She saw my blurry screenshot and was able to work on it and make it readable saving me a lot of time and follow up. Magician! Have had small business in Hicksville area over 20 years. Before covid totally dependent upon Staples in Hicksville for all office supplies. From 2000 - 2019 easily spent thousands, maybe even over $10,000. All supplies, computers, printers, office furniture. Never had exactly what I needed, always had awful management and customer service. Would walk in needing particular common pilot pens, legal pads, printing paper, ink cartridges...inevitably this store would not have one of my items. Always had to wait even though the store was not busy, and no one ever seemed to care. Then Amazon during covid and I never looked back. Amazon always had exactly what I wanted delivered right to my door within 1-2 days. Had to do a simple return of Amazon purchase and usually go to Whole Foods, Jericho, but "Staples" closer so I chose as my return cite. Had not been in Staples Hicksville since 2018, and nothing changed....same same same. Huge line for Amazon returns with only one person. At this time I was 6th in a line of about 8 waiting, all the registers were open with no customers and 6 associates just chatting at the registers. I was polite and spoke with the arrogant manager, just like all those years ago. He wanted to explain why after being in the store for almost 15 minutes and still being # 6 is was taking so long, something about only one scanner at a time can be used and sometimes the scanner freezes. It was the last day of return, the line was not moving, the manager's attitude expressed a pure and complete lack of caring about customer, so I walked out with the items which will never be used, nor credited back to my card. Some things never change, like Staples in Hicksville. Whole Foods in Jericho will remain, when needed, my go to for Amazon returns. Whole foods knows, cares and demonstrates excellent customer service. Even though it is bit further for the occasional return, I am in and out with no nonsense which seems to be the only way this Staples can operate, i.e. pure nonsense. Staples most recent experience. Jenna is the manager and did indeed help me. I had tried online ordering using their noted coupon and didn't see spot for rewards redemption points. I made various calls. 800 number was near 30 minutes waste of time. Finally I called the store. I went in got help, got coupons and rewards, got items and was out in minutes. The way I like to shop. Other stores other locations I have had mixed experiences over the years. Jenna saved the day for our group when we needed a super fast turnaround for 1000pcs of a small booklet. Went in person after 6p to submit files and it was ready for pickup the next afternoon by 1p. She was extremely helpful and took the time to print out samples on different paper stocks, in BW and color, patiently waited while I revised a file due to a typo, and then checked the final files before I left to make sure there weren't any problems. I hate this place. Super slow, not cheap and just very little reason to go here, as they're mediocre at everything. Don't come here to try to print something. Just begrudgingly popped in, tried to put my credit card in and waited thirty full seconds for it to process. Gave up when I saw that it was $1 per page to print. I've been forced to use their computer for hire before and it's incredibly slow and everything is dirty. Look, Staples falls into the big-box category, like Best Buy. Baseline level of disappointment. I don't know why these stores are so lame, but they are lame everywhere. It's gotta be a thing I don't get. I came to this Staples looking for hole protectors (for three-hole punched paper). Staples never has them. This Staples has a whole bin full of them. So THAT's where they all are! It was Labor Day weekend craziness, with kids and parents buzzing all over the place. The line was easily 15-20 people long when I got on it, but it moved quickly. The cashier was nice, no eye rolls or anything. Maybe it was my low expectations going in, but this Staples impressed me. Went to purchase "New" HP Ink Cartridges. Bought them, took them home, opened them, had my Wife install them. She noticed the ink cartridges had scotch tape on the plastic covering instead of hp sealed. Found out they were empty. Reported to the Manger Bob, who said Come back & we'll return & exchange them. When I returned them, The manager found it hard to believe it had happened to all of them. Accused my Wife switching the empty ones. Yesterday I went to pick up 40 pictures from a staples print center and those images came out perfect. I had to get 6 more images printed and the guy who printed them stretched out the image and did not print the images correctly. When I went home I noticed that they were different then the first 40 images I had. So I called the print center back after waiting close to 10 min for someone to even pick up this guy answered the phone and insisted that he did it right and I was wrong and hung up. I had to call back three times in order for him to redo the order at no charge. We got an email that the order was ready for pickup so I went to the store to pick it up the guy then asked for the original images that he messed up and I said we threw it out cause they were done wrong and was going to recharge me for the images even though he printed wrong and I just spent close to $70 prior on other images. When I said they are my original photographs and I don't want anyone to have them. I asked for a manager he said he was one but I think he was just a sales person at the print center. I then asked for the images again he threw them at me and wouldn't even put them in a bag until I asked for one. After using this staples print center for over 5 years and whenever they messed up they printed them no charge without brining the ones they messed up. I am very disappointed and honestly would not recommend anyone go to that staples print center ever again. I honestly don't see why someone was so rude to a customer.
