Their paper shredding service is also affordable and trustworthy. TIP: Order online @ https://www.staples.com and choose online pick up to save time and find items that are not always available in store. Also, consider becoming a Staples Rewards member in order to receive valuable discounts and offers. Check the websites for valuable rebate offers too (they are usually hidden). PROS: Hassle free return policy. Most items available in stock. Toner recycling program available as well. Plenty of parking. CONS: "Back to School" week is a nightmare so be warned! Had a horrible experience today. I went in and no customer service at all. When I found a worker, he was absolutely no help at all. I asked him what ink would work for a specific printer and he rudely replied, look it up, that's the only way you'll find it. Like really? That's the response you give a customer? I came here last night, and I will always choose Staples over Office Max or Office Depot for my printing and school supply needs because there are enough employees here and every area is staffed. I sadly can't say the same for the Office Depot on Valley Bvld. in Alhambra. But that's for another review, but probably not because I don't plan on going back to Office Max. Anyway, the women helping me at the printing/copying area have been very nice and helpful the multiple times I've come here for printing projects. They let me stand next to them by their computer to pull up the files on my cruzer and they write down exactly what I need, and will call me when the big project is ready. Visited this Monterey Park Staples location for their printing & marketing service to print business cards. After trying several other Office Depot and Staples locations (all with printer, cutter, or other problems) I finally encounter staff that were good at their job, willing and ready to help. The other places I visited were either trainees, didn't care, or were nice people but just couldn't find ways to help customers get the job done right first time around. I tried my local Office Depot & Staples, none of the print jobs I did were acceptable. Shout out to Monique and Diane who were terrific and the tall gentleman was very helpful with the customers as well. I would totally recommend you to visit this location if you needed any printing done. It will save you time if you deal with people who know how to assist you right from the beginning. The stores may be limited in the stock they carry but they are happy to show you samples and can send out for fancier jobs. Keep up the good work! It shows. read more

very very bad service here at MP location. Cashier Valerie was very rude and lazy. The merchandise were messy and with wrong pricing. The ink actually expired but yet were still on the shelf. The manager does not care. I went to pick up something small from another location in Pasadena. What a difference it made. The supervisor greeted me at the entrance and the cashier was very polite and efficient. The store was very clean and things are easy to find. By far the worse Staples printing experience I've had. I ordered posters to be printed and picked up the next day. I received a call from the printing services later that evening that their printer was down and they needed to send out the print job or give me a refund. Obviously I still wanted it printed and didn't mind waiting for it. They told me I would get a call once it was ready. Fast forward 6 days later and I still had not received a call so I decided to call to follow up. I checked on my online account and apparently I didn't have any orders in my history. The rep I was in the phone with said they supposedly came in 20 minutes before I called...but six days later?! Seriously....stop. The girl who gave it to me handed me the bag, told me to check, but walked away before I could even properly check the quality of the job. I didn't realize until I went back to my car that the poster had two different finishes, which is not what I ordered. I had to go back and ask for my my order to be pulled up with indicated a different finish. She offered to reprint in house since their printer was now working. What was supposed to be a 15 minute wait turned to an hour. If I didn't want my poster so bad I would have left and got my poster reprinted correctly elsewhere. Even if this is the closest staples to my house, I would rather drive further for better service. Save yourself the headache. read more

So I had a large printing job to do, numerous color and b/w, at least $30-40. I'd generally favored Staples over the nearby Office Depot. More machines, larger, they're closer, easier parking, if nothing else. I had just made it to the store with my handful of originals, but REALLY needed to relieve myself first. "Sorry, sir, restrooms are not available to the public" "But I'm a customer." "Sorry, sir." Guess what - Office Depot DOES allow customers to use restrooms. I was so, yes - P.O.'ed - that I held it until I could get to Office Depot and give them my current and all forthcoming business. Not that the power of the purse should buy bathroom privileges, but It's often the small courtesies that make it as easy to keep customers as it is to lose them. read more

Oh geez, I always want to die when I'm at this Staples. Office Depot, please! Their cashiers here are so slow. I mean, I don't think cashiers can get any slower than them. If there was a competition for slowest cashiers, they'd win, EVEN if other cashiers tried to be slow. That's how slow it is. I can probably calculate my change faster than it takes them to punch in what I gave them. This may seem a rant, but I warn you, they're slow. OK, rant part done. Now onto their inventory. Their shelves aren't always fully stocked. Yeah, it's right next to a college, but I would expect them to at least have most of the shelves stocked. I purchased items for rebate. The cashier deliberately withheld my rebate form and receipt. She insisted my purchase receipt would be sent to an email. I checked my email, no such receipt was ever delivered to my email. When another person made a similar transaction for rebate as well and specifically asked for a printed receipt, the cashier waited until the transaction was finished and then created a "duplicate copy" without the barcode, date, or any other information. Bottom line, it is IMPOSSIBLE to submit for the rebates. The receipt actually says "Not valid for refund" either. Staples deliberately withheld my rebates. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE. read more

The manager with the blond hair, Dick, is the worst manager on this planet. He should be fired. He needs a training on customer service. I asked him if he could help me with getting my prints at the copy center and his response was the laziest response I've ever heard. He said to wait in line. The line was soooo long and there was only one guy managing the copy center. Poor James. He was excellent BTW. Super friendly and super hands on. He was hustling. The manager on the other hand, complete opposite! That guy was lazy, lackluster, lazy again, and showed he did not care. He started to kick the floor because he was so bored and rushed over to the intercom to inform the customers the store would be closing! Whoever made him a manager needs to be fired too. If you have a long line, jump in! Don't ignore it. This puts Staples to shame. Poor customer service. Poor management. Poor guy. Find a job that you're passionate about. read more

Lacking in customer service and customer attentiveness..printing and UPS stations were unattended for more than 5 minutes and when man asked an employee if someone was coming he said yes but it still took another 5 minutes or more... whose in charge there?..... no greeting customers as you enter either. This week I bought two reams of copy/printer paper for $5.99 each and they have an easy rebate of $5.74 each, so the price will be $0.77 each (including tax). I think that's a super sale!!! She made sure I found everything okay, and also allowed me to input my wife's staples rewards phone number. James had given me a call to confirm if a black line on my photo was okay to print and if not to cancel and redo my order for a better look. He gave me options for my cards, and also gave me the time the store closed so I can stop by and pick up my order. Gabby at the Print center is very helpful. Customer Service here is very good I was impressed. The only downfall is the there are a lot of services offered at the Print Center with Mailing etc... and people get confused with printing. There seems to not be enough staff at the Printing Services area. You have to be very flexible and willing to wait. Other then that there is ample parking which is always a plus. Ive been coming here to print all my projects for our business within the last year, it is the closest Staples in my area and I find it convenient because of its parking. I usually visit the evening after work or early morning and in my opinion i feel like management underestimates the work load that the staff has on the daily since they always seem to have either 1 or 2 employees working that department. My last trip was a couple days ago in the morning to print some flyers and get some stuff laminated. The only staff member in the department at that moment was Diana. In the 30 mins or so that i was there i saw here juggling multiple customer requests in a orderly fashion with patience. She was very helpful and also showed patience with my print work and the questions that i had. At the end, i was able to leave with all the work done. Something i thought i was going to have to come back and pick up another day. I always feel the wish to leave the workers a tip for their help in the past along with my last trip but i know they aren't allowed to. So i decided to leave a review directed to the employees that fulfill their job and that have helped me out in the past. 4 stars are for Dianas work ethic and patiences in my last visit, she went out of her way to get the job done. Hopefully management doesn't continue to oversee the this department and help out with more staff. In my opinion i feel it is a highly resourceful department in the area as there aren't many print shops left. read more
