I placed an order online and it was not ready at the time I needed. I placed it online checking that it would be ready in time. I went to pick it up and they said oh someone should have called and left a voicemail. I didn't receive a voicemail, even if I had that wasn't the point, I needed them. I clearly didn't receive one if not I wouldn't have wasted my time driving there. She didn't apologize or offer much in terms of what could be done. It was a good price, quality and value. Had an extremely poor experience here when signing up for TSA precheck. (Unironically similar experience to a few other reviews I saw here). I was prepared. I had an appointment and waited near the TSA precheck kiosk to see if anyone would show up. I had asked one other employee in the printer area where to do the precheck and they pointed me in the right direction (they were nice!!). So I stood near it and waited maybe 5 minutes. No big deal, I could wait. I was 10 minutes early anyway. This lady comes out from the back and starts walking towards me and I could already tell by the look on her face that she was in some kind of mood. She didn't want to be there. I don't blame her. I didn't want to be there either but there we were. Instead of talking to me, with words, she makes a gesture with her hands at me in a rapid shoving motion at least three times to tell me move aside from the kiosk. Mind you, I did not say ONE word to her. Not one. I was in shock. This is no better than someone snapping fingers at someone to get their attention. It was incredibly demeaning. She went to the kiosk after I moved quietly and spent about 5 minutes on the kiosk without saying a word to me. I just stood on the side awkwardly waiting to see if she was there to help me or if I was waiting for someone else. Then a bit later she turns around with a fake smile and asked me if I needed help with my TSA precheck and had an appointment. I said yes. She asked for ID, I gave her my passport which should have been ENOUGH (according to the website), but she said I needed my driver's license too. I didn't want to argue and just wanted to get out of there so I handed that over too. More curt questions and replies etc etc. I just wanted out of there and left as soon as I could. Look, I get it. Working in retail and customer service sucks, as someone who used to work in retail. Customers are not always nice to you and you work really crummy hours for not enough pay. But I didn't do anything other than show up. This was my first time ever doing TSA precheck so if I offended her by standing too close to the kiosk, what gives? I don't know. I don't work there. I can't read your mind to know immediately how things go. Lady, YOU are the expert at this, not me. At the very least just tell me what to do without making me feel like I am a piece of gum on your shoe and we can go about our day. 0/10 extremely unprofessional. Absolutely atrocious customer service. I'm so mad I picked the Escondido store to print my wrapping paper. I placed my order 12/1, with pickup scheduled 12/3. An employee called the day before my pickup (Tuesday 12/2) to ask if I'd be willing to give them another day to print because they were so busy. I told them as long as I had it in hand by Saturday 12/6, that'd be fine. He said that was more than enough time and they'd call before then because they just needed another day...no call. Not done. Was unable to use the paper for the original purpose. Called and spoke to Jose on 12/11 asking for an update because it's been 10 days since I placed my order. He said their machine was broken and it had been outsourced and I wouldn't be able to pickup until Monday 12/15. I asked him to call other stores to get it printed and he said he couldn't and I needed to speak to his manager. I was then transferred to Carlos who said he would call two other local stores to see if they could print it. After an hour and a half of no return call, I called back and asked to speak to Carlos. He said everyone was busy so no one had called yet, but Jose would. I asked him to please call now. He called back 20 minutes later and said the other stores were busy, too. I told him I'd pick it up from any store in San Diego county so please keep calling. He called back and said everyone's busy. He then said if I had paid for rush service, then it might've gotten done. I reminded him that I should have demanded the original pickup date and didn't have to agree to let them extend it in the first place. Then he spoke to his employee Jose in the background and asked him if he could do it tomorrow. I spoke up and asked how they could be processing orders if their machine is broken. Carlos said it's not broken. I asked if his original employee had lied before and he said he needed to speak with him to get his story first. I explained what I'd been told, how I was supposed to pick up on the 3rd, and how frustrated I was and he said he needed to call back. He called back 3 minutes later saying his employee misspoke, that the machine had been broken, but now it's fixed. I said--great, then print my order. He said that new orders had been placed AFTER my original order and they had to do those first. I asked why they'd printed something placed after 12/1 if I ordered first. He just kept repeating that the machine had been broken when my order was placed and that new orders were put in this week with rush service. I then asked if the employee who called on 12/2 has been lying about the delay when it was actually broken then. He retracted and said it wasn't broken then. I again asked why something this week would take priority over something that's original pickup date was 12/3 and he just said there's nothing he can do. I'm not sure if they're both teenagers at their first job and maybe just don't know how to handle pressure, but if they don't realize how an order placed on 12/1 and due 12/3 takes priority over a rush order placed the week of 12/11 is ridiculous. I should have never strayed from Canva. Promotions or not, it was not worth it to use Staples, let alone this specific location. read more

I've printed at Staples and Office Depot many many times over the last 10 years for the same type of job, every time. This was the first time ever that the employee in the print section was not only unpersonable, but also refused to quickly print my job while I was there. I only needed 22 black and white pages done. She told me regardless of that I had to wait while she did other things. Which, look, if she was friendly about it that might be one thing, but her absolute cold response and unwillingness to even consider helping me out on this was absurd. Like I've said, I've done this same thing well over 50 times, and never once did an employee not just run these for me real fast. She also made a passive aggressive comment that it's not her fault that I "didn't plan for the hour minimum wait time." Like, for real? That being said, I needed these today, so I decided to just wait there for her to finish it. Which, luckily she completed shortly after. I'd be happy for the quick and efficient work, but her negative attitude continued to make my experience as a costumer even worse. She finished my job while on the phone with another costumer. She handed me my prints with attitude and quickly turned away, never actually acknowledging me. Giving me no chance to ask questions or even say thank you. So I left, only to realize she didn't give me all my paper back (I bought a 100 pack of specialty paper from the store just before coming up to the counter). I turned around and went back into the store to ask her for the missing paper. Luckily she was off the phone then, so I asked about the paper and in the most rude tone ever she said "What?" I repeated it and she checked the printer, grabbed my paper (probably about 1/4 of the entire $15 pack), handed it to me and quickly turned a way again. I said thanks, but it's not like she cared. She was done with me the moment I came in and asked for help at the counter instead of ordering online before hand. I'm super disappointed in this interaction. I'd give the store a 1 star rating if the girl (with a little star painted on her face) at the front counter, who sold me the paper, wasn't so nice. She was funny and friendly. So the girl with a star painted on her face ironically won this store an extra star, but the girl at the print center completely tanked my rating. No one had name tags on unfortunately, so the best I can do is say Star Girl was awesome, Meany Print Center Girl was rude and turned me off from ever coming back. Good job Meany Print Center Girl, I'll be taking my business to Office Depot exclusively now, even if I have to drive further. read more

Our go-to place for school projects! We use the print station and purchase supplies here. I really love the big table where we can layout our stuff and assemble our presentations. We use the printers which are pretty easy to use if you can follow instructions. The staff is helpful when they're not bogged down with lines of people waiting. They have 3 printers and the last time we were there one had a sign stating it was out of order. There ended up being a line a couple times during our visit. We love that there are tools available to use for free like staplers, pencils, scissors, paper cutters, etc. One thing that was lame recently is that they closed their restroom to the public. When we are spending an hour or two working on a project it was really nice to be able to use their bathroom. We had to go to Mike's BBQ a couple doors down so we didn't have to go home and come back. They are also lacking electrical outlets. Oh and I order flyers and other marketing materials online to print and pick up here for my business. Super easy and efficient. Very grateful for Staples! read more

Our appointment for TSA pre check was scheduled for 4pm today. We got there at 3:30. They also do walk ins. Kind of disappointed that we didn't get her name but, we informed the lady that helped us register that it was our first time doing it. She was so rude to us and acted like we were supposed to know how to do it or something. Mind you, this is right after she came out after having a break. We could tell right away from the look on her face that she was going to be rude. Her face told us that she does not enjoy her job. Horrible attitude and customer service, do not recommend this staples at all. Just because you are having a bad day isn't an excuse to act that way to complete strangers! Every other worker we talked to in there when we arrived were very polite and helpful. They made sure we were helped. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Employee(s) saw I was struggling and did nothing to help my situation. All it would have taken was a simple sentence of " I can see this is troubling you, what can I do to help?" You are literally in the business of customer service!!! I had the misfortune of running into Frank? Slightly bald oldish manager of this store today (10/03/23 ) I need AED to make a photocopy of my passport and a photo. I got the shock of my life when he said that would be a crime. First I thought I mis heard him.. and before I could say anything he says it's a forgery. This employee proceeded to engage in a conversation with another employee. When she didn't return, I walked away. I was also looking for Bankers Boxes. She was very rude and just because I didn't have the code ready to scan she left me mid items in my hand and stopped everything and said she was going on break. I mention why she attempted to help me if she needed to go on break. It was very disrespectful and walked away. Someone else noticed and stopped in to help. Not sure what is ger issue but she could of avoided all of these if she would of said hi sorry I am going on break Someone else will help you. Oh my goodness. What a fiasco my short trip to Staples was. Customer service is abysmal. Employees had no idea what 'stationery' was....you know, to write a letter! Yes, people still do that. After not finding anything, I went to the printing service area and waited on line to have two pictures printed from my iphone. One person was working there- one. I have been to Staples in West Valley Parkway 6 times in the past two months to get my Premiere Recycling Ink account. Every time I am told that I do not have any recycling Ink rewards. I typically don't write reviews but this one needs to be written. Do not use this Staples for your copy and print needs. My wife and I were here today 12/16. Arrived around 5:30PM and didn't leave til about 6:30 PM. 45 minutes for them to make 45 copies of 1 file and another 15 minutes for me to go bitch at the guy behind the counter and to management about how it should not take 45 minutes to make 45 copies. Sure the guy behind the counter and the manager gave me their reasons which were completely unacceptable and much worse a big load of crap. The night before my wife was in there to make the same copies and it took less than 15 minutes. The guy behind the counter for whatever reason was lagging, which seemed like it was on purpose. Whatever he was doing, it took 45 minutes to make copies of 1 file. Sure he had to modify the file to fit properly. Dude a 5th grader could of got this job done in less than 10 minutes. The manager tried to give me this load of "well it takes anywhere from 3 to 7 minutes to create a work order and once that's done than we can determine how long it will take." Manager just decided to back up the shitty service of his employee rather than apologize to me for the crappy service and ask me how we can do better. We live close by, we frequent this Staples alot. However after this experience, we will be using FedEx in the same mall for copy and print. I actually stopped in here for USPS shipping (the logo outside the building caught my eye).
