I decided to go to Stanton because my insurance changed and I can't go to my regular eye doctor anymore. I just needed a prescription renewal for my contacts, so I thought this would be fine until I find a new one. This place is a total nightmare. I made an appointment so that I wouldn't have to wait for my eye exam, but that did nothing. I got there 5 min. before I was scheduled and there were 2 people ahead of me. I signed in and sat down. I'm a patient person, so I didn't really care. While I was waiting, there was a weird incident with the doctor passive-aggressively sort of yelling at one of the employees, right in front of about 5 customers- not cool. After about 15 minutes I was taken in for my pre-exam. That went fine, and then I was sent back to the waiting room. Where I sat for over an HOUR. It was the most bizarre experience. The doctor took the other 2 patients first, and their exams went pretty quick. I was a little annoyed since I had an appointment, but I thought maybe they did too and things were running behind schedule. So I sat. Once the doctor finished the other two I waited to be taken to the exam room, but that never happened. The doctor instead got on the phone. She kept making phone calls and going in and out of her office. My husband finally asked her what was going on, and she said she had to contact corporate because we had been waiting so long. WHAT?! I had been waiting forever because she was on the phone- SHE was causing the wait! And she was making it longer. I asked her if there was someone that could do my exam and she said yes, her, but she had to talk to corporate first because she had to follow protocol. She asked if we could come back, but I already had been sitting there for forever and had my contacts out, so I told her I just wanted the exam done and would wait. She wasn't very happy about that. Eventually another employee came back to the waiting room to ask what she was doing and she said the same thing- she was calling corporate and the lines were tied up. She told the guy that if she couldn't get thru to someone she was leaving. He looked shocked and asked why she would do that, to which she replied "because I can." Then she yelled at him to go do his job. After that outburst I put my contacts back in and left. I've never experienced anything quite like that before, and I hope I never do again. This doctor was so incredibly unprofessional, rude, and just bizarre. She needs to be removed. read more

DO NOT TRUST POSITIVE REVIEWS. CUSTOMERS ARE OFFERED DISCOUNTS IF THEY SHOW THEY HAVE POSTED A POSITIVE REVIEW ON YELP OR GOOGLE REVIEWS. Good luck trying to get in and out with minimal service in less than two and a half hours. Seriously expect to be in there for a really long time. If you have a specific budget you're trying to stay within, and/or if you don't want extra add-on features like warranty, UV protection coating, etc etc, be prepared to say "no" like 50 times. They go far, far past good salesmanship and deep into haranguing and annoying territory. Their commitment to nickel and diming you for $10 or $20 at a time is going to cost them customers. If you want them to honor the satisfaction guarantee, be prepared to be VERY AGGRESSIVE, persistent, stand your ground and budget lots and lots of time (hours) to demand your refund. Otherwise you'll be referred to corporate who will give you a whole new level of run-around. Do not leave the store until someone TAKES ACTION that complies with the satisfaction guarantee. Again, be prepared to be in there for a very long time if you're trying to get corrective action for a product you're not satisfied with. Normal service can easily take more than two hours. The process to fix a problem will take much, much more than that. If you're not happy with the service you get, you are in for a very, very, very, very long and torturous process. This review is for Stanton Optical Madison East, this company use to be very good with the price and quality of their glasses when they just open, we've had several glasses made for our family of 4 wearing glasses for years, got good deals for price, but the last time we were there and order new glasses was pretty bad, the sale is the bait and switch game. Ended up paying $300.00 for one, the buy one get free at the time sale not worth anything. The quality of the lense and the workmanship on the eye glass itself was so poor, was not polish when I received it, had to go back many times, every time they polished it, the lenses on both sides are not lined or crooked. After a year it had cracked, it absorbs so much grime and dirt,Had to clean it many times during the day, just staying home not even working around dirty environments.Ended up not wearing it. Great prices (with groupon) and great service !!! I had frames and needed new lenses, I threw away the old lenses, they took the time to figure out the shape of the lenses and custom cut them for me. Lenses were polycarbonate, anti-glare and scratch resistant all for $62 (normal price would have been $212 just for the lenses but i had a $50 groupon for $200 worth) I would definitely use Stanton again and will refer others. another downside, they require several days to finish the lenses (no 1 hour or same day service). P.S. if it had not been for the Groupon, I would not have used them as the price would have been higher than most. read more

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would. The free eye exam is a bait and switch if you wear contacts. The quality control stinks. First attempt my contacts and glasses were both blurry. Second attempt contacts were made right. On my 5th attempt with glasses for a very simple single prescription. They can't even make a simple pair of glasses. When I asked for a refund this morning they were not willing to refund my money. The glasses ended up like you were looking out of smeared grease on. Went to a new company and got different glasses. Went back to get Stanton ' branded fixed, seeing there was a warranty for a year. Well I guess we didn't read the fine print. Even though it was before a year, we'd have to pay a percentage. It would have cost $80 after we paid already $600. It was their defect of the glare resistance. They said if we would have come in within a month they could have done something. Sorry we didn't realize the year warranty was really only a month. Went in this morning to get the nose piece for my glasses fixed. Walked in at 9am. There was one worker who failed for 15 minutes to greet me. definitely would NOT recommend Stanton Optical for your eye care needs. They told me it would be two weeks for my glasses but it took five weeks. I kept calling trying to find out when they would be in. They kept telling me they were being processed. A couple days before I was supposed to pick them up I finally found out that they had broken them and had to redo them. When I went to pick them up they did not adjust them to make sure they fit properly. They just handed them to me and told me to give it 5 days to get adjusted because they were bifocals. I brought them back and told them they were not correct and they adjusted the frames or nose pieces and told me to give them another couple days. I went back a third time and told them the bifocals were not in the correct spot. They sent them out to get them redone which took another two weeks. When I got them back I couldn't see out of the top or bottom part of the lens. It's like I was looking through the bottom of a coke bottle with double vision. They again told me to get used to them for a couple days to find The Sweet Spot since they were bifocals. I have worn bifocals for over 10 years and have never had an issue getting used to them. I called them a couple days later and told them I wanted a refund because I had been up there four times and they were worse than ever and I didn't want to go up a fifth time considering it's an hour-and-a-half round trip not to mention gas. They did refund me and I took them someplace else to get them done correctly. When I had them recheck the prescription at the new place, the thread was coming out that held the lens in. The lens could have fallen out at any time. The new place also readjusted the nose pieces since except for the first time I went back Stanton never once adjusted my glasses to make sure they fit and they were sitting way too high on my face. The worst customer service ever!! I paid $273 up front to get two frames with prescription lenses, which they promised I would have by April 16th. I received my cheaper pair, which cost $29. I asked when I'd get my second, which they promised me would be in before the 16th. I get a call from the manager saying they have my prescription lenses, but not the frames. I asked where my frames went, since they said they'd ship both pairs to the lab. Still waiting for the phone call from her to see where my frames went to. I decided to call to ask where my second more expensive pair of glasses I paid up front for are, only to be told someone else took my frames and the manager would call me within 24 hours to give me a status update. It is now going on three weeks and I have yet to receive a call from the manager to explain to me what happened and what they are going to do to for me. I paid in full, received no communication from anyone there, and really the worst service I've ever receive. Do NOT go to this store, unless you want to be ripped off! *You want 2 pr for the price of 1?? GO ELSEWHERE, SAVE YOURSELF! WORST OPTICAL EXPERIENCE EVER!! The $29 "free" exam fee- for a BOTCHED EXAM - was not returned to me after I HAD to RETURN glasses, due to the WRONG PRESCRIPTION being dispensed from THEIR OPTOMETRIST. Altho the place AT FIRST GLANCE appears clean, all the frames I tried on needed at least periodical cleaning, lenses were visibly FILTHY, and within 2 days after trying on (and buying) 1 pr frames from there, I developed a skin infection where frames contact point is (where ear attaches to head.) When I initially went to pick up the finished glasses, I could see through the 1 lens out of 2 that seemed to be correct prescription; I had also NOT been informed that these smaller frames would"squish" my progressive prescription into tiny space, as the whole progressive prescription needs top to bottom room enough to fit into a frame properly. I hoes this helps someone with a progressive prescription to pick large enough frames for their prescription. The dispensary employee- who actually came to work to dispense glasses to people, WITH PINKEYE from their child- told me to "try them on 1st thing in the morning," that my eyes would adjust. Tried that, it was a WRONG prescription. And guess what?? I GOT PINKEYE!, which is highly contagious and required antibiotic eyedrops to cure. MY frames were returned to me 3 MONTHS LATER, WITHOUT ANY clear plastic lenses, making them not returnable to the frame company. It was very difficult to reach an employee at corporate to straighten things out, "customer service" phone number automatically put me on permahold, then cut the call off at the 20 minute mark. I tried this 3 times, same result. After emails with a corporate employee, I had to FIGHT to get back ONLY PART of what I spent. They insist on keeping the $29 for exam fee, because I did not end up accepting their incorrect results. Save your eye health, money, time and exasperation. read more

I took my husband to Stanton Optical today as he broke his glasses yesterday. I was very pleased to find a friendly and very helpful environment! The people were polite and answered any and all questions we had. We work with a gentleman named Lucas. He was a very pleasant man, he explained everything about the deals and about the contact differences. I went to Stanton for prescription sunglasses. I wanted the 2 for $69 deal. I ended up paying $209 because you had to upgrade the lenses. I ordered them two weeks ago. They never called to tell me they were done and I live out of town. I specifically asked that they be done in two weeks because of living out of town. They said no problem. I called two weeks later when I was back in town. They told me it would take another week. I explained the situation and told them I needed them ASAP. One pair was finished that day. The second pair is still not done and they told me they would be completed the end of the day Friday. I drove all the way over there Friday and yesterday for nothing. EXTREMELY disappointed! I fully intend to demand a refund! Worst service I have ever experienced! Don't tell me on two separate occasions they will be done and have me drive there when they are not ready! read more

BEWARE!!!!! I would give this place 0 stars if the system let me. I only went here because of a groupon and if I had read the reviews first (or seen the BBB report at http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/opticians/stanton-optical-in-palm-springs-fl-90006656#) I would have known better. The company is being sued by at least one state Attorney General. The frame "specialist" should have known the frames I bought (and which he fitted) did NOT fit my nose properly and would leave my skin irritated, red, and sore. In other words, the glasses (which I need to see!) can't be worn for any length of time. But I only learned that after having the glasses for a while. And then, because the store is 45 minutes from home, I couldn't get back in. And the company website hides the return and guarantee policies. The company called me last week and asked about my purchase. I explained the problems and the company representative (who knew the purchase date) told me to go back to the store and assured me the store would resolve the problems to my satisfaction. When I went in yesterday, the store staff said the 30 day return period was over and it was now a warranty issue and I would have to pay money to correct the problem. When I called "senior patient relations" at 888-792-8588, Jane told me the same thing and said that no matter what the Stanton representative had told me on the phone I would have to pay them more money. And that she was the final authority. In other words: A Stanton "frame specialist" did not know his specialty; a Stanton employee says one thing and the company does another. Very friendly staff, but also very sneaky. Very poor customer satisfaction. Spent over $400 for one pair of no-line bifocals. After continuously having problems with the reading part (had to take them off to read), I went back. First they told me they would be covered under the warranty and the Dr. even said there would be no charge because the prescription was obviously wrong, Then they wanted to charge me $74 to fix the problem. Horrible service when you call the phone number on website. It doesn't take you directly to store. It brings you to a call center. Customer service rep tried to sell me eye exam even though I had one less than a year ago and just needed to order more contacts. He insisted and argued with me about my last eye exam date then later said I was correct after I got my calendar out and prescription to prove the date I was there. He then transferred me to a "contact specialist " who was actually just another person trying to get me to book an eye exam. After I told her what I needed and was only trying to get contacts, she kept me on hold for 20 minutes. I finally hung up because I couldn't wait anymore. Very frustrating! Never needed glasses before, so for my 46th b-day the eye doctor says Hey you need glasses but not just glasses bi-focal. Yippee. I go to Stanton for the 2 for $99.00 special, which there was like 10 frames to pick from and they were greens, blues, reds, they looked like kids glasses. So I find two I like. The lady starts punching numbers into a calculator; ok that will be $658.00 I asked for a Military discount, ok now it's $538.00 I said I wasn't prepared to spend that much , how about just one pair $455.00 WOW! Now the lady says oh I can add this promo for both pairs of glasses $350.00 ( for both ) So we went from $658.00 to $350.00 in a manner of 5 min. Conclusion: Stanton was trying to bilk me out of $300.00 Now I'm told the one pair will take a few extra days because they need to be sent out, fine whatever. 11DAYS LATER!! I have been dealing with Stanton Optical since Jan 2017 and they can't get glasses to work for me. My vision is totally distorted. I get dizzy and confused and I'm too afraid to drive with them. They gave me 3 eye exams. The first one was from some quack eye Dr. which the store in Boca Raton, FL admitted to me! Then 2 more exams with them replacing glasses 3 times with no success! Finally asked for a refund and the Inna the manager keeps telling me she has notified the main office but I haven't had anyone contact me. I wish I could give this negative stars, it was so unprofessional. All of the technicians had no idea how to use any of the equipment and had to take photos of our eyes to send to the eye doctors who were in remote locations and no doctor was on site. The doctor was in a remote location and had to perform all examinations through Google hangouts video call. Almost two hours after arriving we still didn't have our prescriptions. I have been a customer of Stanton Optical for a few years and have never had a bad experience. I regularly get new lenses using my two pairs of existing frames as each gets scratched, etc. and each visit has been better than the last. This most recent time, I stopped in and was helped by Alex, the store manager. My lens warranty was slightly out of date and given the fact that my spare pair which needed adjustment had clearly never been worn, he was able to have the lenses reworked for next to nothing. Alex clearly outlined the expected date of return and as that date approached, I called the store to see if the glasses might be done a day early since I was leaving on a trip the next day and wanted the new, scratch-free glasses for the trip. Kari, the manager trainee, fielded my call and was eager to help me out by bumping my glasses into the on-site shop for pickup later that day in order to accommodate my trip schedule. I certainly did not expect that, but her ability to send me on my way with the new glasses was definitely above and beyond the call of duty not often seen anymore.
