the Manager all she could tell me was to make an appointment with the doctor, then he got it wrong because I could not see out of the prescription he gave me neither & he had the nerve to tell me I needed readers! If readers would allow me to see, I would not need them! I got frustrated, they made me frustrated & stressed! However, Needless to say they didn't call to try & make it right! Their customer service & patience was aweful! They would make you wait a long time for the services, no matter what you were getting! I ask the girl to let me use some solution to take out my contacts for the exam the girl advised they don't have any! Are you kidding me? I know it was a lie because they sold it on the shelves! I was very disappointed when I received notification that my contacts were ready but I didn't receive trial lenses with it like I was told. At the first time, there were no trial lenses for me to take home so was told they would order it for me. When I got there for my contacts, was told the trials order was never place and they told me I needed to come back. I've told them in the beginning I never worn multi focal contacts and wanted to try them first. What a big disappointing turnaround! read more

This was the worst eye exam experience I have ever had. First, you never see a doctor, there isn't even a doctor there to see, you see a "patient coordinator" who was maybe the rudest person on this planet, yeah, that's you Ariel. Ariel worked as a server at a restaurant close by just a few weeks ago according to her rambling, so this is not an experienced person to begin with. Not helpful, not courteous, not professional. Secondly, when making the appt. at the call center I specifically ask about them preforming a specific test and that I didn't want that to be done and could I still get the rest of the eye exam and my prescription and was assured that would be fine. After taking out my contacts and sitting down for the exam I tried to confirm with Ariel that I didn't have to do that part for the exam and she assured me that YES I DID. I told her I wouldn't for health reasons and she said that they wouldn't do the exam and who ever told me that didn't know what they were talking about. Needless to say, a big waste of my time because I didn't get an eye exam. Not only is the employee not good with customers but then speaks badly about others at her company! The topper on the cake was when I called back because I had forgotten her name and position and wanted to make sure I had the right information to make a complaint, she tells me that next week the manager is leaving and she is going to be the store manager! This has been the absolute worst experience in sales and customer service I've seen. I've managed sales and customer service as a regional GM for years and I've never seen something that has fallen so short before. Not only was the sales associate rude but she also felt the need to explain to me that she had to sell or they were going to close the store. I had an opportunity to meet the regional manager and he was great even beyond what I would expect for the position. He began to speak to me about my glasses, and the sales associate felt the need to cut him off in the rudest of ways saying "stop before he changes his mind again." He was visibly shocked but deco died to smile and move on to not make a scene. It's been well over a month and after my 3rd trip back to the store they finally called, as they said they would 2 trips ago, and found out that my order was lost. The manager had the order reshipped and today over a month later I received a call saying the order was ready, but then got a text saying it wasn't. The system for managing customers as they come in, customer service skills, as well as a few fundamental issues in the process need to be addressed. I will never be back. Especially as I spent more with them outside of my insurance as a means to support local business. read more

I was in need of having a vision exam and glasses since it had been a while. I opted to try My Eyelab in Rivercity rather than another company that was recommended to me. Upon my initial visit they were were very prompt and my exam went very well. The issue did not arise until my second visit on May 11th to pick up my glasses. I asked were they in and was told one pair was and when asked the date of arrival for the second pair she went back to the same batch and located my second pair. When I tried the glasses on they did not fit as the ones I saw in the store and I explained my concern to them and the reps response to me was "you didn't see that went you tried them on the first time" which was very condescending, rude, and poor customer service. She felt the need to display poor professionalism rather than work to satisfy a customer. From here it was down hill. There was not tech in the store to make an adjustments to the glasses and I was told I would have to come back. While leaving, I opened the second pair of glasses and notice they were damaged. I turned around and returned to the store to show them and they had the audacity to take a pair of glass off of display to give to me. I couldn't believe it. When I saw her walk to the display, I was assuming she was going so she could get a number off them. I expressed my concern that with the pandemic of COVID-19 and health sanitation being a top priority, you would give a customer glasses off of display that customers try on. At this point another rep (Samone) rudely chimes in that we clean them which still is besides the point. It would have been more appropriate to explain this option first and asked rather than assume I would want or take glasses that someone else could've had on compared to ordering me some. In the end they went ahead and ordered another pair but did not provide me any documentation or tell me when they will be in. While I am still in disbelief and discussing the issue, Samone abruptly and rudely tries to make me be quite. I have never experience such horrible service in all my years of optical purchasing. My Eyelab Rivercity I wouldn't recommend to anyone!!! They definitely need to reexamine the employees working here, provide customer service and relational training to its staff. read more
