My friend and I (84 and 90) both on a cane went to the staples at 78th and Bell in Peoria, AZ. We were greeted and told Shaun what we needed. He pointed to the middle of the store and said it would be back there. My friend ask if he would get it and he said there were only the two of them there at the register. There were no other customers in sight. (probably in the store) After much ado he did get the things she needed and we checked out. One other customer did come while we were there and she was waited on right away. I asked if Shaun was the manager and yes he was. He either does not like customers, Staples, or old ladies. I'm really bummed about my experience today. I got some pictures duplicated/printed a month ago and spent over $100. The quality was so terrible that I wasn't even able to use them for my project. I brought them in for a refund today and they refused, even giving me a store credit, and said there was nothing they would do. These photos turned out to be just expensive trash. Of all places I would have thought their photos would have turned out great, they wouldn't even cut them! I would have had to cut 100+ photos myself if I would have used them. Worst customer service ever. They changed the policy, didn't give all the info I needed in the phone call before I went to the store, had to drive there just to get a print job ordered, walked in and was told the could not do the job after all. I get that things change, but they wasted an hour of my time today for nothing. I had been in there multiple times before, doing exactly the same thing, but was told another employee had opened files that they shouldn't have to accommodate my order. They should have kept the other employee and gotten rid of these two. Both of the people that I was trying to explain my problem to, kept talking over me and the lady was very condescending and rude. Don't have a zero or negative star to give. Worst service that any shop can ever provide. Associates don't have the minimum knowledge to accept a UPS drop off and more over they show attitude to customer who just want to drop off a UPS package. Well how can associates behave at the first place when the manager himself is not paying a penny worth of care and attention to any shopper and busy with personal phone conversation. The manager at this Staples Jackie McCarter is extremely unprofessional. These businesses that say they are in dire need of workers should do a better job of actually interviewing people that show up at the scheduled interview time. My son arrived 15 minutes prior to his scheduled interview time. This Manager told him he needed to wait for "a few minutes", and she would be with him. 30 minutes later he was still waiting, she didn't even bother to come and speak to him and sent another employee out to tell him she was busy and that he could keep waiting or call to reschedule. This is extremely unprofessional of her and disheartening to a young person who is trying to find a job. It's no wonder employers can't get employees if they treat prospective employees this way. Rebecca was awesome! She handled my situation extremely well and professional. The only reason why there's not 5 stars is because of her manager, Kate. I showed up right when they opened and expressed my urgent need for business cards. She stated it was going to take 2 hours to print them, and there was nothing she could do. I stepped outside for a bit to call other staples locations to see if they could quickly print them and none of the radial locations were open. I went back inside, and that's when I met Rebecca who assisted me with obtaining my cards. She multi tasked to complete the other jobs that were ordered ahead of me, while meeting my needs. You went above and beyond Rebecca! Thank you so much! Dear Kate, You are the manager and face of the store. You are in customer service and you should be able to lead and go above and beyond, the way your employee did. You did not provide an easy solution to a customer's need and if your employee Rebecca wasn't working for you, this review would not be good. read more

Terrible service! One cashier ringing up customers and the GM is standing behind the service counter looking at reports, instead of helping or getting add'l cashiers to ring up customers. On top of that, the GM was clueless about the weekly ad coupon, which there were only two coupons. Shouldn't a retail GM be aware of their weekly advertisement? She didn't even know what aisle a general product was in, just pointed me over to "either aisle 4 or 5." Now I remember WHY I prefer shopping at Office Max. read more

I like Staples. The aisles are organized making it fairly easy to find what you need. Their prices are good. There's usually one cashier and one person in the print/copy area, so it can be hard to get help if you have a question. Look for sale and clearance items for your best buys! read more

I know that this is a long story, but here goes. We shopped today to purchase inkjet ink for our mom's very old printer. Well we soon discovered that buying her a new printer was cheaper than ink. Sales Assoc. Sean stopped by and asked if he could answer any questions. Well he led us to an HP printer on sale and a printer that had a special Staples/HP Ink for Life deal perfect for our mom! I have taken my daughter to Staples every year for school supplies since she started school... she's a Junior now in H.S. we purchase all of our printing supplies there, get work supplies from there and basically have been a very consistent and loyal customer with big and small purchases.. Anyway... we received a rebate card for $36 and I gave the card to my daughter saying to her when you need supplies ... now you have your own funds! She was so excited and held in it proudly until the day came that she was on her own and needed a pencil sharpener. She stopped to buy it with her visa prepaid Metabank card that in the front of the card it clearly states "funds do not expire but fees apply". Well when she went to pay the cashier said sorry it expired August 2017.. What? It says it doesn't expire? We called the number On the back which now says the card is no longer valid. No person to talk to and no help from the store. Just an automated voice. $36 may not be a huge amount to someone but for us, it's the principle of the thing. I can't find anyone to research it to make this situation right. Staples needs to stand behind their Visa card and if it states does NOT expire they need to honor it. because if the poor attitude, service and run around I've received over this I can't say I'd want to keep shopping here. We have our name and number in their system and all they need to do is look to see how much business they are writing off by not even trying to assist us with in their words such a minor inconvenience! Well it isn't minor to me! ----- I updated the stars from one to 3 because of the quick and friendly response I received thru Yelp. Still a hassle with the prepaid credit on my card and still don't agree that the card should expire and the run around I had to do to activate it... Was looking for an office chair that swiveled, had wheels, but preferably didn't have arms. Wasn't able to find any at previous places we had looked. Went to Staples. They had a great selection of chairs, but none without arms. Hubby finally wondered if the arms could be taken off so he asked a sales person, Domingo, who said yes it was possible for the arms to be removed if the arms weren't connected to the chair and were needed for the chair to be held together. There were several chairs that met that criteria so Domingo told us to look around and come and get him if we needed help. We picked a chair, hubby got Domingo, who immediately came back. We told him which chair we wanted, he said if they didn't have it in stock that it would be shipped free to wherever I wanted it shipped. They did have one in stock. He brought it out to us and said it would be at the cash register where he would be waiting to help us. Hubby was looking for a pen, but couldn't find what he wanted so we went to check out. Lady cashier rang us up and Domingo asked if we needed help with the chair box out to our car. Hubby said yes, so Domingo loaded the chair in the back of our vehicle. We bought a printer here and struggled to get it to work. Finally, in frustration I put it back in the box and took it in for return. They immediately accepted the return. But then the young man -wish I could recall his name -started asking me questions about my problems. We went out onto the floor and explained the pros and cons of every printer they had. He was amazingly knowledgeable. In the end we left with a printer that cost $50 less, was easy to set up, does everything we need and works beautifully. Couldn't be happier. read more

Horrendous service. Absolutely appalled that the manager decided to make an executive decision on my card. I sent an employee in simply to pick up some brochures that I wanted printed, In black and white. Well the manager Anna decided that I wanted them in color. When my employee and insisted to call and double-check with me she insisted that I wanted color and ran my card for $27 / NOT what I wanted to spend. Wow. I'm astonished at the bad level of service. I had a good sized print project to take to the print department but no one was available. There was 3 employees and 1 manager standing at the checkouts LOOKING RIGHT AT me but no one acknowledged. So I crossed my arms and stared at them in a very impatient gesture so they would realize that I was waiting for THEN, but nothing. Are you serious?! U had to send my mom over to ask then to help me. They git in the Michael to call for help only to eventually have the manager, who saw me waiting, come over. OMG. So rude. Would not acknowledge me, say hi, or can I help you, or sorry for the 20 minute wait. Would not even look me in the eye or answer questions. I took my biz ekswhere. Every time I go in here I get generally bad service. Partially because of poor registers/computers (which is strange for an office supply store). Partially because of the lack in management. I use to frequent this store every 4-6 weeks for printing needs. Never was I charged a fee for same day service. If they were busy, they gave ma a time estimate and sent me a text when my order was complete. Today, I had 11 copies to be printed and the store was empty. No machines were running. When I selected my paper and was asked if I needed it today, I responded that I would like it today but I could come back if needed. I was told that there would be a same day charge, regardless if they had orders ahead of mine to complete. I completely understand a charge if they were busy, but they were not. I understand policy but if policy overrides common sense, then it is ridiculous. I will not be back. read more

Terrible service, excruciatingly slow checkouts, snotty, arrogant attitudes from the cashiers. Staples is a good 'brand' but this particular store is one to avoid - i would drive 20 miles out of my way before i would stop here again. No exaggeration, one cashier, 8 people in line, 10 minutes per customer! This was at 2:12 in the afternoon on a Thursday! Horrible experience - find another Staples - you have been warned. read more

Customer service has lots of issues - makes me wonders how soon Staples is going out of business - back home and online looking for other print options locally, along with lower (much) prices and more options at Amazon.com!! Submitted a print order for business cards, email confirmation said they would be ready Tuesday, went in late Wednesday to pick up but (surprise!) not ready - supposed issue with the graphics (even though the proof through their software was fine) and was told that somebody had tried to call me about it (funny though, no records of any missed calls and no voicemails) - so ... supposedly ready in an hour, but it's out of my way so it will be another day or so before I make another attempt to pick it up. They should discount based on number of trips it takes to get a finished project back from them (I had a similar issue on the last print job which required multiple visits to this store ... strike two!). read more

I stopped by just to pick up some ink. Ended up with at least $95 worth of purchase. The cashier tried his best to check out my order but all of the registers computer functions were not working. I followed him from register to register Meanwhile people were going right through on the other line. After this poor cashier had no other options he brought my items to the working cashier and asked him to check my order out. The older gentleman (not so gently) told us he was leaving and was very disgusted with having to check my order out. Needless to say, I left my order and bought it at WALMART for a lot less $. The attitude was the same but at least I saved! Not bothering with Staples anymore. Not the first time I've had to deal with bad customer service at this particular store. read more

They do not stand by their word when it comes to the Rewards Program ! ! - - Until the customer nearly beats themselves to death with just trying to get afew bucks from the Ink Cartridge Reward ! ! This is a scam ! ! - - on & on - - month after month just trying to receive afew bucks back after giving them old ink cartridges to re-cycle ! Can not talk to a real person on the 1- 800 number !... Finally customer makes some progress with the store mgr. until customer gets to the - totally unkind - & nasty cashier - just to give out a total of $10.00 store credit for 5 ink cartridges... which Staples offered me as their Reward ! This entire episode with Stapes was not even worth the many hours spent on the phone and / or my time trying to recover what they promised me in REWARDS ! ! duh - - I will not ever step into their crappy store again !
