I went in today and Dominic printed out two 24x36 posters for me while I waited. He was extremely polite and helpful, also accommodating other customers and working on other printing jobs. When I was young I worked in a printing shop and it was a super stressful job. Went to buy cheater reading glasses at my local Petaluma staples store, they refused to let me buy the exact pair that I needed because it was the display model without a box. The ones with a box did not have the appropriate strength needed available, yet the had 2 display models exactly the same model. Refusing a costumer a product that is in stock, and the have 2 display models exactly the same Is one the most poorest example of customer service I have ever experienced! Plus no body even showed they cared. So sad! read more

The employees have no regard for the disabled and do as little as possible. Last time I came, with signage on the floor, to return an Amazon package, struggling with it and my cane, while fighting cancer and being 72 years old. Went to a counter with Amazon lockers, person just looked at me, barely, and said wrong counter, pointed and looked away, didn't offer to help me with the package or offer the slightest anything. Next time, another return, employee saw me struggle in with a cane and limping, some customer hurried past me though she could see we were in the same line and your employee, instead of asking her to wait, served the race horse and left me standing in pain while she cared for an able bodied woman 40 years my junior, although she clearly saw me come in first. If you folks only care about the fast, furious and selfish and have no respect for a disabled elder, then I'm done being an activist for climate change. If you can't even be polite for 30 seconds why should I care about your future? No more shopping there! Your attitudes towards the vulnerable, who have money BTW, is appalling! read more

I need d to print 1 page tonight so I stopped by. I walked over to the print area. The worker Chris was seated on a stool talking to another customer. Eventually he asked how I was. I responded with good and you? He response was "I' busy". He didn't ask if I needed help. After an awkward pause I responded with "If you're too busy I can ask someone else for help". He rolled his eyes and proceeded to inform me of the process. I went to the printer and he began to talk to the other customer about how adults are like the kids he teaches. He continued to talk inappropriately about me to the other customer. Very uncomfortable being there. The page printed nicely though. read more

I have been going there for 6 or 7 years and I have always had good experiences. The lady who is the store manager there now, I don't know her name, but she has helped me numerous times and she was very knowledgeable, nice and seems hard working, salt of the earth type person. I always thought of Staples as the best office supplies store. For that reason, I have always gone to them for my business and personal office needs. However, I have to start questioning my loyalty based on recent experiences at this particular store. Many of the employees seemed to have been replaced (including the manager, I believe). The employees seemed to be there only because they wanted to get paid. No indication that they wanted to serve the customers. In my last visit, the cashier seemed to have had a bad day. When my payment did not get through (their credit card machine froze), she shoved my card into slots a few times; hard, flagged a manager, and asked me to go to another position. Again, shoved the card into the machine slot hard. No Hi, no Sorry, no Thank You. The customer service seems to be worse than a Kmart, now. I feel sorry for them. I can do better doing online shopping. read more

We had our vaccine cards laminated here last week and the woman who helped us was joyful and happy to help. Likewise, the cashier who helped us checkout with other items. I have also purchased online from these folks. The delivery arrives within a day most times. The store is full of fun stuff...many things I did not knew I needed lol. Ya huge. There is a great selection of office supplies but more, there are many art supplies too. I love this. I am glad I finally got inside. I think I'll visit them in person more often. read more

Chris and Maddie in the printing department are THE BEST! I've been printing there frequently for an upcoming bridal shower I'm hosting and they are so patient with me. I'm not very well versed in paper/print terminology and they understand exactly what I'm looking for. I could print at a competitors store right next to my work but instead I go to this Staples after work, with my baby in her stroller, and print there instead. They have made me feel very comfortable and never rush me through my project. Awesome team! read more

I needed business cards and was in a time crunch. The employee on duty didn't have the knowledge to help me so i was bit frustrated. Bobby from printing called me the next day and was able to walk me through the changes in order to update my card, and also print it that same day. He was even nice enough to call me again so that i could come down and pick them up that same day. He was off work by the time i got there but his customer service skills are 5 star, much appreciated and worthy of acknowledgement. Staples Petaluma will get my return business. Thank you Bobby! Absolutely the worst Staples I've ever gone too. I will stick to the Staples in Pinole or Fairfield from now on....where the service is always fabulous. The cashier was on a personal call, didn't know how process my simple return. When I asked another employee that had "tech' on his shirt, where the $9 web cam was that was in the flyer...he told me there was no $9 webcam's. I was on my way out the door, decided to look at the circular and found the $9 webcam on the front page, showed the Tech who shrugged his shoulders and said he thought I said camcorders. Looking for a map for my daughters room- so I went to staples. I wasn't happy with the ones they had there, so I browsed around at all the things I didn't need. As I'm walking out, empty handed, the guy at the front asked if he could help. So I told him no, I didn't like the maps they had. In seconds, he had US maps pulled up on his screen and we were browsing through 4,000 maps. He narrowed down the search and found me one for $2.49. Exactly what i wanted. AND free shipping to my house. Predictive text had my email address and home address typed in within seconds. I didn't even have time to think. I asked how long shipping would be- he told me sometimes tomorrow, but probably the day after. Wow! I paid and was out. $2.70, less than 5 minutes .... And I don't have to go back to pick it up. My only regret: I should have ordered 2! read more

Staples is one of those chains where you have to manage your expectations going in. These prices are not rock-bottom (for anything) but it's a convenience to have a ream of that particular kind of paper, or that set of pens, or this other mini notebook computer. Stopped by Staples for paper. Saw the 'Easy Rebate' $3.99 multipurpose paper on that special deals table they put right there as you walk in. No mention of a mail-in, so I figured that meant an at the register kind of rebate. Lady at the register rang it up as $8 and change, no mention of rebate. I said 'Oh, hey, I got that because it said rebate'. She said I had to mail in the rebate. I noted how the sign only said 'Easy' rebate, and asked what was easy about mailing it? In a lecturing tone she said 'Rebate mean you mail it.' I asked if she'd ever heard of a rebate at the register and she said firmly, 'No.' Needless to say, Rebates at the register are not mythological and Staples Lady wanted to be right rather than direct me to their next cheapest paper (what you do when you want to actually sell stuff). I don't go there with the most complex of tech questions and issues, but they do offer some decent items, (paper, flash drives) which I use all the time at a decent price and with great rebates. For god sakes ..your printer runs out of ink and you must crawl to the red doors of staples and go into the neon lighting of the real world of internet equipment and the god for sakin office supplies. ..you drag your lifeless body down the rows and come across an entire wall of replacement ink cartridges for my printer. It looks like a wall of shame for all us poor saps who procrastinated to the point our printers just said.."shit dud...your dry..good luck" You find your lucky number cartridge and drag your ass to the cashier only to be asked "are you a staples member"...oh shit...I'm not.! Am I Destin for fire and brim stone.? .."well do u have a staples credit card?"....oh hell no..!!..don't have that either. I am definitely screwed... They hire smart humans with feelings here. I very much so like that. If you don't know what something is called, where something is, or what something does, they explain that "something" to you and where it's located. They even told me about a sale, on certain blank DVDs when they could have just steered me to the higher end ones. I like going here. I just wrote a rather scathing review about Manager Brenda deliberately embarrassing an employee in front of me (the customer). I wish I had maintained my cool and sadly hadn't, Both when I spoke to Brenda and when I sent my review. I verbally attacked Brenda which was the exact same dynamic that I was criticizing her for, and I was COMPLETELY in the wrong and I apologize to Brenda. After I attacked her she said she'd had a really bad day, could she tell me about it? I said, "No" and left. Here is what I wish that I'd said: We all have bad days and it is NEVER okay to take it out on somebody else, particularly a person or animal who cannot do anything to protect themselves. I do also have to say that I'm unimpressed that the manager that I left a message for didn't return my call. So, Brenda, please, in the future (and I will try to take my own advice), do not treat others badly because you feel upset. There was nothing at all that they young lady whom you embarrassed did wrong. Perhaps someone has done this to you in your past? I know I've had it happen to me and seen others do it to other people and I did it that unfortunate day. My apologies. Good prices, great selection and it beats having to drive to Rohnert Park or Santa Rosa for office supplies. They have good parking with oddly large parking spaces and unlike most places, the two closest spots to the door are not handicapped parking. The service can be a bit lacking but that is not surprising from a box store. read more

I went into the printing center at Petaluma Staples and the service and product was great! I had to make copies of these square faux tiles onto sticker paper. The last time I had them copied the color was not as bright as the original ones. When I told Alex, the employee at the printing center, my concerns with the color, she adjusted the printer setting so that it came out as vibrant as the originals. She was of very kind and conversational and was of great help. Though it was moderately busy my prints were finished quickly and for a very good price read more

We went primarily for a chair mat for our home office. Unfortunately, they only have one size chair mat for medium pile carpet, and that one doesn't fit our desk. It would be nice if they carried more than one size. Specifically if they could carry the 36x48, that would be great. I assume most home offices probably either have hardwood or medium pile carpet, so it would be nice to have multiple sizes! read more

i purchased a HPTouchPad 15 days ago from this store for $499.00. I just got notified that HP has discontinued the HP TouchPad and that this store is selling the same product I just purchased now for only $149.00. They are refusing to either 1) allow me to return for full refund, or 2) pay me the difference of $350.00 because I am one day out from their "normal 14 day return policy", not at all taking into consideration the price discount they are now offering is not "normal", nor the fact that the item has just been discontinued which is not "normal". Sorry Staples--but from now on I buy only from Office Depot. And if I had made my original purchase from BestBuy, they being an understanding business have extended the return and refund for all their HP TouchPad purchases realizing this is not a normal occurrence and they want to keep their customers happy. read more

Outstanding service by the manager, David, who was friendly, upbeat and extremely helpful. During the Kincade Fire my organization had purchased necessary supplies to help out with the disaster response. Later, when it came time to reconcile the purchase cards, we noticed that we had lost several receipts. David was kind enough to lookup the original receipts and email copies over, resolving our problem. read more

Our old desktop computer was slowing down and we needed a replacement. I did research online, called, and spoke with Dave in the Tech department. He is a super busy guy but he was incredibly helpful. After doing additional research online I went to Staples to see what they had in person. I was helped by Brenda and she went through all the different options - laptop, docking station, CD drive, monitor, etc. - and wasn't pushy in her descriptions which was a relief. We ultimately decided on a new laptop and Dave took care of us with switching the old stuff to the new computer, installing software, etc.. That took less than a day. It was a pretty straight forward transaction and I'm pleased with our purchase. The whole thing wasn't cheap but we got what we wanted (software, service contract, and only the bells and whistles we wanted) and now our tech guy Dave is just down the street at Staples. My husband and I went to Staples on November 19th as our computer monitor was dying. We had a fabulous experience. The lady helping us was wonderful and we were able to save $100.00 by price-matching a monitor with one that Best Buy has. It was so nice to be treated nicely by friendly employees, who liked their jobs. When I got home, I had a problem with the cord as it would not fit in the back of my computer. I called the store and talked to John Huynh, the sales manager, and he told me to come in for a new cord. I did just that and he had a new cord ready for me and it was a perfect fit when I brought it home. It is such a pleasure to believe that our Petaluma Staples store is better now. Thanks again. My faith has been restored in our local Staples Store and I was so HAPPY that I didn't have to drive to Santa Rosa to deal with the Best Buy people! read more

I came in today to buy a few things for my boyfriends new business. I had a difficult time finding a few things and this guy Bennn who works for the company was extremely helpful in any questions I had. Once a way to pay for my items I had a chair that I had bought and Bennn was sweet enough to carry it out to my car and put the chair away along with the rest of my items.
